If you enter Stonewatch Keep from the south after crossing the bridge, look behind the large broken door on the right. He should be in the far corner of the courtyard along with a few other elite blackrock orcs.

Head south across bridge then left at road dodge the spawn, alternately, swim ESE but there are 25e threshers there, once u get to keep, fight past bridge guards, go behind broken doors, and find two more guards, then a group of three directly across from them and finally the man with three buddies. Each of these mobs can be done without aggroing the other two, but the dying will run for help from these other mobs.

Take a hunter if possible to use human tracking, or a druid in panther mode prowling, much easier to find Tharil.

Just remember he is outside the keep but inside the walls at the SE corner.

Tharil'zun is located in the southwestern section of stonewatch keep and he is surrounded by quite a few elite buddies.

As of patch 2.3 this quest is no longer marked as Elite. However, Tharil'zun is still Elite so if you're planning on soloing this quest, be careful. I entered the area thinking everyone would be non-Elite now, but when I reached Tharil'zun I got my ass handed to me.
I don't know if him still being Elite is a bug or intentional but I guess we'll see in due time.

Solo'ed with 29 warrior. Went straight for Tharil, started with retaliation. Then demorl shout, hamstring, rend and 5 sunder armors. Took a greater healing potion, hit him again and then he ran off and got him with Execute. Quickly looted the body and ran for the hills.
I found him at 69.59...or for those w/o cords...hes in the castle grounds just to the right (if your facing the castle entrance doors) go behind the cracked open door and hell be in the corner...GL

soloed as a 29 hunter. Set ice trap. Sent pet on Tharil'Zun, took agro of 1 mob. whick left the pet tanking 4 mobs, while 1 mob was trapped. Casts GotN, dps Tharil'Zun down, grabed the head and tried to run, I died, but I did solo it ^_^

You must do this in a group of at least two to three. I was at level 30 Pal and couldn't do it alone because you will be surrounded by a few elite humanoids.

It took me and group 3 weeks to get him&nbsp - started at lvl 25 mage and finally got him at lvl 29 - had a priest with us which helped.&nbsp He is behind the door in the courtyard by the bonfire.&nbsp If he has just been done then wait with your group for him to respawn then take one on each - he is only lvl 24 and bodyguards lvl 22/23. Worth it if only for XP

This is a good quest to pair with Wanted: Gath'Ilzogg (http://classicdb.ch/?quest=169) and Shadow Magic (http://classicdb.ch/?quest=115). He's right around the corner from the castle that Gath'ilzogg is in.

I did it as a 26 warrior with a 28 pally, took 3 tries.

The trick is, if you don't have a group, pull as many as you can, then go straight for him.&nbsp You'll die after you kill him, but atleast you kill him.

This guy is a pain in the ass. He has 2 melee bodyguards and a shadowcaller bodyguard too, He's also in a section where there is 4 melee orcs there -- make sure you pull them out first but dont bother trying to seperate Tharil's bodyguards from him, it doesn't work

I just did this quest last night with four other players. Two hunters, a mage, a paladin and a rogue, all in our early to mid 20s. The orcs tend to be bunched up, so it's hard to pull one at a time. I actually died at the gates. Make sure to NOT go into the keep itself, unless you want to get slaughtered. Tharil is actually around the corner from the keep entrance, past the gate. There was an orc summoner (or something) there, but otherwise it was pretty standard swarming melee.

Make sure to pick up the Shadow (something) quest so you can do these at the same time. The orcs drop the midnight orbs and you only have to pick up three, so it's an easy way to get XP.

We were in this area last night with my priest and didn't see him in his usual spot. Did they move his spawn point or is his existence activated by quest ownership? There were no others questing in the area, so it's not a spawn issue.

Im a lvl 29 Palidin and I still cant do it without help. So my advice is to get help. About 3 peaple should do nicely.

Solo'd him on a 27 Assassination Rogue.
Malice, Puncturing Wounds, and Lethality make for some heavy Backstab crits, so I sapped the caster near him, opened with Cheap Shot, Backstabbed, drank a Thistle Tea, got off two more Backstabs before CS expired, popped Evasion as he turned to fight me and his 3 allies swarmed me. I Eviscerated him, tossed on a few Sinister Strikes to finish the deal, and used Vanish to escape after looting his head.

i soloed this as a level 23 paladin.
first i killed all his adds with help from the fishlever oil i got from a previous quest, i also had to use loh and pot, then i just fled and rested and came back and killed Tharil'zun ^^

Try to pull the mobs around him before Tharil himself, this will greatly help you.
Also, be sure the area outisde the room is clear to avoid aggroing more than you can handle.

An easy way is to get someone who can ressurect to wait while you nuke Tharil. When you die, they res you and you can both run in and loot him then get out of there.

Just easily solo'd this with a 29 arcane mage.

Seems easier to do if you go down and around the lake and enter from the south... You can hit the guy by the door easily and then take out the other guy to the far left in the area with arcane missile.
