As of 2.2, this is no longer a group chain. Easily soable, and I soloed the ogres as a level 17 rogue - no problems.

Keep in mind that a lot of the above comments are pre-2.2, and really don't apply anymore.

Do the quest Mercenaries at the same time. Will save a lot frustration )

Like many of the others I had to kill tons of the orges to get the crystal (which I just got). But get this, I had just gone up a lvl and had only 23 XP when I started killing the orges...I came out with 15,053 XP (My XP bar was blue) when I was done just from killing orges! When I did get the crystal it was at the enterance to the stronghold found near the coords 75,30&nbsp Good luck guys!

ok, I was all happy about it, but now I've killed about 30 spiders and still no venom thing... it seems&nbsp the quest gives u the fist items first, but after that u gotta waste your whole day for the rest...

A Small tip: The lvl 22 Rare spawn has 100% chance to drop the Crocolisk Tear

The Crystal wasn't that hard for me to get. I did this in conjunction with Mercenaries, and the crystal dropped before I'd killed all the mobs for that quest. The Lurker venom took the longest. I had killed every spider around the lake when it finally dropped around 28,18.

I went with a 38 hunter and a 40 rogue and we got it in a hour, the other stuff I got on my first kills. (Im a 21 warrior)

over three nights i probably did 2-3 hours a night..over 200 killed..still, got decent rep and xp for it. just be prepared for along haul on the crystal.

I did this as a 20 lock. There are three entrances to the ogre camps, so I cherry-picked 18 and 19 elites of all types until I got the drop, took about 15 ogres. Oddly the hardest drop for me was lurker venom.

BTW there is a 22 Elite rare spawn croc that dropped a Loch Croc Hide Vest - not useful for me but was a interesting auction item.

wow, I don't wanna piss y'all off, but I got it at my second ogre.... took me about 2 minutes for the crystal, now going for the other items. Maybe you should go for the crystal first.

finally got the venom, felt like forever, about half an hour of killing them... but I did get it

the crocolisk tear I got on my third croko, so basically one of the items took forever, the rest were fast. so, start with the ogres first, since they are harder to kill, cuz they seem to give u the items faster that way, and then go for the easier ones I guess.
Overall this quest took about an hour.

I want to add one more thing. The cordonates are good, but u don't need to kill any Dark Iron Agents. Don't know why that guy put that there. U gotta kill crocos on the edge of the lake, in the same area.

I tried doing this quest tonight. It was annoying! I mean, the venom and tear weren't by any means hard to get, but it's that goddamned crystal! We killed so many ogres, but STILL couldn't find it.

Damned ogres.

Finding the crystal was not that easy. We had to go through a few ogres but one of the ogres inside the cave dropped it. I was fortunate to have had help finding the crystal. As I was killing ogres outside the cave, two other players were doing the same quest and invited me to join the group. If you're having difficulty with this part of the quest, ask two or three players to help you out.

killed 1 croc,. 1 spider both dropped the item,

my second ogre dropped the crystal, he wandered outside of that stronghold/

reall easy, completed this in 5mins

lvl 23 hunter

I'm a level 25 Paladin and have had this in my quest log since reaching level 15. I have completed all the other Loch Modan quests available to me up to now as well as tens of other quests from different locales, yet still have this one to finish - all because of the unbelievably slim chance of the bleedin' crystal being dropped.

In completing the main Mo'grosh quest my group must have waded through about 20 of these giants and still no crystal. This quest has now gone grey, the XP points have been lost and I'm still no nearer getting the thing.

Goodbye life, it's been fun while it lasted <places .357 magnum to head>...

Confrim off an Enforcer

I got the crystal after 10 random kills. I am a lvl 26 paladin.

Easily done as a priest. (level 18)

Obviously, Crocs and spiders are easiest part.

When taking on the Ogres, take on one at a time, and ONLY go for Enforcers level 18. Firstly Mind Blast them, then use your wand until you get to about 20% health, throw up a shield, heal and carry on wanding.

Did it after 3 enforcers, pretty lucky to be honest.

As for other classes (unless you're a hunter or warlock) you'll have to wait til a higher level

Edit/ I dinged at 18 handing in the quest which leads to this one, I did not have any level 18 priest spells or gear at this point.

Ok, i've killed at least 40 of these things and no crystal. I seem to remember on another character that i got it on the first kill on the ogre on the outside of the compound as you are heading there from the dam, but i couldn't be as lucky this time. This is definetly a quest that blizzard needs to rework the drop rate. At this point, i am about ready to give up on the quest chain.

Did this quest with a lvl 18 Hunter and my Bear pet, with no outside help, took about 20mins. this is my first WoW char and it didn't seem as hard as you guys made it out to be. I bought a ton of potions and food thinking it was going to be ultra hard.

i know its been a few years since ne one posted here but i was reading it cause iv only just bought the game and this quest was easy. i got all 3 items after killing them only 4 times each LOL

That crystal is kinda retarded. I soloed the entire quest, sticking to the ogres that wandered around the entrance. I finally got the drop after killing tons and tons of the big bastards.

Did get quite a few nice greens, though.

The Mo'Grosh Crystal is a pain the butt. I'm a level 27 hunter, so this quest should be fairly easy for me, considering all the Mo'Grosh Ogres are grey...
But nonetheless, I died twice, killed at least 25-30 of a random assortment of Mo'Grosh dudes, and not one of them dropped the crystal.
Be aware that you must apparently have ALOT of patience...Or a group that can hopefully get a higher kill per minute rate, so you can find the crystal faster.

The Crystal was hard to get.. I had to kill 20 Mo'grosh to get it..
and to get the venom i had to kill few spiders...

I killed a whole buttload of every type of ogre and as of yet have recieved nothing? Why? I don't know. Stupid crystal. Just get some other quests in the area and do those, and hope that something drops what you need.

I'm guessing that picking up the Croc Tear and Venom before heading out for the Crystal are a better bet?

My bf's Human Warlock picked up the crystal on the second elite monster in, but I've gone in with my lvl 23 NE Rogue and must have killed 20 so far! I've even tried pickpocketing them all the way to the frontdoor step.

Still haven't found one.

i have killed 10 ogres and no crystal, i have killed 35 spiders and no venom, but the 2nd croc i killed dropped the tear. which spiders do i kill? i have killed the higher lvl ones around stronghold i have killed medium lvl ones around bingles crash site, i have killed the very low lvl ones behind thelsamar which ones do i kill none of them have dropped venom can someone help me please?

once u set up a kill zone, just pick them off, real easy! got the crystal after about 20 kills, but took no time at all.
If ur a Gnome mage, just fireball the mystics, they run out of mana quickly.
the lvl 19's are easy too, all i done was frostbolt, fireball, fire blast, frost nove, run back, fire blast and arcane missiles too finish them. wasn't hard,
If your about too run out of mana just do a mana shield and use your wand!

i got a venom sac yet it does not show that i have completed that part of the quest...

Both myself and the person I grouped with got the crystal on the first Brute we killed. We got lucky I think.

I banged my head against the wall for the longest time on my 18-20 level Rogue. The Crocolisk and Lurker items were easy enough (first kills each time), but those Ogres... I could just barely handle one at a time, and that's IF my Backstab went off. And a Shaman didn't wander by. And I got decent Sinister Strikes.

So I went to my main, a level 47 Warrior, and did the prequests to this one. (As well as clearing up the Dun Modr quests and the Sully Balloo easter egg.) None of the ogres gave me their crystal, until I went into the dave and killed Mystics and Brutes. The sixth Brute I killed gave it up.

I was in the cave whose entrance is at (74, 19) at the time. Oh, also any Lurker can give you the venom I got mine just outside of town on the way to the dam. Good luck!

ADDENDUM: Hah, just finished this with that level 20 Rogue. Knowing that the Brutes were the key, I Stealthed my way a little way into each cave, Ambushing the static guards and watching out for the wanderers. I killed several Mystics and Brutes in this manner, and eventually a Brute dropped the crystal.

So take heart, soloism fans! It can be done. I'd say that 20 would be about the minimum level for that though, since you get a lot of good skills (including trade skills-- I got to 225 Enchanting during this quest) at that point.
