The Second Rebellion

Kill 15 Kurzen Jungle Fighters.

Return to Sergeant Yohwa at the Rebel Camp.
  •
Kurzen Jungle Fighter slain (15)

Description

We're fighting a losing battle with Colonel Kurzen. Not only is he a brilliant tactician, he outnumbers us at least 10 to 1! To survive, we need to use his own, covert tactics against him.

Enter his camp to the east and kill his men. Lots of them. And get out before reinforcements can close on you.

Be sure to pick up the 'Bad Medicine' quest when you're doing this one. The fighters and medicine men are all at the same camp.

Hey guys,

The location to find Kurzen's Compound is 43.9, this will put you in front of the compound with the Jungle fighters on the right side of the Ruins (the East) and the Medicine Man to the left of the ruins (West). I attacked a Medicine man to see the accuracy of these rezz claims and when i attacked him with Pet (target was lvl 32) he died quite quickly. My character is a 34 NE Hunter and my pet is a 33 Bear. Have fun on this quest, its quite easy. I have also provided a screenshot for you for visual reference.

PS: Just before i finish, DO NOT go inside the ruins u see, there is a mob of lvl 35 commando's inside, i just found out the hard way.

PPS: right so now i know what you mean, that the medicine man heals the jungle fighter, i will try to separate them to avoid them being rezzed. will let ya know if it worked.

An easy quest except for one thing. Avoid the medicine men. Although they are nominally lvl 32, they keep rezzing themselves and are extremely hard to kill. I fought with one (as a 36 Druid), healed myself 3 times, lots of big hits on him and when he killed me, he had rezzed 5 or 6 times and was at full health.

Went back and killed 2 others. Same problem but this time I whacked them in bear form. They're not invincible but they are the equivalent of 34 or 35 Elites. Lots and lots of work for very little reward. Not worth your time unless they're part of a quest.

The solution to the 'medicine man' problem should be obvious enough.&nbsp One word... Felhunter.

For laughs I had my felhunter solo a medicine man.&nbsp After 5 minutes they were still duking it out and I got bored and stepped in.

They *are* pretty tough and I'm not sure I'd want to take on 2 at a time but w/ the right pet they are easy to solo.

Oh, I'm lvl 33.

Update:

So I toggle back to WoW after submitting the post above and lo and behold there's a medicine man right on top of me!&nbsp Good thing I had the felhunter on defensive )

Just like before they were going toe to toe with neither being able to gain the upper hand.

The medicine dosn't seem to ress anymore, but they heal themself alot, even healing over time.

They really are no problem if you can counterspell properly. I let a medicine man heal for 3 times just for fun on my level 31 mage, and i ended up killing it when I had 50 hp and 40 mana left. Quite nasty.

However, just counterspell ftw and youre victorius!

I did this quest as a lvl 34 warlock and it was pretty simple.&nbsp Tackling the medicine men wasn't too difficult for a warlock: cast Curse of Tongues on them immediately so it takes twice as long for them to heal themselves (or at least it seemed that way) and, when they're low on health and attempt to heal, finish them off with shadowburn.

easy for rogues, soloed this at 34.&nbsp they usually heal when there health is about halfway down so make sure your kick ability is ready and just finish them off.

As others have said no problem for a lvl33 Rogue with their high dps and who are ready with their kick. Wound and crippling poisons on the daggers help a lot&nbsp too.
I used the wound to slow their healing spells (stackable to 5) and crippling so they didn't run off to cry to their buddies.
If the place is busy and adds aren't a worry then I would go with wound and mind numb poisons.

They try to heal when you take them down less than 50% health and turn and run when less than around 25%.

for the medicine men, i owned 1 as a 34 arms spec. warrior. just use rend and then save up rage for execute. Having Deeps Wounds helps too if you get a crit on them because it does more dmg than rend most times.

I also found a special tactic for warriors that are not protection talented..&nbsp Just get you're rage build up, the target will heal itself 1 or 2 times, that is possible. When u have enough rage (I recommend 60 - 100), and the target has 50% hp (it doesn't heal when it still has 50%), activate you're heroic strike ability, then try to execute it as soon as possible, it will eventually die.

Hope this works fellow warriors!

I am a level 32 feral druid and i went to do this quest after reading this, thinking damn another hard quest, turns out its easy as hell.&nbsp I just took on a medicine man and 2 fighters, only had to heal once and i kicked there asses. Guessing that level 36 druid doesn't know how to play druids.&nbsp Only reason i had to even heal once is i didn't see the 2 fighters, i was after the medicine man. :P

those thrice-cursed medicine men i could take, i simply had to run them out of mana (took a while, using Seal of Justice) or kill them quickly (Seal of Command)

wasnt hard tho did at 34 with my loc. well spaced out,so easy to pull on there own. Found the med-men a bit more of a pain as they never seem 2 die as they heal and have fast recovery.

have fun :)

This isnt a hard mission, it just requires that you be very careful. They Jungle Fighters wander around near the Medicine Men. If you're not a class that can steal an enemy's mana, the MM are very tough - they heal themselves and regen mana fast. Try to get a good angle on the Fighters to make sure no MM agro you also.

This quest is annoying. A lot of the Kurzen Jungle Fighters are in side of larger mob pulls from 4 - 6 people. Or sometimes there is none and the respawns keep staying Kurzen Medicial Man.

soloed this as a 31 ret paladin. pretty easy, just have to take out one at a time. the warrior type guys where a piece of cake but the Medicine Men where kinda tough. They renew and have a heal which brings them back to full health but seal of justice procs pretty comfortably. :)

also, 45.11 are correct coords from a cosmos user.
