For the amount of work, this quest isnt worth it. it give a very slight increase to SW reputation as well, no two ways about it.
Unless, of course, you can only wear cloth and has inferior boots. By all means, then :)

the xp isn't awful along the way, but there are certainly better ways to spend time than doing this quest

I did it way too late, got 200 xp... :-(

You only get like 1/10th of XP reward if it's gray right?

I totally agree...it's not worth it.
And another ting....it's to high lvl. I soloed it at lvl 19 (Dwarv, Paladin) and I didn't have to try...it's just too easy....

easy, easy quest, boots worthless but xp pretty nice. at lvl 24 it gave 1950 xp and 100 rep. nice easy way to blow time (I'm putting off a difficult rogue quest), but not worth it for most ppl. got some pretty nice drops when mining for the ore though...
