Dalaran Mana Gem (6)

Description

It is time for you to don your first mage's robes, <name>. They are a sign of your station, and a testament to your worth.

To gain the robes, you must gather the mana gems from the Dalaran mages of Silverpine. Their beliefs are similar to ours and so killing them is somewhat distasteful, but if they lack the strength to resist us, then they do not deserve their lives.

Bring the gems and a supply of linen to Josef Gregorian at the Magic Quarter's tailor shop.

This quest leads to "Spellfire Robes" (https://classicdb.ch/?quest=1962) which gives you "Lesser Spellfire Robes" (https://classicdb.ch/?item=7510) as the reward.

Head to Ambermill in SIlverpine located around 55,65. Try to stay on the outskirts as fast respawns and multiple mobs can aggro on you quickly. The protectors can spawn little snake guardians so IAE helps with them. While here you'll collect the linen you require as well. Can also pick up this quest (https://classicdb.ch/?quest=479) and get both done at the same time.

Once you enter Ambermill, stay on the outskirts and snipe the protectors. A well placed AE does wonders against the conjured Snakes, which don'd do much damage but interrupt your casting something fierce. Running into the center of the Ambermill isn't really advisable, too fast respawns and too many mobs in there. With my first Mage, I did it, and had it not been for some level -?- Night Elf rogue coming around by chance and saving my undead hiney, I'd have had a premature sleep with the wormies.

This quest stacks well with any of the other Sepulcher Ambermill quests.

I guess you get this quest at 16, not 18.

But, was able to easily complete it..the mobs you fight around 55,55 or something like that - basically just go down the road south of the sepulcher, and before you get to shadowfang keep, on your right side are these mages mixes in with bears. they are all around level 14.

they drop about every third kill or so...

good luck.

If you come from from the Bloodelf lands then you most likely already did the quest 'A Simple Robe' in Tranquillien (http://classicdb.ch/?quest=9488). The stats are the same.

I came across a Dalaran Apprentice (lvl 13) near the road, at 52, 56, and he dropped 3 linen and 1 gem.

There's a tent with a few more up ahead and to the right a little. Easy for a lvl 17.

Just follow the road south of Sep.

You will see the apprentices on the right hand side amongst some bears, near a couple of tents.
If you are on your own you will need to kill the mobs a couple of times to get the gems. The linen drops really fast, however the gems are slow to drop.

Hope this helps whole quest alone took me around 15min including waiting on respawns. :)

Spellfire Robes
Soulbound
Chest Cloth
28 Armor
+2 Intellect
+2 Spirit
Durability 50
Classes: Mage

Appearance is a dark red with a pattern toward the back of the feet... pretty cool but stats are weak for the level IMO (I *was* excited at the quest... and disappointed in the reward). Although I did get like 2000 experience for handing in the stuff and then picking up the robe (immediately afterwards).

Dalarans are south of the Sepulcher in Silverpine. A good place to go is Abermill at 55, 60. All Dalarans drop the item, not just the Mages - not sure why the quest says that, perhaps it was changed but they never changed the text.

Nearby Dalaran Apprentices also have the Mana Gems. They are easier targets, both in level, and are not accompanied by a "Protector."

Kind of pointless to do this as a BE mage, I discover after doing this halfway...
Manaweave Robe :|
Gray Woolen Robe is better in any case.
