In order to get the 'Baying of Gnolls' quest, which leads to 'Howling in the Hills', and 'Underbelly Whelp Scales' quest, you need to do 'The Price of Shoes' quest and 'Return to Verner'.

I did this quest with a level 23 hunter, wasn't easy but I used my smarts :). I died near the camp so I rez up into the mountains. Yowler is a lvl 25 with a lvl 19 and lvl 22 with him at camp. Sometimes more but usually 3. I was way in the hills, sent my pet down, did a quick crtl. 2 so pet and the 3 would run towards me. I killed 1 and then ran further back and yowler and the other went away. Now there was just yowler and 1, I could handle that. Did the same thing, sent pet down and then back up and defeated yowler and the other. I love being a hunter :)

I solo it as a Mage lvl23.

Fireblast Yowler. Sheep one of 3 who standing close to each other. Then kill yowler. Take his paw. Get killed and you are close to Lakshire :)

If you are a Rogue. Sap one and kill Yowler, take his paw, and then take vanish!

Soloed him as a 23 Warrior
Charged in, feared the adds, hit Retaliation and he went down in no time. Looted the claw and ran away =)

Is it my imagination or is this and most of the Redridge stuff harder than the level it seems to be?&nbsp Yowler as a quest is pretty tough with the number of guys around him...&nbsp Way to tough for the expected reward...

Yet another delightful q that made me glad I was a Rogue. So yet more tips for the discerning young Rogue. Makes sense when you think of it! ^_^

28,22 is indeed the camp's location, but take the time to stealth around and wath the patrols. If you catch it right, you can kill Yowler with just three mobs (including Yowler himself) in the camp, with one sapped. The trick is to stealth up the back wall, and wait. Pull the patrol, then pull a couple of the surrounding mobs on the outskirts so that you have space around the back wall (use ranged pull and fight them against the wall/up the cliff, and heavily avoid them running away) Once that's done, stealth up to camp, sap the highest lvl mob, pull Yowler to the back wall and hit Evasion whilst you kill him (speed being the key here). Once he's dead, hit Vanish, and you have a corpse to loot, and no aggro!

All the quests with tons of mobs seem hard, but with a little smart work, they're easily soloable. I'm pretty sure most classes are the same, just a case of working out what your classes way is. ^_^

Tricky but I managed without a death.

Kill eveyone within running distance of him. You only need to fight him and 2 adds. Sheep him, then kill one of his adds quickly. Run away. Drink, eat then sheep him again. Kill the other add and run away again. Be careful as some of the others will start to respawn. Drink, eat and kill him on his own! Job done

You still need a group to do this quest because the Redridge Mystics that are with Yowler will heal him so don't do this alone.

So can somebody tell me if yowler is in a camp north of the city or more near the towers? How do you read the cordinates?

I just did it.
Im a 26 druid. Soloed this without need of potions or anything. Didnt die..
I started clearing around the camp so i got space for fighting.
He had 2 adds left.. A 21 caster and 22 basher..
I started rooting Yowler. Then the Basher ran towards me and the caster started casting.
I moonfired the basher till around half life and then rerooted yowler.
I used rejuvenation and finished of the Basher with moonfire.
Then it was time for some healing, so i healed my self to full life and Yowler escaped from roots..
i shapeshifted to cat form and killed caster in like 5 secs.
Then I went back to caster form and healed my self up. shifted to cat again and finished him off easily!

Soloed with levle 24 rogue. at hsi camp ther is a patroling alpha, alpha, mystic and him. wait for patroller to leave, sap the altha, kill the mystic quickly, they die fast, and go all out against yowler. he will die about the time the alpha is back. at this point, vanish or kill em with evasion.

location of his camp is 29,23, but he roams around nearby too

This is the one where, if you can't find anyone to go with on this quest... @ about level 19, maybe even 18 as a rogue, I sat down and logged out in the field of where Yowler was founded at, had my main kill everything BUT Yowler, log out, and solo him myself with my rogue.

Not sure if this is new or anything, but when I killed him (20 warr), he was walking from one gnoll camp to the other, so I was able to pull him without any adds.

Yowler is surrounded by a bunch of lvl 19 Alphas and Mystics. However, there are only 3 that u can agro along with Yowler. They are: 1 Mystic, and 2 Bashers/Alphas. Yowler is located along with these 4 in a camp at the far end of the valley. I completed this with my hunter at 24. I just sent in my pet to attack Yowler, agroing all 4. I then just picked out guys and drew them to me. Very easy, just have to plan it out a bit.

The co-ordinates you guys are quoting how and where can you view them?

there r very nice addons that tell u the exact coordinates of u and ur pointer

I'm a level 22 Rogue and this was simple.&nbsp I found him north of Lakeshire, just where the canyons end and just to the right of the caverns.&nbsp

Yowler had 2 gnolls flanking him (A basher and a mystic).&nbsp I just stealthed by and smacked him and ran backwards before the other Gnolls figured out that I was there.&nbsp I killed him off and stealthed back by them.

Easy. ^_~

This was a pretty hard quest for a warrior. I did this solo the other day. The trick is to take out the mystic and alpha, and then fear yowler so you can run and heal (I didn't have potions at the time). After that, it's pretty easy to solo yowler. Was a level 24 warrior.

I could use some help knowing what level he is and how to kill him!

i just solo'd this quest as a 23 frost mage and here's how:

1. yowler is surrounded by 3-4 other gnolls. target yowler first, sttack him w/ any instant spell.

2. frost nova all of them together, continue attacking yowler.

3. after the frost nova breaks, just arcane explosion constantly until yowler dies.

4. pick up yowler's paw, blink your way out and you're done.

5. make sure you have 1 healing potion.

I was 23 lvl mage and i beat him alone. It`s very easy to kill him and his guards.

I too would like his location, no numbers, just tell me which to go and I'll take care of him. Lvl 19 almost twenty.

I can't find the camp where he is at.
