Supplying the Front

Bring 6 Copper Axes and 6 Copper Chain Belts to Thorvald in the southern guard tower of Loch Modan.

Description

The mountaineers of Loch Modan are fighting troggs, and having a busy time of it! They need constant supplies of new armor and weapons if we're ever to get a handle on those troggs.

That's why my colleague Thorvald is there, trying to keep the mountaineers in good gear. So if you were to make some copper axes and copper chain belts and bring them to Thorvald, he would be obliged. He might even share his knowledge with you.

Thorvald is in Loch Modan's southern guard tower.

i found elwynn forest is a gold mine for copper ore, the 3 farms near bottom of the map, patroll them. and you will get alot of copper. just doing 3 quests got me 97 ore.

How to complete (Quest #1578):

accept quest /way 48,76, 42,62
buy 6x (Item #2880) from blacksmith vendor
get 12x (Item #2589), drop from humanoids or buy in Action House
use mining passive (Spell #2580) for find 72x (Item #2770). (Item #2770) drop from (Object #2055) in several maps/locations.
use blacksmith for craft 6x Copper Chain Belt and 6x Copper Axe.
return quest in Loch Modan /way 23,70, 74,44

2 gold? Where were you getting your supplies? From over-charging money-barons from the auction house? Just mine the ingredients yourself, free up some space and mine up to 40 - 60 copper ore--spending 5 silver for an extra bag would help--and then fashion the belts and axes--you'll also need 6 silver for the weak fluxes for the axes. Not everyone gets the copper chain vest plans drop, and I personally am rather proud of having to find it--I just vendored the plans to somebody instead of auctioning them. And besides, I don't like leaving any blacksmithing quest uncompleted.. More experience for me!

He's at 23,74 in Loc Modan (thanks to Titan Bar)
and at lvl 48 I only got an honor increase in IF of 10 and SW of 3... turns out it's not worth the trouble

I have found that this Plan is a common drop and the items recieved are of such quality it's better to sell the copper at the auction and buy somthing or get a good drop then to do this quest , its not in a chain unless I am mistaken and seems to cost more then its worth. Just to get skill up's it better to hang out and make things for people and get somthing then to do this quest. If I missed somthing and this is in a chain please post.

Make the axes before the belts - they go yellow earlier (at 60 skill).

These plans drop from a number of monsters as well, if you're lucky enough to find one, you can abandon this quest and save yourself the Metals :)
