Reethe's Badge
Provided Item:
Reethe's Badge

Description

A glint of light on the ground catches your eye from underneath the rubble. Brushing away debris and ash caked onto the object reveals the insignia of a gold anchor on white enameled on the surface: the sign of Theramore.

Here is what i have gathered so far....

The furthest i could trace it back to was a quest called "They call him smiling jim"
https://classicdb.ch/quest=2089

From what i can remember the chain does start in SW where you are sent to look for some young man who had built an inn btw Dustwallow Marsh and the Barrens.
After going to the inn you go to a soldier who used to be stationed with him outside Theramore. He doesnt want to talk so you have to find Captain Garran Vimes in Theramore Keep about it.
He tells you to investigate the inn but you do not receive a quest at all for this.

Going to the inn.
On arrival at the inn there are three quests to pick up. As far as i can figure they can be done in any order but only one at a time.
One is "The Black Shield" https://classicdb.ch/quest=2088 the other is "Suspicious Hoofprints."
https://classicdb.ch/quest=2090
The Black Shield starts when you click the shield above the fireplace. Suspicious Hoofprints starts when you click a set of prints on the ground near the building.

Both require you to return to the Captain.

On turning in hoofprints the captain recruits a spy who is sent out 'to discover more information' - again however no quest is given.

On turning in The Black Shield and taking to the captain you are sent to the blacksmith to discover its origins.
All you discover is that it was built for a large person - possibly a Tauren.
After returning to the Captain he tells you to investigate the ruins of the inn again.

This seems to lead to the third quest called Lieutenant Paval Reethe where you find a badge with those words inscribed on it
https://classicdb.ch/quest=2091
Again you return to the captain and this time check with the personell guy to find out who this person is.
As one of the original soldier to come across the seas with Lady Proudemoore he is now listed as missing.

Yet again you talk to the captain.

He seems to think you will get more information from the deserters in the south of Theramore https://classicdb.ch/quest=2236
After 'scaring' the leader (by attacking him). He tells you that he was part of their gang but was chucked out for wanting to raid the ogres camps. https://classicdb.ch/quest=2431

At this point the quest appears to die as shown on the last link

You don't have to do the pick-up quests at the inn in any order, you can pick the shield, hoofprints, and badge up all at the same time.

Just thought I'd make it easier on ya, save you all the running back and forth, because that's sure what I did on my main, and it's a royal pain in the arse.

The badge is on one of the 3 burned wooden beams inside the burned down in.&nbsp 2 are laying across each other, the other is nearby, it is on that one, looks like a tiny wedge.

The badge is on one of the 3 gray boards on the inn floor. It is very small so look closely. While you are here grab the black shield over the fireplace and the hoofprints right out the doorway of the inn.

The previous poster is correct, it is a little wedge that is on the single plank of wood next to the two overlapping planks.&nbsp

BUT - The badge is ON the plank, however, and won't just "show up" if you run your mouse across it from a distance - you need to be practically right on top of the plank itself to see it.&nbsp Hope that helps!&nbsp Good luck.

Oh, and this quest is available at lvl 40 regardless of sequence.

I have turned in the "The Black Shield" first, then the "Suspicious Footprint" - After the Captain sends out his tracker, I went back so search the badge.

I have looked everywhere aournd and inside the house, but are unable to find it.

Which 'rubbel' is this badge hidden under, and is there a time delay before the 'tracker' returns, and you get this new possibility?

There are 3 boards on the floor. Two are crossed, one is laying alone. It's on the one that is not crossed with another.

It's a lil' badge on one of the planks. There's 2 planks overlapping eachother, and a seperate one. Scour the seperate one slowly, should find it easily.

Good luckski.

Just became aware of this quest and was able to pick it and the Suspicious Hoofprints at the same time.&nbsp No need to do hoofprints first! Badge on plank plainly visible to my 37 pally.

I had done hoofprints but definitely picked up the shield and the badge one together. The badge kind of looks like a doorknob on the beam on the floor

I believe that this quest is in sequence from the Shady Rest Inn quests, the Black Shield and the mysterious footprints.&nbsp If so, it would explain you not being able to find the badge.

Flipping back and forth looks like you have to examine the shield, then the foot prints, then go back again for the board?

Is there a prerequisite for this quest? I ran out here and found 3 boards laying in the remains of the inn, but they weren't usable. I checked all aroiund in and out of the inn for a good 15mins trying to find the trigger for this quest. I did pick up both "Suspicious Hoofprints" and "The Black Shield" while I was there but no sign of this quest's trigger item..

you can get all three items in one trip as mentioned before. the badge is the hardest one to see. You see three grey boards on the floor inside the inn. The badge is a very very tiny dot on the board that is the closest to the entrance of the inn. Move your mouse on the board and with luck you will see it =)
