Pristine Spider Silk (8)

Description

Your service has been unwavering, <name>. I think, perhaps, it is time you had a finer garment, one more suiting your station as an adept mage. If you gather the needed materials, then we will arrange the robe made.

You must enter Duskwood and hunt carrion recluse spiders. Extract their silk, but only the finest, most pristine silk will do. When you have enough, take it to Wynne Larson, here in the mage district at the Larson Clothiers. She will craft your robe.

Don't waste your time searching for Carrion Recluse Spiders as the quest says. They're the green ones that roam around the bank near the river and inside of the graveyard.

Instead, Black Widow Hatchlings to the east of Raven Hill Cemetary drop them all the time and are much, much more common. There's at least 20 or 30 of them to the east of the cemetary.

Spiders are located on the graveyard in the NW of Duskwoods.

Droprate with me was 100% (8 kills -> 8 silks)

Reward item is not very nice. But the exp is quite nice and the quest is fast (griffin to Darkshire -> walk to graveyard, kill 8 spiders -> teleport back)

Took me 10minutes or so and got me a decent item to disenchant and a whopping 4~5k exp (including spiders)

The ONLY place i found these spiders was in raven hill cemetary. And yes they have a 100% drop rate... if your getting less than that.. (probably zero if you are) you are killing the wrong spiders.

ok, the 100% drop rate is on the carrion recluses found scatered in the raven hill graveyard (in the middle near the statue are a couple) The other spiders do drop this silk bu it is very low drop rate and waiting round for spawns of the carrion recluses is a much easier and faster way to complete this quest. If your 26 or under stick at the statue and pick off the spawns... if you're higher than that there are also spawns to the north and the north west side of the graveyard however lots of mobs around and can you can easily get aggro.. look out for the elite aswell.. if u get agro blink away... :P hope i could help! :D

As a level 27 mage, I received 3700 xp for finishing this quest.&nbsp That alone without a garb to disenchant (what I did) made it worth it by a mile.

You can get them from Black Widow Hatchlings at TLOC&nbsp 32, 36 behind the raven hill cemetary. Fastest way to do this easy quest (28 Mage)

I found this easy, I killed 8 and got 8, besides the 35 elite chasing me alot lol I did it in about 10 minutes, maybe the people that can't get it are just really unlucky or you were killing the wrong spiders. The Carrion Recluse are in the Raven Hill Cemetary. Good luck

Got all the silk from the Black Widow Hatchlings outside the cemetery. Drop rate was good, about 1 in 3 dropped the silk. Took about 3 minutes...

The rewards would be good for a lower lvl toon but I did this at lvl 31 and had better...

Rewards are:

Armor:44
+6 Stamina
+6 Intellect
+6 Spirit

Armor 44
+6 Stamina
+9 Intellect

The Carrion Recluse spiders can be found roaming around the undead in the Raven Hill Cemetery in Duskwood. They range in level from 24-26.

For every Carrion Recluse you kill you'll get a pristine spider silk, so you only have to kill 8.

Keep one eye open for Mor'Ladim. He's a named elite mob that roams around the Raven Hill area and is level 35.

When you get all 8 silks, port back to Stormwind and turn them in to Wynne Larson for your crappy cloth reward.

I took the Blouse hoping it had a shirt graphic, as I prefer not to wear a robe. No such luck, it's still a robe on my gnome. Tossed it for my Lesser Wizards Robe that I was already wearing. Nice XP for the effort though.

I got all 8 silks for this quest from lvl 24&25 Black Widow Hatchlings on the 3rd sept 05.It was real easy, there's a north south area on the east side of Raven Hill cemy. All you will see are spiders. It took me half an hour as a lvl 28 mage

the xp is nice, but the q-reward is a joke imo... I mean 2sta and 8 spi... I got robes from dm with 5sta and 11spi, and I had those for at least 6 lvls, time to get new ones... Though this is just bad.
Well, maybe it'll sell nicely ^^ q doesn't sound very hard anyways... Wish pristine hide of the beast had such a nice droprate though...

I mean just go get the Corsairs Overshirt from DM, which looks cool and gives nice stats: 42 armor, +11 spirit and +5 stamina. Its like about 20% drop chance, but I got it on all my alts on like the first or second try ^^
If you fail to get the shirt anyway, I recommend you to just do the quest and use the robe/blouse, but still you can get a better one by going to AH or then getting through gnomeregan, which gives an even better robe: Civinad robes, which give 54 armor 7 stamina and 18 spirit (you get it from the quest The Grand Betrayal.
But still if you dont have anything better then go for the robes! I mean eventhough they are not great, they give the right stats. ^^

Just finished the tower very easy, a lvl 23 pally was around to heal now and then. You can solo it I think though.

Tip: leave morgath alone though. he will not attack if you dont approach to his corner too much

If you are a tailor probably you can already make RObes of Arcana. If not, go to SFK and get robes of Arugal. Easy instance, its hard just to get there cause of the hordie environment )

And again if you are a tailor you are probably used to kill thousands of spiders for one little piece of silk.

The xp is good though

Why would we want a robe with 2 int and 8 spi? Rather opposite, 8 int and 2 spi.

EDIT: I see it wwas 8 spi and 2 sta, but that does it even worse -_-'

I AoEd 2x 5 Black Widow Hatchlings or what ever those black spiders in Duskwood are, and got all silks.. Peace of Cake :)

I think blizzard has edited this quest so the rewards aint that crappy, I could choose from 2 robes,

1. 44armor, 9int, 6sta
2. 44armor, 6int, 6sta, 4spi (or something like that but it was version with spirit)

pretty nice exp and done in 2min + travelling.
