Seeing What Happens

Bring the miniature platinum discs to the gates of Uldum in Tanaris and look for clues as to the connection between the two.
Miniature Platinum Discs
Provided Item:
Miniature Platinum Discs

Description

We want you to take the miniature discs you found to the sealed gates of Uldum. We... we aren't sure what will happen when you do this.

This sounds risky, sure, we acknowledge that. It might, however, do nothing. You might need to use the discs on something. Perhaps the doors unlock when you have the discs in your possession. Be open to try anything, and be ready for anything to happen.

When you've found out what happens, return to Ironforge. We'll have a lot to analyze when you're done!

This is probably the easiest 15k xp and 5g you will ever make this game. You head to Uldum in the very southern part of Tanaris. You can't miss it, there are lvl 48-50 elite giants standing around. There is a path from the left that you can follow and reach the pedestal without aggroing any of them. You access the pedestal and a hologram appears. bam 4700xp. Talk to the hologram, but take care not to get ambushed by the patrolling elite (your screen while shake when he is near you). After talking with the hologram, access the pedestal again, bam another 4700xp. Hearth--portal--walk to IF again and speak with the guy in the Hall of Explorers. You'll get some gold and 450xp. Accept the next quest and walk over to another guy about 200 yards away, bam another 4700 xp and some more gold.

All in all, best quest chain ever. It takes all of about 15 minutes and can be soloed as soon as you have the quest. I did it with a 47 lock without fighting once.

This quest leads to 3 quick parts, all with a reward of 4700 exp (I was lvl 47).

First, you do not have to kill any of the elite giants, simply avoid them.

The pedestal is just to the left of the huge door.
Access it and it will summon a guardian hologram.

Talk to him, and listen to his long winded story (and pray you do not get attacked by giants.)

And then talk to the pedestal again, this time it gives you a quest to return to IronForge.

And you're done.

BTW, the giants do move around, even if they're slow, so you gotta be patient until they move away from the pedestal.

Easiest 15k exp in the game ^_^

Good luck.

i am a 45lvl gnome warlock and i did this in about 15sec.&nbsp you can run around the giants, they dont attack if you go along the hills and the wall of the gate.&nbsp there is one 50lvl that walks around, just have to watch out for him.&nbsp the ground shakes when he is near.&nbsp talk to the pillar to make the guy appear.&nbsp talk to the guy untill he tells you all about the pillar.(if you talk to the pillar it will just tell you that you have to learn about it first.)&nbsp once you finish clicking on all the things the guy has to say, you can then click the pillar.&nbsp just keep clicking the pillar and the guy till it doesnt do anything else and you are done.&nbsp SIMPLE!&nbsp for all of you asking where uldum is, read the note, it says in tanarris.&nbsp Look on thottbot and it shows you right where the gate is, south of gadget.&nbsp good exp. for an easy quest.&nbsp And you DONT have to fight anything.

If the guy disappears with your disks still inside the pedestal, here's what you do.&nbsp First, don't go anywhere.&nbsp Without leaving, abandon the "Stone Guardian" quest.&nbsp Then, click the pedestal again, it should give you the quest again.&nbsp After that, just restart your conversation with the guy.

Dodging these giants is really wasn't too bad. There are six spawns, all elite, from 48 to 50. At the time I was 47 and they have a fairly small aggro radius but incredible HPs and DPS. They also move pretty slow so with super patience, you can get in there like Shoxy says. Just stay on the left and hop around the blocking pillars. In fact, there's even a trail East of the doors that you can take for maximum safety. I was able to complete this while within spitting distance of the giants.

One thing I wanted to emphasize. When I see a door, I expect to open it. You don't. The little pedestal thingy is in front the door on the left side.

Fly to tanaris, mount up, run south south south.

When you get to the southmore ruins keep going pretty much south west, your target is the tan path in the mountains.&nbsp Cords 39 78.&nbsp Follow the path along, when you get near the giants go slow, unmount before you click the disk, talk to guy, talk to him again, click disk, complete, accept, turn around, mount, run.&nbsp

Level 50 Mage, could have done this at 46 but I didnt get the quest until 50.&nbsp Never even cast a spell.

Bring back the miniature platnium discs to the gates of Uldum in Tanaris..the loc of the Uldum pedastal is 38,82. There are level 48-49 elites near there that hit me for 200 per swing and took away about 2000hps before I could bring them down so bring along some guildmates and such before attempting to finish this.

I did this on my lv 48 warrior without having to fight the elites. Using the advice in other comments I looked for the left side access. It's v. easy to spot once there (to find the area without coordinates: it's at the south west end of Tanaris, past the ogre ruins). To the left of the gates is a hill area seperate from the mountians. The space between the mountians and this hill is the pass through other comments refer to. If you follow that you will see the a pillar beside the gate and next to it the round platform you need to click on (wait until the NPC has vanished, which takes 10 min from when he was last talked to).

There are 4 elites I saw in the area around the platform. 3 stationary and one that wanders. Wait for him to make a loop past the platform and for him to be a decent distance away before approaching the platform. What I did was stay nearer to the pillar then the giants, with the view angled on them as best as possible, and got just close enough to the platform to click on it. You click that, then talk to the guy who appears (I recomend having the 'slow scrolling of quest text' setting turned off for this), ensuring to click on each cartoon chat bubble after his text until he tells you to get some other disc (you don't need to go anywhere, just keep clicking stuff). Click on platform again. Here my memory gets a bit foggy about this quest. Just click on the platform or the guy until you get the quest to return to IF. All this clicking takes less then a minute, and you can back up and go back through the pass before the wandering ogre spots you.
At this point you should have recieved 4700xp twice. When I got back to IF I got another 470 from talking to Karnik in the library and another 4700 for talking to Magellas, and of course the money.

Indeed, you see small path at the left hand of Uldum. Walk first around the mountains (behind&nbsp Southmoon Ruins) until you're at 39,78. Walk to small path and you see already ghosty statue at left side.
Look out for walking giant. When he's walking away, step safetly further until you're in click range. Click first the down part for discs, then talk to upper part, then down part, then upper part, make sure you receive finally quest for Ironforge and check for disc in your inventory. If you cannot talk more to the ghost and down part is not more clickable, you can go to IF.

Much XP indeed! No aggro at level 53 mage.

It's still 4700 :)
BTW watch out if you're posting on Allak whilst standing next to the activated pedestal... a "Raging Dune Smasher" patrolling giant spawned and almost got me!

The easiest way to do this quest is to approach the pedestal in a counter-clockwise manner. Hug the wall until you see a crevice in the wall. You can force your way through it with your mount. Continue to hug the wall and you can access the pedestal without fighting the elite mobs.

(summary)
Four things:
1.) Hug wall
2.) go counterclockwise
3.) watch out for the one patrol
4.) be high enough level to not aggro the mobs.

It leads to blue rewards and lots of exp--well worth it!

I completed the uldaman quest and was given this quest as a follow up, I have the miniature disks and followed the posts to place them in the pedestal, it won't work, the gear icon stays gray no matter what I try, I've tried it twice, once when he was there and once when he was gone. I went back to IF to talk with the quest giver and he wasn't there anymore... wtf did I do wrong?

Duh, it always helps if you get off your mount... lol I feel like a total nob...

I did this as a lvl 46 pally and drew no aggro at all.&nbsp THe coords 36-79 were helpfull. There is a small path that goes thru the mnts right before you get to the gates, follow the mnts to the left,(there are lvl 48 baskilisks and scorpions here but if you ride mount in you can outrun them) if you get to gates yuo have gone to far. I followed that path clicked on pedestal 4700 xp clicked on ghost click keep clicking white notes until it completes and he tells his story, another 4700 xp went to IF to hall of explorers 420 xp he sends you to another guy there 4300xp and over 2 gold. Easiest quest ever

As mentioned, their aggro radius must be fairly small. I was able to hug the left and slip up a small rise directly behind the pedestal, waiting about 5 minutes or so to see the pattern of how they walk around.
For me, the 2 closest did not move at all. One stood in front of the door, one to the right of the pedestal, the others roamed around. After deciding I might as well give it a go, I went down and tucked myself behind the closest pillar by the pedestal, the 2 giants never moved. While getting the story, I did have a roamer so I simply pulled back behind the pillar. Got it no problem. 4700 exp x 3 @ 50/51 (actually dinged to 51 after the first 2 parts =) )

I was doing this quest by myself, running between the stone watchers, all was going well until someone else decided they wanted to try to kill them. Apparently they don't have a big aggro radius unless you try to kill one of them. Then it goes back to normal for all the stone watchers and they will kill you before you can get out. I missed this quest after handing in the discs.

Fortunately, i walked past that area about 5 lvls later and saw the guy had a quest.

Solo'ed as a 51 frost mage. Killed two of the lvl 49 elite giants before opening the pedestal. They had surprisingly high dps and hp but they walk pretty darn slow.

Along with my frostbolts i just keep kiting them and freezing.

Good and easy exp!
