This was the easiest 2950xp points i ever got i solod him as a 25 warlock and i lost almost no health even though he was lvl 29 my demon almost died though. The two quests leading up to this one were harder for me because i kept getting surrounded by atleast 4 of them. I killed him three times before i even started the quest and when i was on the quest and killed him i did not even realize it untill three days later when i couldnt sell his talon

Sarltooth is usually up on the ledge at the back of the site, but I have found him near the entrance as well - bit of a shock the first time I found him there though LOL.&nbsp I farm there a bit for some nice drops and even tamed poor old Sarly as a pet :-)

He really isn't that hard if you go up onto the hills on the right hand side and go acroos the top you can get to him only having to kill a couple of Scythepaw lvl 25s.&nbsp There is usually only one with him on the ledge which is easy to agro and put away.&nbsp Sarly can be taken by a lvl 26 and up pretty easily but alvl 25 might struggle.

Like others said, 32,51. climb up the hill from the north side of the excavation camp. His respawn time is about 5-7 mins

According to Anonymous, the choices and their prices when sold to vendors are:
Raptor's End (bow) 34s, 26c
Raptorbane Armor 20s, 23c
Excavation Rod (wand) 34s, 90c

found him at 30,49.

enter the excavation site and stay on the right side you'll see a path that goes up to where he is.

I came across this guy while looking for the relics as part of a separate quest.&nbsp I am a lvl 27 and he was pretty easy to take down, so i wouldn't have thought this quest should give any problems.

I took him out with my lvl 25 pally.&nbsp Don't worry 'bout this guy.

This is really easy when I found him. You go to the right and follow the path agianst the rocks when you enter. Then there will be an opening which you go up a small hill. Then there will be some boards going up a hill, go up those. I faced only 1 gaurd but you might have 2. Solo them then you are just left with snarl.

I used a rouge and kidney shot him then just followed it up with a backstab and sinster strikes. I lost maybe 200 health in the whole battle. Easy.

Sarltooth generally stays up on his ledge, but if you can't find him he follows a definite path: down the hill, then east across the excavation site, then north following the edge of the ramp that leads to the NPC's. I watched him do this twice, the first time having gotten killed, so I don't know how he heads back to his ledge.

going to the site turn right, kill one&nbsp the go up the hill, u will find ore there the go straight, he is guarded with only a 26 lv. Easy,takes 5 mins

it also seems he appears down in the pit sometimes, I was doing the previous quest in this chain and suddenly he popped up and ganged me, can anyone confirm this or he just got lured down? When I was looking up he was there again..

Lvl 28 Hunter w a lvl 28 cat.. Man this was the easiest quest in the game so far heh.
Pulled the one raptor that was up on top with him then walked up and beat the crap out of him..

All the raptor quests in the area proved pretty easy and took me from lvl 28 to 29..
Started the area with the xp bar about 1/4 full...

Did this with a 24 Warrior and 24 Priest. Lots of HP... just plopped on a shield and put it on defensive stance and whacked away.

Reputation with Ironforge increased by: 385

the wand is average for the level, but the bow is excellent. I highly suggest all hunter's travel to the wetlands if only for this quest.

Also, I went from 26 1/2 to nearly 28 just from killing the raptors in the area. (looking for the relics for another quest in the same spot).

Level 26 rogue, killed him on the first attempt (used one potion). No problems. There's a relic up there, too. Just pull the guard then take ol' Sarl.

Solo'd him as lvl 26 rogue... easy... 32/51 as described earlier

Did this solo as a lvl 27 hunter. Very easy, just stood on the ledge waiting for him to spawn. Send my pet on him and killed him with a few arcane shots.

Umm something to say to icantswim, what about the armor? It +30 attack to beasts! Isn't that like 15x the power of a beastslaying enchantment? Just a thought. Obviously this doesn't apply to ppl who can't wear leather or shouldn't...

+30 attack power is very different from the beastslaying enchantment. The enchantment adds a specific amount of damage to each hit (better on faster weapons). An attack power bonus adds damage per second (DPS), which means the amount of damage per hit scales with the speed of the weapon(s). Slower weapons get a larger bonus on each hit, while faster ones get a smaller bonus, and hit more often. This results in the same overall increase in the damage you do, no matter the weapon.

For the record, a bonus of +30 to attack power is equal to roughly 2.14 DPS. And this particular bonus only applies to beasts.

Sarltooth was a real b*tch to kill. even with my lvl 25 Hunter. He kept on killing me just when he had about 10 health left. and you should watch out for the other raptors as well

its a very nice quest :D the easiest one i think and reward is excelent 2950 exp and even nice stuff i done it with 28 lvl mage and it wasnt even though :D start searching him on the right hills and if he isnt there he could respawn on the upper shelf , that was in my case GL

Well i'm new to WoW and my lvl 24 Hunter is my first char, i did this quest with myself (all my talent points are in survival) and my lvl 24 Hyena pet (Jekyll)I got from the barrens. I died 5 times on this guy but kept coming back and changing my plan to kill him. What finally happened was most-likey not the best way to kill this guy, but it worked for me.

I started out with hunter's mark before even aggroing him, had monkey aspect on, then i laid a fire trap and let jekyll at him while backing up to the side where his guard was. Started laying in the normal rotation of magical arrow shots. when he runs at me he hits the fire trap, and by now i'm ready to lay another, but i don't. I melee him a couple secs, using all the melee skills i can, until he get me to about 1/2 my life then i throw the ice trap. and let the pet keep attacking and i run back to where Sarltooth was originally. when the pet breaks the ice trap it seems to make sarl mad at jekyll, so i let them duke it out while i pelt him with arrows, but saving conc shot. When he comes running at me i conc shot him and drink a potion. now hes at about 20% life and i'm at about 80%, and jekyll has about had it. So i melee again and get sarl down to about 3% before jekyll steals aggro again, sarl finished jekyll about the same time i finished him.

So i win but the score was still 5:1 sarltooth, so i came back using the same plan again changing nothing after i got the bow from the quest. and i won again this time i had a little more life and jekyll never died.

He aggroed me on the quest before this at 34:51 and then the second time found him at 32:48

Solo'd as a 24 hunter, really easy.
You can also go uphill around 33,44 if you don't feel like killing all the raptors until you reach the 'official' path up.
Sarltooth attacked me from behind at 32,44, the bastard ;)

i found the raptor at 33,51 if you can find him on ground level try look up on the hills
