Search for Tyranis

Find Tyranis Malem in Desolace.
Tyranis' Pendant

Description

We were brought here after the orcs slaughtered all our guards and servants. Oh, the terrible things they did to them! I thought surely they would kill us right there and then, but it became obvious they had other plans.

Tyranis attempted to speak to them. I think he wanted to impress them with his knowledge of the arcane... I'm not sure why.

Please, I can't leave here until I know what's happened to my brother. Find him, then come back for me when his fate is known.

He's in the other building in complex...clear what you can, after you kill him (lvl36) you have to go back to see the previous contact in main building, then bring her out to safety

Tyranis is in the building to the left of the main building. Both buildings are set up the same and Tyranis is in the same place in his building as Dalinda is in hers. He he lvl 36 and hostile.

TIP!

she only stops for a mob which attacks her, so just wait till the mob hits her and then help her out!

Eeeasy. Just remeber these keypoints:

1. At the first part, kill the caster mob in the middle of the room with Tyranis. THEN attack Tyranis. This is the only way you can kill them one by one.

2. At the escort part, clear the whole building before you take the quest. Then pretty much all you have to do is walk her out of there.

3. At the escort part, always stay back and let the mobs attack her. She will stop when this happens. If you don't let her get attacked, she will NOT stop and forces you to aggro half the fort's people.

I was able to solo the part in which you had to kill the alliance NPC inside (her brother?), and I thought I wasn't going to be able to solo the part to escort her, until a Horde came in, seems he was questing, killed them all for me (the ones in the room) and I was able to make my way out of it.

Made it at level 36.

I killed one guy in that room, and then went straight for T... Thyranis or whatever his name was. Nobody gave a damn.

Level 35 Human Mage.

And yes escorting his sister is quite annoying, she doesn't care what's attacking you. Sure, you can probably handle it, but you're supposed to protect her on her kamikaze promenade as well, which might prove a bit difficult with adds. ^^

He's at a building west to the building where the girl is.
Clear all and then kill him.

The coordinates for him are 52,28. For those w/o coords, he's in a small building to the west of the main fortress.

Take out the mobs on the ourter walls first: start left then work right. Try and pull one at a time. Use a bow, gun, etc. and pull them to a spot where you won't aggro more.

I'd suggest taking out the one in the center of the circle last. Then tackle Tyranis. He's is not very hard. He's lvl 36, and doesn't do much damage. Watch out for his moonfire.

I'm a level 35 warrior. I don't think it would be too hard to do it as a 33 or 34, but going below that might be pushing it. Bring some potions if you're worried about it.

go back to the guy you started form in nigels camp. cant remember what his name is. :P

for everyone else. this quest was a walk in the park! it can be soloed at 32 easy! admittedly, i was a 37 fire mage and do a hell of a lot of damage. but i found this VERY easy. its the escort that everyone has the problem with. so here:

1. on the way in, clear EVERYTHING. it doesnt matter how long it takes, just clear everything in the way of the exit. the pat on the inside, the entire room shes in, the guards on the inside AND out, and the mobs outside the gate. start from outside the gate and work inwards.
2. now accept the escort quest, and walk out with her. some of the guards outside the gate may have respawned, but its nothing you cant handle. she helps with killing.

i didnt really see wat the big fuss about this was! the reward gear is sound, and the XP is quite good. stop complaining everyone!

Edit: died again. 7 times now.

Edit 2: gr8. made it inside, just to discover a BE paladin killing the quest NPC.

At 34 my Shaman merely crept around the corner,
and waited for the guy in the center to walk to his max distance from the "brother".
Then I hit the bro with an instant spell, "earth shock" in my case, and jumped back around the corder to the entrance.
I got no aggro from any other mobs.
Killed him in the normal manner, then exited.

Anyone who can get to the corner with no aggro should be able to do the same.

And yes, the escort quest that comes next is pure BS, just like every other escort quest.

Just soloed this as a lvl35 warlock, with my vw as pet.

I buffed alot, using scrolls and stuff, but there was no need, i was almost at full health after.

Funny thing is that altough i read here that the escortee does not help, she did. I was sending my minion ahad to atack the mobs, and she was running after him and atacking :)

Too easy.

this has been pretty fair so far - admittedly, im doing it at 38 but the real problem with an otherwise simple and uncomplicated mission, has been the overwhelming number of horde that frequent the fortress - literally everytime ive tried to complete the escort ive cut my way, rather easily out of the main building, right to the gate, when all of a sudden a horde, usually a BE caster of some sort or other, shows up and attacks me.
Once it was a lvl 70 Tauren escorting a 38 hunter. Once I attacked a BE who feared me around the compound til I had attracted the attention of every ork in Mayberry.
I have yet to make it outside the gate, but at the level I am playing, the mobs are easy - I can imagine&nbsp a pair of 35s doing this with no trouble either.
I would normally abandon the quest, but ive harassed so much, I have to complete it - for pride's sake.
For the sake of my sanity, im bringing half my guild next time, so when the corpse-camping BEs show up there'll be a warmer welcome

Solo'd it at 35 Paladin, pulling the guards can be a little difficult where Tyranis is, but otherwise it's cake.&nbsp I was suprised when the escort quest came up, because she didn't stop for anything until 3 mobs were on top of us.

solo'd as a lv35 hunter. i basically killed everything in tyranis' building except for the bigger room he was in. then when i walked in, stayed at the corner and killed the ONE thing standing in front of him then killed tyranis. nothing else attacked me when i was hitting them. then went out and cleared the area before escorting the sister (kill really fast..like one after another..not resting in between. or else they will respawn just as the girl is walking out). so basically the things that attacked me were the things outside that wooden fence. i just let my pet do it and ran up to catch up with her and my pet just dissappeared when i was a certain distance away. quest done..and ran back to nijels point to get reward =) took a few tries to find out that i couldn't rest while clearing out the area.

stealth up to each of the guards (in either room, hers or his) and then go for your target. during the escort part, just make sure you are stealthed and that you sap someone ahead of her to make it easier on yourself.

kidney shot, cheap shot, evasion, and gouge are your best friends here.

i believe this is easily possible at lv33-34 with any class, regardless of your spec. just be careful, and keep in mind that it IS an escort quest .. clear the path ahead of you a bit, and you shouldn't have any problems.

Comments are all right, he's in the left building, he's a 36. Take out everyone else first and you should be fine.
When you go back to the girl, just kill everything near the entrance and around her before you take her quest to help her out. Then you'll only have to kill a few people.
Oh, we did this with a 36 hunter and rogue, super easy for us.

Got the pendant from the wagon as yo know by now is just north of the fort in a box be sure to open twice. Low and behold I work my way into the fort to find a troll lvl 37 player killing Dalinda.
He then proceeded to kill everyting else in site.
We rested for a pop on Melinda did the talk to her got the quest for the brother went into that room to find him chipping away at the red crystal when suddenly a giant winged devil appeared for him to fight while 2 orc shammys bolting him from behind.
Finnaly got the quest done after fighting half the place lvl 31-33

This guy went down fast from me (32 warrior). He's a caster and only has about 1100 hp. Don't think I ever went below half health. There is an add that you need to take out before him, but it is directly in front of him and can be pulled without aggroing him.

considering both Tyranis and Melinda are in the fortress but different buildings, I stealthed my way in to talk to her first it was full so I waited until a troll came up and killed everything around and talked to her.

Same technique for her brother, when I entered there was a tauren wiping out the augurs and reavers around. Coming out of stealth, I killed him (having half his HP, so I cheated a bit) and talked to the guy. When I left there were no creeps :D

Just clarify what someone mentioned below, in the last part of the quest, when you have to get Dalinda out of the fortress, she will walk a set of predefined waypoints from the building she is in to the main entrance, then start running back to Nijel's Point, saying something like "I'll be fine from here", at which point you will get the quest completed message. She will NOT follow you, you must follow her!

Also, Dalinda is L36 and seems to auto heal after each fight so theoretically she could fight her own way out if she can take the NPCs one at a time with no adds.

Finally the first time I did this part I didn't realize Dalinda wasn't following me and she died, resulting in the quest failed message :(. If this happens just wait for her to respawn and try again.
