Looking Further

Climb the intact watch tower beside Stonewatch Keep.

Find a suitable container to place the Glyph of Azora.
Glyph of Azora
Provided Item:
Glyph of Azora

Description

I have been watching the Tower of Ilgalar, and can detect that Morganth is in conflict with the Orcs in Stonewatch Keep. I do not know the reason behind their contention, but you may aid me in unraveling this mystery.

Take another Glyph of Azora, then go to the top of the intact watch tower beside Stonewatch Keep.

Find a suitable object on which to place the Glyph. A chest or a jar -- some place where the glyph will not be noticed -- will suit my purpose.

Don't do the same mistake as I did and don't go to the top of the Tower of Ilgalar... The right tower is Stonewatch Tower at 63,50, which you should already know since you read the quest, didn't you?

There are elite orcs inside which I think can be pulled alone, so the quest is soloable. As a rogue or druid it's quite easy, but you need to kill the two orcs at the top of the tower to get close enough to the quest object.

With my level 23 Mage I could not get a group to gether so

I froze the Elites at the entry. Ran up the Stairs, Died. When I came back I rezed at the top -- froze the Elites -- finished the quest, Died. Then, I accepted rez sickness paid 15s 20c for repairs.

Not elegant, but it worked.

Also, You may not have time to read the whole message --- return to the Lion for another mission

It is entirely possible to solo this without aggroing anything. Die at the bottom (no need if stealth, obviously) then go up tower and get on the thin ledge right beside the shadowcaster and the barrel. Make sure you are not in his line of sight. Wait for the sentry to walk away to the other side of the stairs. Resurrect, click on barrel. If done correctly, you won't aggro caster (line of sight) or the fighter. Then (in my case) sheep fighter and run across to jump off at other side for a clean getaway. Soloed as lv25 mage.

Just FYI: there is in fact a follow-up, though you don't get it immediately after putting the pendant in the jar (as with most follow-ups). You gotta go back to Theocritus at the Tower of Azora, and you'll get this quest:

You folks talking about Ilganar tower are at the wrong tower for this quest.&nbsp The one for this quest is North West of Stonewatch Keep, not North East.&nbsp If you get to the top floor and see Morganth, you are at the wrong tower (you will know because if you see Morganth you are so dead).

There's a lot of towers here! The one you want is the one that looks just like Azorza's Tower model, across from the one with the clock on it. If you came up the road from the mill, you'll make a right on the road to Stonewatch, and you'll be faced with the first set of Blackrock Elite guards next to a flag. This tower is to your right at the top of the hill.

One caution, the respawn time is fairly fast for the ground mobs, so don't mess around trying to pick off one at a time or respawn and wandering patrols will get you. Inside the tower the respawn is slower and you can take your time.

Dont forget to go back to the statue after completing this quest...it will give you a quest to kill the mage in the other tower..

A rogue should be able to do this without dying, while other classes need not die more than once.

After rezzing or stealthing to the top, make sure you place yourself on the ledge out of line of sight of the stationary guard you will be on the side closest to the guard but farthest from the center of the tower.&nbsp If the scout is on the other side of the tower and you are placed properly then neither mob will be able to see you when you bug the jar and you can hearth out or use whatever escape suits your class and fancy.

Be careful of the scout who patrols the stairs.&nbsp He likes to come all the way up and spoil the plans of incautious adventurers.&nbsp Also remember that you will automatically unstealth when you jump, so try not land in the path of the lower patrol with a ten second cooldown on your stealth and nowhere to run.

Make sure you are in the right tower, it is near Stonewatch Keep, immediately northwest of it, and is named Stonewatch Tower. Put your head down and run into the tower, as far as you can. You will be killed, but if you get at least onto the ramp you can rez at the very top of the tower, next to the barrels on the ledge.

Stay out of sight of the Shadowcaster, rez on the ledge behind the barrels. Wait for the wandering around guard dude to be far away, rez, and immediately right click the jar on the barrels before the wandering guard goes aggro and alerts the caster. This will let you do it solo, took me two tries as 24 warrior.

Easiest way for a hunter to do this quest is with a partner.&nbsp That said, here's how I didn't follow my advice and soloed into the tower.

Start by sending your pet to attack the guards in the tower.&nbsp Then run past the fighting up the stairwell.&nbsp If you have time, I dropped a freeze trap to buy myself a little more time.&nbsp

About half way up the tower, you'll encounter more orcs.&nbsp Use an aspect besides cheetah here or it will be a long painful walk.&nbsp Hopefully, your pet has bought you enough time to reach the top of the tower and die.&nbsp You will die.

So here's the tricky part.&nbsp Go back a rezz in on the platform just before the top of the tower.&nbsp Make sure the guard patrolling the stairs is on the bottom part of his patrol when you rezz.&nbsp Revive your pet and quickly heal yourself (bandage or potion).

Now, send your pet to attack the orc standing by the jar.&nbsp Hopefully, this will pull both guards.&nbsp If not, have your pet attack the one who's attacking you.&nbsp Hopefully, you'll be free to open the pot.&nbsp Once you complete the quest, jump off the side.

In the end you'll have a completed quest a pet whose very angry with you.&nbsp Nothing a few treats can't fix :)

just make your way to the top of the tower and rez just behind the barrels.

if there is an orc patrolling, make sure he is out of range before you rez.

then just jump off the tower and run!

WARLOCK: Put out your VW before attempting anything. Run towards the entrance of the tower, as soon as something hits you use your VW's sacrifice. Allow yourself to die when close/in the tower. Res about 3/4 up the tower, on the stairs when the roaming orc is down far enough to not be aggro'ed. Summon your VW again and run up to the top of the tower, setting your VW on both orcs. This should give you enough time to click on the jar and hop off the tower.

I soloed as a 21 hunter, it was fairly tough, and I died like 3 times.

Whenever I had to fight two mobs, I'd solo one of the Scouts that shoot their bow (So I could still shoot them) and I'd have me pet tank one of them, then just go all out and hope you can dish out enough damage.

Right as I walked out of the tower there were respawns.

Most of the mobs I could solo pull, those were easy as pie.

Just tried this, its a royal pain in the neck. I could not do anyting without drawing attention from both gaurds. I'm a priest so not sure if my agro range is bigger than a mages. In the end my rogue hubby came in and held off the 2 gaurds while I got the quest done. He however had no trouble at all. Before he died helping me he killed one of the gaurds, so he rez'd on the platform below the top, stealthed up, waited for the hunter to go away, saped the remaining gaurd, done quest and jumped over the edge ........ I wish I was a rogue sometimes lol

My friend and me made it quite easily. We were lvl 23 and 25 rogues, we just sneaked passed all the guards (picking their pockets on the way of course) to the top, where we sapped the melee guard, killed the mage, then the melee and at last the one patrolling up and down the stairs. After putting the statue, we jumped off the tower and sneaked away.

Over-leveled characters (by which I mean, able to solo one of the elites - I did it at 30) can complete this one easily by abusing the resurrection mechanic. Run straight in and die. It appears that there is no vertical distance check for ressurecting yourself, so go up to the top of the tower as a ghost. There should be two mobs up top, plus a wanderer who occasionally climbs the stairs. Watch their movements for a bit (in my case, one stood stationary and the other patroled, so I positioned myself on the opposite side from the one who was still), and res yourself when you're only going to aggro one of em. (It helps to have potions, mana gems/healthstones, or other such prepared in advance.) Worst case, you die killing the one, and then can make a second corpse run to deal with the second. Best case, you kill the first, rest up, kill the second (or sheep, let your pet tank it, etc), and then jump off.

Ok....I did this solo with a few characters - some definitively easier than with others.

Ok....for anyone doing this....get naked before doing this...dying is part of doing this solo, so no need to dmg your perfectly good armor.

Now...Anyone with a pet....get rid of pet, and bulldoze your way into the tower. Sacrifice one life to make this easier for the next. Take your spirit to the top of the tower and stand in the area with the container. There are three mobs, two are non-stationary mobs....one goes down the stairs, the other does a wedding march in a U shape pattern with the stairs at the top of the U. Wait for him to reach the stairs after having passed you from right to left - this will put him the furthest away from you as he is going to be. Now rez and get pet up - the stationary caster mob will aggro...sic pet on him first. Wait until pet has the aggro and then change targets so the pet gets the aggro of the wedding marching mob (I say this as he takes a step, stops, thinks about taking another step and then repeats this process). Now with both mobs aggroed on your pet (hopefully you did this with the other wondering mob already having gone down the stairs first) click on the glass and make a jump and a run for it. If you have feign death....get away from the tower and feign - otherwise keep running and you should be able to get out of aggro range before you die. If your a priest, cast levitate before jumping and head towards the water when you leap.

If your a non-pet carrying member, find a buddy to be your pet....both rezzing at the top, the "pet" first so as to gain aggro. If both of you need the quest...dont jump and just die again at the top, changing roles on the second go around...then jump and run once your both are done.

We did it the other day with a level 27 Warrior, level 24 Paladin, and a 21 Hunter.

The whole trick is pull them out one at a time. The outside has 4 (21-22 Elites, one walkin in and old, three at gate stationary), a wandering caster (which we ganked), two inside ground floor, then mebe three, each on a interval of the stairs and one on top floor.

Lvl 25 rogue.

Managed to stealth all the way to the top of the tower. There was a slowly patrolling mob and one next to the empty jar. A third patrol climbed up and down the tower. I wait until the potrolling mob was _almost_ to the other side of the tower and the other patrol was on the way back down. Then I sapped the stationary patrol, completed the quest, then simply jumped down from the tower towards Althers Mill.
