Speak to Guard, got the quest, and immediately got "You have the quest already" message and are unable to speak to the drunk... Bartleby how do i speak whith hi and get his mug

ROFL i just did this quest on my alt ( twinked tho crusader on 2h ) and i killed him =S

I had bought a new mace too and ran away cause skill was 1. And yes u can do it again. I logged out and back in and got the quest.

I picked up the troll quest and this quest at the same time, then did the troll quest, then came by to do this one. It said "You don't meet the requirements for that quest". So I go over and talk to the drunk anyway, and he fought me and I got his mug and turned it in.

Then Burlguard said "I'll show you some moves" and then oddly showed me no moves at all (cause I already had them, I guess) and then he told me to go get a weapon made by such and such down the road, but I looked the weapons up and they're the same as that umbral stuff you get made for you in Ironforge.

So basically its possible to do this one and the vek-troll one if you pick up both messenger quests then do the troll one then do this one.

I can accept the quest but then he gets a silver ? above its head. When you speak to me it says something like you have a quest to do. But he shoudl fight me.

My wife didn't know about this quest at 10, and she just hit 20, and when she talked to Burlguard, she didn't get the option to get the mug from Bartleby...do you need to do something like /greet him first?

I'm having the same prob as Lonefalconbro. Will be trying it again but wanted to let you know you're case isn't isolated.

I believe the problem is related to being on another Warrior quest in IF. I was on the quest "Vejrek," which followed "Muren Stormpike." (Quest #1679) got the same "You are already on this quest" error, and when I finished the Stormpike line, I received the skills and an Umbral weapon, very similar to the ones at the end of this quest line.
After completing that line, I came back and Bartleby had an exclamation point over his head, and I was able to continue this quest line. The response from blizz was the usual form letter crap. Good job, blizz.

I accepted the quest but when i did it said "You are already on this quest" and wouldnt let me talk to Harry or Bartleby- anyone else having this prob who has fixed it? im currently waiting for the GM's to get back to me and see if they can fix it.
