Description

The scarabs of Tanaris have very hard shells! Hard enough to use as a building material for lots of things. So many things!

In fact, those shells are so useful... the scarabs were hunted all to near extinction!

I know where there are more scarabs, and if you promise to bring me their shells then I'll tell you where they are. Promise?

Ok, the scarabs have a colony in Zul'Farrak. I guess the trolls don't hunt them for their shells.

But you can! Go to Zul'Farrak and get me uncracked shells!

Coordinates are 38,18.&nbsp It's an instant in Tanaris.
Take friends, the mobs are almost all level 45+ elites.

In a random instance run of Zul'Farrak, simply progress through the instance until you find a room with a high concentration of scarabs.

Can be soloed by a druid or rogue

Go to the room on the way to first boss where all the scarabs are at, and start killing, think i killed 20-25 to get my 5..

and i got 8300 xp for this one

Just soloed this as a L47 (human) rogue with four points in MoD. Didn't get spotted once getting to the scarab room, and even managed to kill a couple of the things along the way. The only real problem I had was that it's possible to pull multiple scarabs at once.

You can obtain this quest without doing the previous quest (the point quest from Booty Bay).

Easily soloable as a rogue. I didn't go to the scarab room, though. At level 45, I was able to stealth up on hills out of aggro range of the trolls and just shoot my bow at the patrolling scarabs. Only pulled one at a time.

I'm 5/5 in MoD but I don't think you would need it in ZF since most of the paths are so wide.

all u have to do is go into zul farak, then if u go along the path 2 the rite, ul find a big room full of the scarabs

The shells are easy enough to retrieve from the level 45 (non-elite) scarabs. The problem you may have is if you're in a large group, it will take a long time for everyone to get all of their shells. No one can grab the same shell off of the same corpse.

Two of us stayed after a ZF run to get Scarab Shells. Went back to where there was a whole compound of them. Made the mistake of assuming that since they were yellow-neutral that we could take our time doing one at a time. I pulled six with first shot! Killed all of them, but it was close :P Pick the ones that are alone!

To get to Zul'Farrak coordinates are 38:20 in Tanaris which is northwest of Gadgetzan.
