Rot Blossom (8)

Description

If you bring me some rot blossoms then I can brew you up a batch of zombie juice.

Rot blossoms grow in strange places. In particular, I hear you can find them inside the skulls of Skeletal Horrors and Skeletal Fiends... not that I've gotten close enough to look!

The Raven Hill Cemetery is lousy with those skeletons. You may as well get rid of them while you're looking for rot blossoms. The town of Darkshire would be grateful.

This is outside of Blind Mary's House. It is probably better to run down here than all the way out to Raven Hill to do this quest because of the turn in. The respawn rate is pretty quick if you kill really fast.

The ideal quest to do alongside this would be the second part of the Night Watch chain.

The SouthWest portion of Raven Hill cemetary has lvl 24-25 horrors and fiends. They dropped at near 90% rate. Hardest part was finding them alive while others were harvesting.

Did this as lvl 33, for lower lvls watch&nbsp out for the gang of gang robbers while you're running around, you'll need help if you spark them off, though the have nice chest at times.

Got them at Raven Hill Cemetary' south part.
Skeletal Fiends have a 0% drop rate.
Skeletals Horors' have a 99% drop rate.
at 7/8 Rot Blossom quest item ..
Skeletal Fiends drop the last one
-average lvl is 23-25

About a dozen or so lvl 23-24 horrors can be found outside the little house just north of Tranquil Gardens (tloc 80,60 or 81,59..right around there)...Blind Mary's house...the same house where you have to take the comb

Decent drop rate on the blossoms and a helluva lot better then running all the @#$%^& way to Raven Hill...which you'll have to do anyway about a hundred freaking times while questing in this zone lol

sometimes I take the gryph to westfall and run in from there just to avoid that boring run across the zone...

I was around 80,58 (The house where Blind Mary is) and killed 12 Horrors and got all 8 rot blossoms. Maybe it's just luck.

Sorry guys, but outside Blind Mary's house spawns low. Also, the only ones there are Skeletal Horrors. There are no Fiends.

It is best to do this quest at the same time as you're doing the 2nd part of "The Night Watch", which has you kill Fiends and Horrors, both of which are found at raven hill.

Quests in this game have a natural order. In duskwood you're almost always on 2 or 3 quests at the same time. Take advantage of the way things ae laid out and you'll go a lot faster..

edit: Yes, if you're on the quest the droprate is around 80% for both. If your killing a lot and getting nothing, you're unlucky, but the guy who posted up there 50 kills for 0 blossoms is either a retard or a liar. (Probl'y had a full inventory and didn't loot them. -.-)

Found many near Mary's house and the drop was very good for me. I couldn't agree more that it is much easier to stay near town rather than hiking all the way to Raven Hill.

Ok, guys, here's the deal. To make the game more interesting EVERYTIME you play it, they move the drops. On my Rogue, when I came to duskwood in my 20s, I got most of mine from the Tranquil Gardens. Naturally, when I took my Warlock to this area in his 20s, I went to Tranquil Gardens. Nothing. I got like one after 20 minutes. Had a "The Butcher" come out of the Chest next to the house, which i passed to my Warrior, but no luck on the Quest items. I head on over to Raven Hill at this point, and sure enough, amazing Drop rates. Took my Warrior through, and head to Tranquil Gardens, Mediocre drop rate, but not enough to satisfy my desire to quest faster, so i head over to Raven Hill. No drops... Head back to Tranquil Gardens and baddabing, baddboom, every kill was a drop, some dropping 2. My Priest just went through recently, and He got 2 drops on almost all of them, every single one of them dropping in Raven Hill.

Play the field, and don't think it's ONE loot table ALL the time. It's not an instance, so they're allowed to change it up within the Quest Guidelines.

Good luck to all you eager adventurers, and keep your chins up. It's worth the Stormwind Reputation and XP if you keep at it. I mean, it's not fruitless, you're still getting XP on every kills -)

I can confirm what's been said before: go to tranquility cemetry and kill untill you get 2 rot blossoms. Then go to raven hill and kill until you get the rest. Worked for me. Also being on the quest The Totem Of Infliction comes in handy, 'cause you'll be also collecting skeleton fingers

I killed about 50 fiends and horrors at Raven Hill with no drops. I never saw any at the Tranquil Gardens. The only place that dropped the blossoms for me were the skeletal horrors in front of Blind Mary's House, with about every other skeleton dropping rot blossom.

They will drop at Tranquill gardens. Takes about 15 min and the spawns are far enough away you can pull one at a time. They also drop at raven hill, but depending on you level the aggro could be tough.

Make sure you got the quest "The night watch" before you start killing the horrors for the Rot Blossoms.
If you got both quests, you'lll do them both at the same time. :]

I had no problem gathering those, just killing all the skeletons outside BLIND MARY'S house @ 81,59. It was really a ten minute time to gather the quest items and it has a really good respawn rate there so in my opinion don't bother going all the way to raven hill..

all the blossoms dropped at raven hill for me, and pretty quickly. also good to have quest "The Night Watch" while doing this since the blossoms drop off the skeletal horrors and fiends. but watch out for mor'ladim, high level elite undead patrolling the cemetery.

Droprate pretty bad. Killed 10 or so at Raven Hill without a drop. Checked this page to see if I missed something (that it was on the ground or something). Went to Blind Mary's house and found one on my first kill, but then I had to kill about 10 for the next one. They came faster after that and it took about 30 kills at Mary's house to get 8. Go figure.

The Fiends and Horrors are not in Tranquil Gardens cemetery proper, but rather around Blind Mary's house just a little bit North of it. However, I must have killed about 10 or 15 of them and not one drop. So I would recommend killing the ones at Raven Hill Cemetery since a previous poster said the drop rate was better there.

Level 25 Dwarf Hunter + Level 24 Duskwood Wolf... Just do about 3 laps of the cemetery just south of Darkshire (near mary) and you will get Linen, Wool, mine some tin/iron if you have it and finish quest. I was able to kill nonstop at level 25 and the longest part was looping back around and waiting for the respawn to start (about 2mins on the Gameboy Advance :)

Rot blossoms a common drop off the Horrors near Blind Mary (never seen any Fiends there though, and never seen either Fiends or Horrors actually in Tranquil Gardens cemetary.)
