Singed Scale (5)

Description

As a warrior, one of our most crucial tasks is... protection. We are the shield of the Horde, and we keep our weaker brethren safe. If you are to join in our ranks, then you must prove your mettle to me.

Go to Thunder Ridge in Durotar, where live the lightning hides and thunder lizards. Hunt the beasts! Show me you are tougher than they! Brave their assaults and bring me a stack of their singed scales as proof.

Do this, and then I will teach you.

Seeing as how this is a pretty important quest for warriors, I'm surprised nobody has posted yet.. Thunder Ridge entrance is at 39,32 in Durotar. Left after you cross bridge.

Mobs are level 9-11. They are not hard to deal with. Just remember they are not in the Barrens but in Durotar.

im lvl 23 and i killed 20 of them NO DROP YET i think the higher the level compared to the quest the lower the drop rate is since i went on this same account and did the plainstrider quest(first tauren quest) one item dropped maybe every 10 kills

First time I had no quest items dropped too (tried about 20 beasts). I have abandoned the quest and started it again - had to kill about 10 beasts to collect all 5 quest items finally.

Confirmed Coordinates are:

Thunder Ridge entrance is at 39,32 in Durotar.

Dunno where triniman's numbers came from. The Thunder Lizards are lvl 9 & 10 and are mostly lined up in a row, so one at a time. Very easy and the drop rate is 1 per kill.

Somehow I dumped this quest from my log to make room for others while I was off fighting in far off lands. I did not realize it was a class based quest. (I was only looking at the color of the quest in my log) Now that I am 22nd level, can I still go back and reaquire this quest? I needed to complete it in order to gain my defensive stance. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated

This quest is a nightmare in Classic. Thunder Hide seems to have a much better drop than Thunder Lizards

Does anyone know if there is an upper level cap ?
A member of my guild missed this quest and tried to go back to do it at level 19. He was told by the quest giver that he was too high.
Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks
