The Atal'ai Exile

Bring the Bundle of Atal'ai Artifacts to the Atal'ai Exile in the Hinterlands.

Description

While you were braving the dangers of the Pool of Tears, one of my scouts returned with a scroll written in blood on dried flesh. It seems to be a judicial sentence against a priest of the Atal'ai tribe.

This priest was sentenced to a fate worse than death amongst the Atal'ai.

He was exiled to live far north in the Hinterlands, with the Witherbark trolls.

I will bundle these artifacts. You are to seek out the exile and discover their true use. Return to me once your journey is complete.

I was lazy and didn't bother trying to fight my way in, so I just mounted up and rode around to the temples, looking for the elusive gold disc on the mini-map. Found it, got to the troll, handed it in, and died. I'm gonna say it was worth it.

Edit: At one point this comment was scored 1000, although I have no idea how or why. How many internets have I won?

The exile is found in Shadra'Alor in the Hinterlands. From the entrance to this area, run straight ahead to the temple in the southwest. Be prepared to kill 3-4 spiders and 4-5 trolls. Also be prepared to dodge Shadra, the level 55 elite spider.

You will need to go near the top of the temple (noted above) then drop down to the left before you reach the top. If you stick to the left side of the stairs, you should be able to see the exile (and his glowing yellow question mark).

You can get to the exile without going up the temple. after you pass the lake head to the west zone wall. run up the wall (it will take a few jumps) and you can drop down right on the platform he is standing. This is more difficult then Ormriss's description but it will require less fighting.

When you fight your way into Shadra'Alor (have to clear some level 45 or so spiders and trolls) on the southeast side of Hinterlands, there are 3 temples around a small pool of water. I found the Exile on the left side (as you face the temples) of the middle temple. It may be that he pops in different places, but I don't think so.

I just flew to Tarren Mill, traveled behind Durnhold Keep and into The Hinterlands.&nbsp I avoided the alliance town by hugging the mountains.&nbsp None of the monsters looked too tough.&nbsp They were all 40-44 no elites.&nbsp I rode my mount directly to 35, 75 as instructed and found him outside the temple and hearthstoned back.&nbsp I only killed 2 trolls this entire quest and it took me a total of 30 min.&nbsp With all the hype I expected it to be more difficult.&nbsp I could have definatly done this on foot and I don't understand the difficutly previously stated. Instead of running up the stairs and jumping to the the left. When I got to the bottom of the stairs I headed left up the hill and ran around and walked over to him from the side. Didnt fight anyone let alone die.

Not so hard really. When you enter Shadra'Alor, its the temple right in front of you - to the south on the map.

Then, walk upstairs, turn left and jump down. Easy to see him.

When he says far north, he must mean far north of *here* (Swamp of Sorrows), in the Hinterlands.

He is located in the witherbark troll town. When you go down the path, he is to the left of the temple in the middle, across the pond. Hope this helps you find him!

Why Fel'zerul says it's "far north in the Hinterlands" puzzles me - he's actually in the southwest. The co�rdinates and directions given above are correct.

This quest is quite easy if you avoid the named spider queen Shadra. She is lvl 55+ elite spider. When you enter the Shadra'Alor, the temple is straight in front of you. I managed to get the quest done this way: As soon as you enter the Shandr'Alor go immediately to you right you need to fight a troll or two plus a few spiders then go slowly up the temple there are 2 trolls on top fight them and then Atal'ai the Exhile is there as soon as you drop down plus you will see a yellow dot as to where he is. Basically all you need to do is aviod the named spider when you go get the quest update from Atal'ai. Im a 45lvl warlock got the quest done with no porblem.

There is also another Quest in this region which can be done at the same time.

All those who are lvl 39, I wouldn't advice to do this quest under this. Its a nice way to get 3750 XP of him, then another 3750 for returning, all of 1 1/2 hours work..ok I died 4 times but hey, I was bored.

1) Arathi Highlands, jumped of bridge going to the wetlands.
2) Walked on water (..P) North round to Ravantusk Village on the East coast.
3) From the village go North to the path up the side of the hill to the West.
4) Stop on the path and when you get to a junction @ 35,37 go south.
5) Keep running till you die near the pool.If you make it,nice one, if you die res in the pool, heal etc, use 'Walk on Water' to get your mana up.
6) Run up the stairs (as previous posts)jump over to the left get the quest, jump down onto the next step from him. Die
6) Res back up on the step and Astral Recall all the way back to Swamp of Sorrows.

Decided to make a run for it and see what happened. Ran passed everything and died just after handing in quest. Res'd, accepted new quest and hearthed back to swamp. easy xp.

Acydik's method is MUCH easier. Of course, fighting 4-5 of these mobs shouldn't really scare you. They're spread out well enough you could probably drop a few fear bombs without getting into trouble.
