Description

Reethe? That coward?

We threw him out of camp because he insisted on raiding the supplies of the ogres up at Brackenwall Village. We're not so many in number that we could stand up to those mindless brutes.

He crossed the line one too many times, so we left him to fend for himself.

Now, I helped you out... So, why don't you help us out and forget you bumped into us?

Found him at the same location, easy kill, he is level 38 non elite humanoid, and his guard wont help him!

There may not be many quests in Dustwallow Marsh, and they might not end properly, but they sure get you lots of easy XP quickly!

In just 30minutes I got 18125 XP at lvl 30 (that's 38% of the level)

I did these quests:
- The Missing Diplomat (all the way to the end, only one fight, and you can let some NPC guards help fighting)
- Soothing Spices (take 3 soothing spices along for this quest beside the road)
- The Orc Report (from a grave beside soothing spices quest)
- the 3 quest from The Shady Inn and all their followups (The Black Shield, Suspicious Hoofprints, Lieutenant Paval Reethe (didn't do the last part))

You can do all this by running into the swamp to the shady inn and then back to theramore in just one run, no fighting involved.

Blizzard came up with an ending alright... Captain Vimes tells you he will send some men to deal with both the deserters and Reethe. And that's it for all the running.

Quests stop here. The horde face a similar situation with the black shield, it just ends with nothing.

Defeated him today,twice. got the Question Mark, but he won't reply. For some reason he reset, but stiil would not talk, after i defeated him again. He's at 35,53

Before You start to go to The Shady Inn first time to pick up the three items, make Theramore Inn Your home. Saves a lot of running.

While the coords are useful, I know I only recently gave up and got the add-on for them. If someone could upload a screenshot, it would be a lot more helpful I think.

he's either bugged, or you can't pull him away from the tower and kite-kill him. when you do get him down to 20%, he goes friendly like he should, but doesn't give any interaction gump. no ? mark or anything.

I also found Reethe after finishing what appears to be the last part of The Deserters.&nbsp He's unusable.&nbsp Has anyone else had any joy with this?

The last piece of dialogue mentioned Reethe wanting to raid the ogre camp.&nbsp Ogron (a special Ogre NPC) is in a foxhole across the stream, watching Reethe.

I killed Ogron.&nbsp He wasnt lootable.&nbsp perhaps the next step is something inside the camp Reethe wanted to raid, which makes Ogron lootable.

You can't do anything with Reethe. In a horde quest you help the ogre nearby to kill Reethe.

Jacken is level 38, but none of the other deserters join him in the fight, so if you can heal yourself it is an easy, if not long, battle to subdue him. I just did this at lvl 33 without breaking a sweat as a paladin.

In the end of quest message from Captain Vimes he says he's going to send out Lieutenant Caldwell to find and deal with Reethe. Lieutenant Caldwell is shown as being right around where Reethe is in the Dustwallow Marsh (43,38) Maybe if you talk to Lt Caldwell the quest continues? I searched for him for a while, but couldn't find him maybe others will have better luck?

I have ticketed GMs on and off for the last 3 months and they just tell me over and over again that the quest is bugged and they are "working on it". Don't hold your breath, even if you do have an elixir of greater breath holding

I can confirm the problems with balos jacken are fixed with patch 1.11. I just now was able to talk to him (after fighting him!) and get the last part of the quest.

theres 3 items at the inn for hordies: the blackend shield. reeths badge and the hoofprint.

after handing in reeths badge you get an escort quest to help an ogre go talk to him the little supply stealing bastard.

however before you cna get anything out of him some alliance show up and kill him for treason. (think conversating with ogres was the final straw or something)

after all three of them has been completed horde gets a quest to go talk to the smith of the black shield in thunderbluff.

unfortunatly the smith cant possibly remeber for whom he made the shield so the quest ends there.

btw the hoof prints looks more like raptor/dragonkin prints to me then centaur prints.

but alas the former ogre village now infested with dragonkins reveals nothing. and neither does the raptor grounds =(

Dustwallow as a whole has a sort of unfinished feeling to it I think. First the Missing Diplomat ends without you actually finding the diplomat, and now this. The whole zone leaves you feeling unsatisfied.

What about the hoofprints.... after talking to the captain, he sends a scout to track centaurs... what does he find? maybe that can lead to an ending for this quest.

On the way back from picking up the badge at the burnt-down inn, I took a detour to get some herbs. There was Mr. Reethe himself, with a little tent set up and everything. I was sure that I would be coming back to him soon but never did. Don't know exactly why he's there. The coordinates of his location are: 42:37. Basically, just past the horde ogre as you head back to Theramore on the right side of the path.

Do you think that it can be end? look at last lines of Description! "Now, I helped you out... So, why don't you help us out and forget you bumped into us?" It can't be end! You must propably help him in something.... But in what and how? I don't know, I have only finished James Hyal yet, but I'll try to find out what to do.

Actually the horde has a quest for him, not alliance. And yes it does include Orgen or whatever that orge you mentioned in last comment. Basiclly its the end for the the alliance side quest steps.

Pretty sure Blizz just never got around to completing this quest, as I know thats so for the horde version. But yes, the swamp does seem to have a lot of unfinished quests, but anyone whos been to Alcaz Island knows that Missing Diplomat isnt quite over yet...
