Description

To make the brutal leg guards, I need a brace of sturdy shinbones. The Dragonmaw orcs of the Wetlands have nice, thick shinbones. I'll need theirs.

But they must be sturdy. Be sure to test the shinbones as you collect them. If you can break them with your bare hands, then they won't be sturdy enough to work with.

Follow the road to the Angerfang Encampment area (52,45) (it is pretty much in the center of the Wetlands)

Start killing the dragonmaws. Each kill will give you 2 bones.

here is the trick...
use the bones after you get them to test sturdiness (right-click on them)

Its the dragonmaw orcs that are located in the center of Wetlands, which are just south of Arathi Highlands. Just follow the road south and as soon as you cross the bridge head to the mountains in front of you and you will find them in there. The drop rate is fairly good, takes about 30min with 15min of that time getting you there from Hammerfall.

Co-ords are the 49,47 area.

Although the fail rate is pretty high, they drop two bones at a time.

The only problem with the drop rate is once you get them, you need to test them. The shinbones themselves drop, but they arent sturdy, their just shinbones. Once the items drop, then you need to right-click to "test their durability" or somthing like that, and when I did it, the failure rate was like 9/10. So maybe i just got really unlucky, but if not, prepare to be there for a while, and dont save the broken bones for anything, they don't even sell =P

This quest is easy soloable at level 26.
You kill the dragonmaw humanoid and they drop these bones that u test. It takes about 10minutes tops
coords are confirmed in wetlands at 50,47-52,46-52,45

How much exp do these quests give for turning them in?&nbsp I'm guessing it's much less than the 3650 + 3050 from the Chest piece.

Edit:&nbsp Found out it's 1200 for finding the guy, and then 1800 + Brutal Item for finishing each.

Dropped by any of the Dragonmaw Orcs: http://classicdb.ch/?npc=1034 Each Orc drops 2 shinbones and you right click them to test them. I am notoriously unlucky but I got 46 Broken Dragonmaw Shinbones before I got the 8 you need.

The Orcs are well spaced out so it is an easy quest. Hardest part might be the alliance.

I think the warrior quest-items are very good. Meybe its because i got the hauberk at lvl 23 and the other 3 at 25 =D

Had 6/8 after 12 kills.&nbsp Then I got netted while a raider ran and agroed 8 more.&nbsp Retaliation rocks.&nbsp =)&nbsp so I ended up with 16 untested bones and got 8/8 with 7 left.

The first 50 I killed I got 4 sturdy bones. Then, I get 7 in a row miraculously. Took about an hour for me.

They are straight across from IronBeard's Tomb at Angerfang Encampment. Wetlands is pretty much inbetween the two. Hope that helps..

I broke 33 of these before getting 8 to find out that my Green Iron leggings were alot better disspointed with them but they do look cool. :)

I'm off now to get the Brutal helm, I best not be disspointed this time becuase I have a green iron helm... Oh well good exp anyway.

Although the reward wasn't as good as what I had I had fun doing the quest for my warrior. I always enjoy venturing into to territory my level should not be (Arathi) as well as territory dominated by Alliance (Wetlands). It was just like way back when I did the Succubus quest on my lock.

In all I got what I needed after 26 kills and dodged a group of allies questing in the area. Needless to say when I got all I needed I ported the hell out of there. Good times....

THESE RETARDED SHINBONES DO NOT DROP! im a lvl40 warrior doin it 4 kicks and this quest is pissing me off. ive been killing these orcs for like a day and NO bones have dropped. is it just me?

got the same problem. I ran around 75% of the wetlands.. still never found it.

it seems that it takes loads of 'em to kill though.. somewhere northern part.

I've searched all over Wetlands, I even found Dragonmaw gate, which only has level 60 mobs.

I found some drawgonmaw scouts and grunts in the southern mountains, but they didn't drop shinbones.

Where are the orcs that drop the shinbones?

Around 42,45 you will find Angerfang Encampment. They drop a lot of shinbones here, not all of them are sturdy though. :)

Follow the road south from hammerfall into the wetlands.
Keep going till you find a v in the road go soutwest of the road towards the mountains you will find Angerfang Encampment.
Plenty of Orcs there make sure you test the shinbobes by right clicking on them once you pick them up.
Each guard drops 2 but only 1 out of 5-6 works so make sure you get your share about 35 it took me.
Pretty easy to kill at lvl 31 warrior

The success rate might have been improved on these. I tested 16 shinbones (from 8 orcs) and got 8 usable Sturdy Shinbones. 50% is nice odds.
