Locate the lost night elf girl.

Description

I am no good, <name>. I was 'spose to be watchin' over my little friend, Shay, and somehow, she got away from me. I'm not all that sure what happened, really, but last time I saw her, we was walkin' through the ruins just north of here.

Everythin' was goin' fine, but then I turned around, and... she was gone.

Now I jus can't quite figure out what I should do here. Got any ideas, <name>? I'm awful worried.

The quest text contains a reference to "The Neverending Story" where a stone giant creature called Rockbiter tells a story of his home which was swallowed up by a terrible "nothing".

She's supposed to follow you around, but she gets distracted and wanders off. When she does this, you ring the bell, and she returns to you.

This quest makes no sense, I go up to her and accept quest.&nbsp I then take out the bell, and she promptly dissapears, and doesn't respawn for 5 mins.&nbsp When she finally does, she refuses to move.&nbsp What is going on?

Soloed easily as lvl 47 hunter, and at 4550 exp, this is not a quest to pass up. Took maybe 10 mins for whole thing. Just snuck around western edge hugging the mountains and only had to fight 10-12 mobs total both ways.

She also only wandered off 3 times, and only aggroed something once. I was amazed to find an escort quest where they actually go where u want them to. Made it very easy to avoid encounters&nbsp )

You can avoid fighting anything if you go east along the northern part of the ruins to the road. Then just take the road south for a little bit and head back west when you are parallel to where you found the rock eater. I only had to kill 2 bears and a gorilla.

Keep in mind it's a timed quest to lead her back to Rockbiter's camp where you get the quest. Not terribly difficult depending on level, but if you clear the way there and hurry back the same way you should be fine.

4550 exp for 10 mins work - and the gauntlets u get aint bad either - 295 armour plate gauntlets with +15 strength (can also choose a leather belt but i didnt make a note of the stats). Solo'd with ease with my level 50 paladin.

This is the same quest as the Sleeping Druid (from Darkshore to Ashenvale). It has the same annoying problem too - better hit that bell pretty quickly after she starts wandering or the quest fails. Then of course she will respawn six or seven weeks later after you abandon the quest. Just kidding but where does she go anyway? A coffee break?

I found you could avoid a lot of the harpies by staying right heading south, along the hills - watch for the stone giants. If there is a trick to this one (as there is to the Sleeping Druid), I haven't been able to find it yet.

The XP is probably worth it, or you can avoid the annoying hassle (common to all escort quests....) by just doing the first part of it.

Shay actually follows you around, unlike other escort quests.&nbsp So you can lead her around mobs you don't want to fight.&nbsp Pretty easy overall.

This was just too easy. At the northernmost part of the Ruins of Ravenwind, Shay is there, with her bell in the box beside her. Unlike previous post, after I accepted the quest and grabbed the bell, I headed EAST to the road. Fought 1 gorilla before I hit the road, then headed all the way straight south on the road until the road veers to the left. DON'T head left with the road! Keep going straight for about 50 yards, avoiding a bear and a wolf, then turn right, directly in a straight line path to The Giant Guardian.

Anyone know how to get this quest back? I had Shay and was on my way back to Rockbiter when I was killed by two of the gorillas. The graveyard is all the way back in Feathermoon Stronghold. By the time I was able to get back to my body I knew I wouldn't have time to finish so I abandoned it. Now when I go back to Rockbiter he has no quest for me. This looked like a quick and easy way to pick up some xp so I would like to finish it. Anyone else with this problem?

Yup, here's Rockbiter from The Neverending Story. Dialog starts the same as the big guy in the movie. Some people may be too young to know of the movie. It's funny how they take things from movies for WoW, only things that the adults would really know. Goes to show you, who's playing the games now a days, haha !

for those w/o coords, go all the way to the north, on your map there will be a little gazebo, go to the left until you hit the mountains, then walk north...you'll find her.

The answer is simple - the quest is on a 14 minute timer, and so is the quest item. If you exceed the time limit, you lose the bell and the quest.

Easy quest, barely 5 minutes work for around 8k xp.
