Bring 2 Splintered Logs, 6 Encrusted Minerals, 20 pieces of Resilient Sinew, and 40 Metallic Fragments to Witch Doctor Uzer'i in Camp Mojache.

Description

I will need certain materials to complete my endeavor... You may do this alongside the other tasks I will give you.

I'll need a splintered log from a treant of Feralas. Encrusted minerals, these can be found on the mountain giants and faerie dragons to the west. Also, find me some resilient sinew from the owlbeasts of the Hinterlands or hippogryphs of Feralas. Finally, I'll need a large amount of metallic fragments from any of these creatures I mentioned.

Okay, breaking it down for everyone, because I aced this as lvl 46...it can be done:

Splintered Log: 53, 67 the only reason this quest is elite.&nbsp Luckily you only have to kill two, but at those coord (non coord people: below Feral Scar Vale, south west of map, west of Ruins of Isildien).&nbsp I killed the level 44 elite twice (you'll have time for it to respawn, trust me).

Encrusted Minerals: 70,42 (non coord people: west of our base below the Grimtotem compound).&nbsp Kill the pretty non aggro's there, no problem with droprate.

Resilient Sinew/Metallic Fragments: 53,67 (same as log) The BEST drops come from the Stagwings.&nbsp Do NOT bother with the Skystormer, as they never dropped for me.&nbsp The stagwings had a drop rate for me of 98% of both Sinew and Metallic Fragments.

So everything you really need is southwest, except the minerals which are near our base.&nbsp I levelled during this quest, and maxed my skinning...well worth it all.

I started doing this quest on the side will questing in Feralas. Then I happened to be in The Hinterlands and killed an owlbeast, so started to rely do it. here my statistics:

Quest can easily be completed for the lower level 40's. All the materials can also be collected from Feralas while completing other quests.

Resilient Sinew & Metallic Fragments: Drops by Frayfeathers around 55,62 (south of Feral Scar Vale).They also drop from the Owls in The Hinterlands.

Encrusted Minerals: Drops by Sprite Darter around 69,46 (West of Camp Mojache, North of The Writhing Deep).

Splintered Log: Drops by Wandering Forest Walker that spawns "now and then" among the Frayfeathers. Just kill Frayfeatehrs and get your Metallic Fragments while waiting on spawn (you have to wait on spawn 2 times).
I also spotted a Wandering Forest Walker at 54,47 (Southwest of Dire Maul).

TIP:

You can do Testing the Vessel at the same time as you get some of the Resilient Sinew & Metallic Fragments through traveling to The Hinterlands and killing the owls there (Around 41,61). There's also some other grinding-quests at Revantusk Village (78,79) in The Hinterlands that tells you to kill some Owls.
When you are done with Testing the Vessel you should fly from Revantusk to Undercity and take the Zeppelin back to OG and then fly back to Camp Mojache. Turn in "Testing the Vessel" and grab the next part of that quest: Hippogryph Muisek.

Go to 55,62 (south of Feral Scar Vale) and start grinding the Frayfeathers for the Resilient Sinew and the Metallic Fragments at the same time as you do Hippogryph Muisek. Also wait for the Wandering Forest Walker to spawn 2 times.

When you are done, get back to Camp Mojache and turn in Hippogryph Muisek and take the next part: Faerie Dragon Muisek.

Go to 69,46 (West of Camp Mojache, North of The Writhing Deep) and kill the Sprite Darters to get the Encrusted Minerals and the Faerie Dragon Muiseks. There MIGHT be a Wandering Forest Walker around that area to (in case you didnt wait around to get both Splintered Logs when killing the Frayfeathers).

Hopefully you are now done with Natural Materials and some of the Vessel/Muisek-quests. But there 2 more parts of the Muisek-quests:
Treant Muisek
Mountain Giant Muisek

I'm really not sure why the quest level for this is so high level 50 but the highest level mob you have to kill for it is 45-46. Completed this quest on my level 43 hunter without any problems. Don't let the red quest text put you off doing this quest early!

First off,the highest lvl mob i found was lvl46,and i only found 1 of them,so this can easily be completed in your early 40's.

To find
Splintered logs - Off the wandering treants,their scattered all over the place but your bound to find 2 on your travels
Encrusted mineral - Off sprite darters,around 69,48,just head north off the road and you will find more.
Resilient sinew - Off any frayfeather,not just the hippographs,head for about 55,60 and head south for more.
Metallic fragments - they can drop off any of the above,but best drop rates are off the frayfeathers,although i would avoid the skystormers as i hand a really poor drop rate of them,only 10% compared to between 70-90% for all the other types.

The splintered log may be looted by multiple group members from the Wandering Forest Walkers. Myself and my Priest guildmate completed the quest in 2 kills.

Here are coords: 56,62 area I found the Frayfeather guys, they all dropped at least 1 of the 2 items (Fragments/Sinew) and a good bunch of them dropped both. While I was here the tree came walking thru so I picked up a couple of those. Both Frayfeather types dropped and did so pretty well.

In case you didnt do the other quest/see them the darters are @ 69,49. The drop rate isnt too good, so you may want to kill them on the way out, and then again on the way back.

i was getting 100% drop rate on sinue and metal fragsments off primitive owls in hinterlands so if you go over for the muisek you can also do part of this quest there as well

Grinding hippogryphs is a great way to collect the last of the items, especially if you're a skinner. Treants can also path through that area.

You can take that egg to Gadgetzan for a cool 6000+ XP. It's associated with an Alliance quest from Rut'theran Village in Teldrassil, but Horde can still turn one in for experience.

The listed reward for this quest is misleading. This and the muisek chain are prerequisites for Weapons of Spirit (https://classicdb.ch/quest=3129), which does provide item rewards and does not require you to do anything extra (you just accept the quest and turn it back in). So take a look at those items before you decide whether or not to do this quest.

If you pick up Natural Materials while you're doing the muisek chain and other quests to kill the same mobs (such as the owlbeast quest in the Hinterlands), collecting all the items should be pretty painless. I only had to grind for the last five metallic fragments or so the rest of the items I received in the course of doing other quests. Pretty efficient if you ask me.

Grab Clamlette Surprise from Dirge Quickcleave in Gaget before going to Hinterlands (https://classicdb.ch/quest=6610). Then you get the sinew, metallic fragments and the 12 giant eggs you need all at once.

u can also get the Metallic fragments from the savage owlbeast in the hinterlands and that where he ask's you to get the first set of muisek. what you dont get there u will get from the next set of muisek, and that is the Frayfeather guys.

Be aware that the icon for the sinew is the same as the one for thick leather. As a skinner, I usually have some leather in my bags, and I banked the sinew by mistake, along with a bunch of leather. I've been fuming for the last 24 hours trying to figure out why I couldn't finish the quest, even though my log said "complete." Sad but true. :(

ALL of the owlbeasts in Hinterlands drop both sinew and metallic fragments.&nbsp You might as well pick up 'Hunt the Savages' in Hinterlands and knock it out as well as 'Testing the Vessel' from Feralas.&nbsp Doing so will allow you to complete these 2 quests, leaving only the logs and minerals needed for 'Natural Materials'

The quest text is wrong, and you DO NOT need to kill the "Faerie Dragons". You can kill the "Faerie Darters" just SW of Camp Mojache, right near the Grimtotem Camp. Not only is it very easy because they are timid beasts, but there really isnt too much around to aggro. I dont know the exact coords, but if you just follow the road SW of Mojache, you wont miss them! Easy Easy Quest!

I got the logs pretty quick from the Walking Treants, you DO NOT have to the kill the elites! Some people say they have had trouble finding the encrusted minerals. Well the things you kill aren't 'called' dragons. They are Sprite Darters, if that threw you off a little and they are located right below Grimtotem camp. The Resilient Sinew and Metallica Fragments are the easiest, Hippographs or the Owlbeasts everywhere in the Hinterlands.

One issue with the Encrusted Minerals - they would not drop until i was also working the Faerie Dragon Muisek quest. I killed maybe 10 or 20 sprite darters before taking on the Muisek quest and no minerals dropped. As soon as i accepted the Muisek quest the drop rate went to about 50%.

i found this q quite easy i got a good drop rate of the frayfeather patriarch and kill 2 trees and they dropped the logges the only one im having troble wiv is the encrusted minerals.

If youre a skinner, this quest can be a gold mine.
I killed 60 Hyppogryphs to get the mats. Off those i got 40 thick leather.

The nice thing is that there is usually 2-3 other people doing the same quest leaving behind them (if they are not skinners themselves), lots of Hyppos for you to skin.

In 2 hours i got in addition to my 40, over 80 thick leather for a total of 6 stacks. They sold
for 1,5g in AH.

9g in addition to the quest rewards is nice :)

1. The Sinew is dropped from the hippogryphs (all types of Hippogryph)
2. The Splintered log drops off the REGULAR treants who wander among the hippogryphs - However, they only drop off the Wandering Forest Walker, NOT the Cursed Syquoia.
3. The Encrusted Minerals drop off of Faerie Dragons and Mountain Giants. The easiest place to get these is just to the west of Camp Mojache around the Grimtotem Camp. If you want a challenge, there are some level 50 faerie dragons near the twin collosals, and if you want a REAL challenge, to the south-west of the Twin Collosals are 48-49 elite Mountain Giants
4. The Metallic Fragments drop off of everything that drops a piece for this quest (Hippogryphs, Treants, Faerie Dragons and Mountain Giants)

While doing this quest I found that the Sprite Darters had a decent drop rate of about 1 in 4 kills of the Encrusted Minerals. I never got any Metallic Fragments from them.

I also did not get any Metallic Fragments from the "Zapped Giants" striders along the coast. Perhpas you could use the zapper on the normal Mountain Giants and try.

I got the 40 metalic Fragments from the Hippogryphs. I found that the Normal Frayfeather Hippogryphs and Frayfeather Stags gave the best drop rate, 40 fragments from about 50 kills.

If you are doing this quest with someone else, the Logs from the trees can be looted by everyone in the party, so make sure everyone gets one. All the other pieces are 1 per mob type loots. Although there can be more than 1 type from a mob, such as Sinew and Fragments from Hippogryphs.

The Sinew I got from the Hippogryphs also.

This quest is obviously assigned too high of a recommended level. As a 46 Warlock, none of the beasts were a challenge in ANY way--very easy. Got everything I needed except the encrusted minerals in one small area of hypogryphs. It takes a lot of grinding to get 40 metalic fragments, but then you're getting kill points all along there too and you don't have to look for the wandering tree as he'll doop de doop along now and then just asking to be offed. Read for the locations below.

This quest is fairly easy, can be done in less than an hour if you are lvl40-45
and have a bit of luck.

Myself I solo'ed it at 44 with my Undead Mage.

You'll probably spend most of your time grinding frayfeather hippogryphs and stagwings (Feralas 55,60) to get resiliant sinew and metallic fragments.
I did that in 50 minutes time (spent some of it picking herbs), also got a couple of wandering forest walkers that spawned in the area, thus I canned the splintered log. The encrusted minerals you'll find can be a little more timeconsuming if you're not lucky. The sprite darters over at the grimtotem camp (Feralas 68,48) drops them at an average of 12.71% of the time, something like one-in-eight. This means you can end up having to kill about 50 of the little buggers.
As luck would have it, I only had to kill about 15.

All in all, I ended up doing this quest in about 70 minutes, with 36k exp.
(not rested) + quest completion bonus of 4k7 exp.

Great quest for anyone to solo at 40-45, not the big rewards- only 65silver,
but a good way to combine grinding with questing

Resilient Snew and Metallic Fragments - on Frayfeather dragons in the Frayfeather Highlands in Feralas. 54, 65. You can also find them on owlbeats in The Hinterlands.

Encrusted Minerals - on the Sprite Dusters around 68, 48 in Feralas

I found a Wandering Forest Walker treeant at 74.5, 52.7 with a splintered log. I found another one by the hypogryphs at 55.6, 63.9.
