Talk to my friend, Furen Longbeard, in the Dwarven District of Stormwind. He's the best shieldsmith you'll ever meet, and he owes me a big favor.

Here, take Furen this cask of Barleybrew Scalder and ask him for a shield. He'll give you a nice one.

The shield is bind on pickup, and the quest is Warrior only.

Abandon the quest and get it again if you fail.

This shield as reward sucks really bad, you get better shield from AH for low cost and much better.
This reward could be at least a rare with nice tanking stats, as +defence or +stamina.

Just finished it for XP, junkie shield but good for looks if you combine it with hammer

had a better shield 3 lvls below... figures that blizz would make the bad shields look so good..

I went and did the tunnel quest, Then handed it in, I got the next qest for the sheild and then flew the SW. I went ot eh Dwarven district and the fricken dot isn't there snd iv'e searched 5 times now. =( Why won't it work!

the shield for this quest isn't even as good as the Arctic buckler from a quest in BFD - granted you need to get some help to get the quest and the shield in Darnassus BUT the following quest for the fire hardened hauberk is well worth the effort. Especially for twink warriors in 20-29.

I completed the Rethban Gauntlet some time ago, but Barleybrew did not - and does not - offer me the next quest in the series, so I'm stuck.&nbsp Does this quest series still exist?

It is worth doing because the next quest he gives you lets you get a fire hardened hauberk (favored mail for twinked warriors)
