Morganth

Defeat Morganth.

Bring his Pendant of Shadow to Theocritus at the Tower of Azora in Elwynn Forest.
Pendant of Shadow

Description

After much observation, I have discovered Morganth's plans.

He searches for the Scythe of Elune...and he may have found it! If he has, then the Redridge Mountains, and the kingdom of Stormwind, will soon feel his dark might.

I am not prepared to pit myself against Morganth, but I fear he must be dealt with now. So you must enter the Tower of Ilgalar and face Morganth.

Defeat him, and bring me his Pendant of Shadow. Do this, and the kingdom will owe you much.

This quest can also be picked up from the Lion Statue near the Tower of Ilgalar in Redridge&nbsp - the same one you used in 'A Watchful Eye'.

Lot quicked to walk from the tower in 'Looking Further' rather then having to go all the way back to Elwynn Forest to speak to Theocritus.

Five of us lvl25-32 (3 mages, 1 priest, 1 druid) went up and wiped the top floor of the tower in one fight. Much fun. ^_^ Like a mage should, Morganth stays out of the melee, so I (32 mage) had to go after him one on one. Without his buddies to protect him, he went down easily.

This quest is actually part of a series. You must do the "A Watchful Eye" and then the "Looking Further" quests first to get this one (by going back and talking with Theocritus afterwards).

First of all, you don't have to get the Glowing Pendant to start the questline. You can start it at the Tower of Azora before hand.

Secondly, he also summons a level 30 Abomination (Undead). The summon has a cast time I noticed but I am not sure if it's interruptable or not. When I did it most recently, it was him, a succubus, and 2 Shadow Caster Gnolls.

We 2 manned him... Druid and Shaman. I (druid) tanked while the shaman healed, dropped totems, and auto-attacked my target.

If you want good shoulders, get Feline Mantle from Shadowfang Keep... This quest isn't worth the trouble.

Almost impossible to get a group for this one to do it at the proper level given the rarity of the glowing pendant drop and the lack of incentive to grind Shadowhide gnolls. He's got a succubus, a caster, and a melee fighter with him. Bring a high-level friend.

This Quest actually begins at Theocritus at the tower of Azora, it is available from him after completing "Looking Further" http://classicdb.ch/?quest=248

"greatly increased" my reputation with Stormwind.

Darnassus + .00317
Gnomeregan + .00633
Ironforge + .00617
Stormwind + 0.025

Pretty decent gain, not to mention almost 3k exp.

actually I got 2750 XP plus the shoulders and it was very useful to me at level 27, since I haven't run any instances yet.&nbsp

so I think that whole 280 XP isn't correct.

Duo-ed him hunter-mage at lvl 30.

First time we tried to take him out first, that was a mistake.

Second time we took out both guards, then his pet, then him, and then the Ogre that is summoned when he dies.

Fun, challenging fight.

Go to the Tower of Azora, someone gives the quest there. As the others say, you need to complete the quests listed before you do this one.

He summons a level 30 patchwerk, so myself 27 lock and 23 mage went in. I put void on 1 guard and feared the succy, mage then sheeped the elite.

I changed target with void so he had aggro on both guards, dotted both up and refeared the succy.

Guards then stopped existing, resheeped the elite, killed the succy, then when we went to kill the elite he summoned a level 30 patchwerk just before dots killed him. We looted and ran.

Did this first go.

Nice fight, enjoyed it.

When you kill Morganth a big stitches like mob appears . He is lvl 30 and very easy to kill , had no problems killing him with a 28 mage and 28 pally . Also the spawn times of the other mobs in this tower are fairly quick so dont leave yourself out of mana .

I just barely soloed this as a 31 arms warrior in sub-par gear. Getting up the tower was easy, then I decided to kill the other groups at the top. My first death happened when one caster ran into Morgath and it all failed.. but I managed to ressurect before anything much respawned.

Then I healed up and charged (and killed) the succubus. I popped sweeping strikes and retaliation, and beat on Morgath (level 28 elite) using heroic strikes and rends. Around 30% or so he summoned a big abomination level 28, but I focused attacks on Morgath, and executed him, then looted fast, then died. Managed to ressurect outside and complete the quest.

It's not too hard for level 30+ to solo, but a group is certainly recommended..

Solo'd him easy as a 33 priest. Killed the mobs slowly on the way up to him, then used mind control on Morganth himself. Used him to kill his servant, then he died and I easily polished off the rest.

For some reason I couldn't loot him... maybe because I mind controlled him? Not sure.... going to try again on a respawn.

Can this actually be Worn by a lvl 19 Priest Twink? The glowing shard of azora quest is attainable at level 15, so i thought i could get some help and have a green shoulder on my twink.

Anybody knows?

Part of long quest line, pretty tough, DO NOT attempt alone.

reward isnt that special if your not a preist or any other class that uses cloth.

Not sure what sly is saying, i EASLY solo him at 35 hunter, and the first time i went to that tower for earlyer part of that quest i went to the top and pwned him then too. He is only 27 not elite or anything. It was a joke of a fight for my 35 hunter.

After you kill him go back to the tower in elwynn forest to finish quest.

I beat him solo as a level 30 prot paladin. Use Shadow Resistance Aura to reduce damage from the shadow caster gnolls and the succubus. I killed the gnolls first, then the succubus, and then Morganth was fairly easy after I had healed up. Seal and Judgement of Light can be useful if he summons the Abomination and you're on low health/mana.
