Laughing Sister's Hair (12)

Description

For your services, I have arranged for the creation of your new robes, provided you can gather the needed materials...

For these robes, you must return to Ashenvale for the locks of hair from laughing sisters--dryads who gather near the Raynewood Retreat.

When you have their hair, bring it to Kil'hala, a troll tailor at the Crossroads in the Barrens. He will be expecting you, and will fashion your robes.

60,55.&nbsp Don't even try going near the pretty white tower because the guards will hand you your ass.

Drop rate at or near 100%

-also they have some fire resistance so it's best to use arcane

...as I have observed they are not resistant to all schools. They are highly resistant to Fire, yes, but they are not resistant to Frost nor Arcane. They are also resistant to shadow (I tried with my shadow damage wand and a lot of the damage was resisted).

So go throw some Frostbolts or Arcane Missiles at them.

They've redone the stats on the rewards for this quest.&nbsp The new stats are:

Nether-lace Robe:
44 ac
6 Sta
6 Int
6 Spi

Nether-lace Tunic:
44 ac
6 sta
9 int

After the 2.0 patch, before the storm, the reward is now Nether-lace Robe, A much more suiting reward for a mage quest, might I add.

Right sisters have high resistance to magic, and quest has not got good rewards. But each sister drops head also while I was killing sisters on loc:57,58 (cosmos) a panther (at lvl28) attacked me from back. Killed it, and received an item (Shadumbra's head) from its loot that starts a quest. Collected all sisters head, returned to Siplentree Post gave Shadumbra's head to Senani Thunderheart, travelled to Barrens by wind raider. Gave the sister's hair (or head lol) to Kil'hala. Finally gained: 12x135+1x180+2200+1600+2100 xp + a nice robe in a very short time

So I just spent an hour doing the chain, and the robe is totally crap. What a waste of time. Ofcourse you don't to ignore a class quest, but what a disappointment.

As for Horde, you can fill the can with water from the Xavian Lake Waterfall which you can find North of Falfarren River. The river is just West of Splintertree Post.

Laughing Sisters: I am frost specced sofar, and found they resisted frost a little to often for me to use it, so I just hit them with the Arcane Missles, Frost Nova, Missle them some more. If they resist the Nova I hit the Cold Snap and gave the Nova another go. You could also Blink away and Missle again. Really not a difficult quest just expect a lot of resists.

Why could Blizzard have given level 26 mages a quest which involves killing mobs with high magic resistances to some schools?
Maybe it's because a level 26 mage should learn how to deal with mobs which resist to his magic.

Doing this quest (for the 3rd time.. don't ask.)

They seem to have high elemental resists. So don't approach with your usual "Frostbolt, Fireball, Frost Nova routine..."

Just go straight out with arcane missiles and watch them die. Easiest quest for a long time. Yes the rewards not too great, but you can't complain about another easy Ashenvale quest.

This quest I found easy. The robes werent worth it at all but the exp was. All you have to do is run around killing this sisters and yeah they were riesting my magic attacks but I found if I used archane missles, fireball, and either cold of cone, archane explosion, or fire blast, they rather died quickly.

They should alter the quest so you get a nice mage cape instead.

40 armor, 6 intel, 6 spirit 6 stamina sounds nice.

This is like the earlier quest that you need to do in Dalaren, nice for xp but the reward is crap.

i can confirm sisters at 60,55 as well as easy chain quest. sisters have 100% drop rate.. as far as total xp from chain i got 7326 xp for this including killing mobs took maybe 20 min tops even if you have better robes like robes of arugal still worth doing for the easy xp!

Someone said reward is better now so I guess I will finish it and see. Checked here first to see how hard it was and if it was worth it, I will update as soon as I finish.

Pretty good, 6stam 6int 6spir on one 9int, 6stam on other quest is really easy, think I will keep my Azure Silk Vest and DE this though

Tough?&nbsp Not a bit.&nbsp 26 fire mage, 12 sisters down in probably 6-7 minutes, 2 of them resisted a fire spell or 2.&nbsp

Pyroblast, fireball, fireblast, frost nova, fireball, fireblast, wand.&nbsp Piece of cake.

Since no one else has mentioned it, you should know that the area where you kill for this quest is also the patrol path of Shadumbra, who you need to kill for The Ashenvale Hunt.&nbsp Pick up that quest and you can do them at the same time -- Shadumbra's almost certain to show up within the time it takes you to grind twelve Sisters, and she walks right through the middle of the open area.&nbsp If you don't see her when you arrive, keep an eye out -- she has a nasty habit of walking up behind people too.

Very good drop rate on the quest items but i found the sisters were fairly resistant to Frost ( being a frost mage ). Wasnt a problem kiting them though.

i Guess the drop rate must be very high, if not 100 %. they are pretty easy to kill, but resisted alot of my spells most of the frost spells, but since im fire specced that didnt bother me too much

map over the sisters and drops:

I'd recommend doing this quest just for the experience. I got 1600 exp for handing in the hair, and another 2100 exp when he finished the robe (only five seconds or so, just had to wait).

Even if the robe was vendor trash, it's worth it to get the easy 3700 exp for maybe a half hour's work.

Go to 58,50 and kill the sisters.

Easy to kill (I am lvl 27 undead mage) and the drop rate is great!

My results:
2100 EXP
And a shavy Tunic/Robe :)

By Anonymous on 06/27/2006 (Patch 1.11.0)
Tunic at the end of the quest has same amount of int and have +1 more sta than robes of arugal. I'd say just do this quest if you're a mage to save yourself some grief fromt trying to acquire the robe. It will be replaced by 33 or 35 anyways.

as a lvl 27 mage, drop rate was one after another, but i agree with warrwindfury, i got a better robe from Argual, all stats rather than just a couple. Disappointed and only doing it for xp

go here http://www.cosmosui.org/ and download the alpha so you can see the cords on the map :D
