Description

I'll leave it to you to get Tazan's satchel open, and return to me with its contents. The locking mechanism is complex, so it would probably be easiest if you obtained the key.

As you didn't find it on Tazan's body, I can only assume that he left the key in the care of another... Ah, yes, that's right. He had an assistant named Gamon. A drunkard, you'll most likely find him at the tavern. Perhaps you could quietly relieve him of the key.

Go to the Inn, it is just south of the auction house. When you walk in to the door, the guy you have to pickpocket is on your left. He appears to be down on one knee just kneeling in the corner. (He shows up as yellow).

You do not need to kill him!

Stealth, go behind him, then use your pickpocket skill. You will recieve the key. I did on the first try.

From there, just open your bag(s), click on the key, open the chest, and you have completed the quest.

Gamon is in the INN in Orgrimmar. You must pick his pocket to get the key. The key will go into your keyring. Open your bag with the satchel and your keyring. Click on the key, then move the blue hand to the satchel. You may have to try more than once. Once the satchel is open, take the journal.

You only get the dagger now for a reward. Gamon is found in the Inn in Orgrimmar. Wait for him to spawn, stealth, pickpocket and voila.

I just did this with my lvl 13 rogue. He was up, kneeling behind the innkeeper. Stealthed, picked his pockets, got the key. Done.

After the 2.0.1 patch, the key you pick-pocket goes into your keyring rather than one of your bags.&nbsp I had the message that I got the key but couldn't find it, and kept trying for several minutes before I thought about checking my keyring and there it was.

I would have been completely lost without the previous posts.

Gamon was, of course, dead when I arrived. After 3 minutes he respawned (my 14 Troll Rogue was stealthed) and I had no problem picking his pocket. Cheap slug only had about 14 pennies but the key was there. Some random guest at the inn killed him 30 seconds after I got the key.

It took me three tries to get the key to work but it finally did and I turned the book in for an OK dagger. It's the XP that counts.

Unfortunatly poor Gamon gets killed all the time.&nbsp You may have to wait.&nbsp He is too close to the bank and too close to the ah, flight master and entrance not to pose a good target.&nbsp If you want to take out some frustration you go and wack gamon.&nbsp I did it once and even got a green.&nbsp If you are waiting for an auction it's the only thing to do.&nbsp Maybe we should all feel bad about wacking that poor cow.

It took me so long to beat this thing. I got the key and it appeared in my inventory. I lagged out and logged back on and I couldn't find my key. I sent a message to WoW GMs and they told me to redo the quest. Then I came here and I saw how it goes into your keyring, so I beat it! yahay! I have tp admit, its very stresss releiving killing Gamon hehehe

only problem i had with this quest,is i had 'quick loot' mod on,and because the loot box,appers where-ever your mouse is,i couldn't loot it,till i took it off...kind of a pain really,as i'll have to remember to turnn it off everytime i play my rogue,so i can pickpocket.

as for the easiest quest ever,i got a better one,for one of the blacksmithing quests all you have to do is stand there and watch the guy dance...don't even have to go anywhere.

On Spinebreaker, this guy just would not spawn. To get around this pain in the butt Gamon, you'll have to wait untill level 16, when you learn pick-pocket. Once you train that, go to the pirate ship in the Merchant Coast (south of Ratchet). Get onto the ship at the front of it, where the spike sticks out. Took a few tries to get on. Go down one level, then to the back of the boat. There are 6 chests, that spawn every 2 seconds, so you can work your pick-lock to your hearts content. Get it to 80 (which was my cap at the time) then open up the quest satchel and never worry about Gamon again. Hope this helps. *Note, yes, most of this is repeated info from above, but I wanted to put it in one post, not several.

does this quest lead into anything else for rogues?&nbsp I've picked his pocket 4 times now on different occasions and nothing but coins each time.&nbsp Thinking about just abandoning it and forgetting about it... since i'm almost 16 now i don't see a point to it..

I pickpocketed him successfully on the first attempt... Just before some 60 warrior ran up and killed him.&nbsp Stupid question, but are you sure you have the quest to get the key from him?&nbsp If he doesn't have it, someone's probably already pickpocketed it...

As for using it, Right click the key, then left click the bag. It may take a few attempts.&nbsp Or, I think you can just level up to 16 and pick the lock on the bag.

i tried it the first time then it appeared i forgot that it wasnt on auto loot so i just ran out of the inn then i remembered that he had it then i went back and pickpocketed him again and nothing only 19 copper

Anyone else having this problem?:
Everytime I stealth and walk towards him to pick pocket him, he attacks me and unstealths me, so I end up having to kill him and wait for his respawn. This has happened to me OVER and OVER again... I dunno what to do other than just drop the quest...?

This part of the quest is something of a mess. On my realm, Gamon (the NPC who appears in the Orgrimmar inn when the quest is invoked) is routinely killed by PCs sitting in the inn with spare time on their hands. Four times I started the quest (abandon/accept), and all four times I reached the inn to find Gamon's body laying on the floor. After the fourth time, I was unable to get Gamon to appear in the inn again, no matter how many times I abandoned and accepted the quest. Finally, I tried a quick logout, I was able to accept the quest, sprint to the inn, and obtain the key just before someone spotted him and did him in. It seems a poor design to have Gamon appear in such a populous area and have him able to be freely killed by anyone who wants to. As mentioned below, if Gamon has been previously stolen from, pickpocket attempts may not work, and you may need to slay him, abandon/accept the task again, and steal from the newly-arrived Gamon to complete the task. I hope that not every realm is like mine, where interference from high-level idlers seems commonplace. Good fortune!

He is in the Tavern in Ogrimmar to the East of the mailbox click everyone and you will see his name and you can attack him.

NOTE: Make sure not to kill him! you have to pickpocket him.

The key now goes on your keyring, and not in a bag. I couldn't figure out where it was going after I pickpocketed him.

I've never killed Gamon, but I have killed Tazan numerous times. I think we just kill guys with names, in the hope of cool loot.

This quest bugged for me too. I went there and saw Gamon, tried to PP but didn't even get a loot window. Killed him, abandoned quest and toke it again. Went back to gamon and waited for him to respawn. I was the first person to PP this newly spawned Gamon but still no loot window. Did this twice. Then I asked a GM about and and he said that the quest is bugged and that the key cant be obtained and that I have to wait for it to be fixed. I have now managed to get my hands on better weapons then the reward soo I dont care that much. But I will try to lockpick the satchel with my newly learned lockpicking skill =)

The quest is in the Inn in Orgimar near the city gates (don't know why they call it Tavern, just confusing). Gamon stands just to the left of the door when you enter as previously mentioned.

Gamon spawns when killed but it takes a few minutes.

I have two problems with this q:

The first is that Gamon often is killed by other players when he spawns. Pure luck is the only thing against that I suppose.

The second is that my character starts swinging instead of picking the pocket. He complains that he is out of range until I get extremely close, and then he starts fighting, thus losing stealth and forcing me to wait a LONG time for the next spawn.

Any remedy for this anyone?

I just did it on my server, Twisting Nether. When I got to the Inn in Ogrimmar, he was dead. I waited about three-four minutes and he respawned. I stealthed, moved up to him and hit my pick-pocket button. I suspect that siggej's problem was that he was right-clicking on Gamon (to attack him). I got the key, then killed Gamon to reset his pockets for the next person.

Gamon is a Tauren.

Anyone else think of Link when you read the name of Ganon, I mean, Gamon? )

ladies and gents, this is not complicated.

He kneels behind the inn-keeper at Ratchet.
If you fail in picking his pocket by flying to ratchet and attempting the quest, right-click on the inn-keeper and temporarily "Make this Inn your Home".
Fly back to OG.
Drop and Re-Accept the Quest and then Hearth.

Simple. No "get real noob lirn2play", or passive-aggressive countermeasures in this post. This is effective and time-saving... Unless he gets killed during a 10-second cast.

Ok guys, He's in the tavern in orgimarr basically just pickpocket him then kill him. (Killing him resets the loot for other rogues) then use the key u get to unlock the satchel
