Rethban Ore

Gather 5 loads of Rethban Ore and bring it to Brother Paxton in the Northshire Library.

Description

Rethban Ore is named after the man who first found it, Bart Rethban. When smelted it's not as strong as iron, but its ore has a dark, flat color that some scribes use in their dyes. It can be found in the Rethban Caverns, north of here.

We usually have some in stock, but we're too busy preparing for Orc attacks to gather any. And besides...Redridge Gnolls are now living in the Rethban Caverns and their Drudgers are gathering the ore themselves.

So if you need some, you'll have to get it yourself.

Actually the Cavern is located North West of Lakeshire past a Redridge Gnoll encampment.&nbsp If you are using /tloc then the coordinates are 20, 29. Another thing to add is that from what I have seen, only the Redridge Drudgers carry the ore.

At the mailbox in front of the Inn, there is a road leading up the hill to the herbalist's house. Go around back and just past the garden area to your right is a path leading up to&nbsp Rethban Canyon. There will be a mob to the right, but depending on how smart you are, you might be able to avoid them. Follow the path killing as you go and you will come to an area where the Rethban Cave is 20.28. The drop rate wasn't the best, but wasn't bad either.

Its also not a quest item nor Bind on Pick-Up, so a very good way to check for it, is in the Auction house, its usually pretty cheap, and will save you a ton of time...

Since this item is for a quest, why not offer to trade it with other players, to save them the time of getting it themselves.

I believe it's also much easier for miners, so those without the skill could spend a lot of time working on it, trying to get the ore from drops.

In general, if an item is for quests, go the nearest town and offer it for trade or even for money (just don't be greedy) and you'll probably get takers.

I got there by going on the path that runs directly behind Lakeshire, parallel to Lakeshire buildings.&nbsp Go straight back and the path to the cave it on the right.

You can also get it to drop by mining any of the ore veins in the caverns.

Both tin and copper veins drop it and you can mine more than one per vein!

My drop was around the 1/8 mark, kinda shabby, but it's done now..
Also the rate I got per node (mining) was about 1/5.

And yush, confirming the bashers do not drop ore.

The location is indeed at 20, 29. The rate for me was about 1/5. Did it as a 25 Rogue, was fine.

I do recommend being a miner for this quest, because it might take a while to get all the Ore. Took me a total of 25 minutes. =[

the ore is for a chain of quests that all start in the chapel of light in stormwind that leads you to lakeshire, its made for an ink for this guy to copy a book and once you get it he finishes copying and you take the book back to the starting location to complete

This quest is fairly easy especially if you have a mining skill. And stick to the Drudgers, they drop them. I killed 3 and got 2 Rethban Ores out of 3 of them. And then the mining skill comes in handy cause in the cave there are tin veins, and while mining one of them I got two of the rethban ores. So, mining in there pays off if you don't want to fight themm, which you can easily slip by them.

you can get them from the Drugers, or mine them from veins if you got the skill. I got over 20 while skilling mining (about 3 tin and 3-4 copper veins in, also 2-3 spots for chests) and gave some to other players, but generaly you can just throw them away once you're done, unless you got an alt and want to spare some trouble for him.

If you are near Lakeshire (Redridge Mountains) just go in the "Rethban Caverns" and mine the Vein's there, also kill Redrige mobs while waiting, I got 3 of my Rethban Ore's just killing! :D

On the way in yes, on the way out i got owned by 2 mages and a mele guy, cant be ar$ed to remember the names but id say for sure take some one with you, I could have done with a paladin or priest, Im only lvl 21 Pali btw.

Ill add a map link... I got quite a bit of tin and silver too in there

I had no problems with the cave at LVL 20, I gained around 2k exp from killing MOBs and got 1 Green drop and maybe 8-10 Silver in the little time I was there. It took maybe 10 minutes to get my 5 Ore and I used Hearthstone to get out easily.

The Drudgers drop this most often, but you can mine it like there's no tomorrow from the copper and tin veins, I was finding 1-2 per vein.

Only Drudger's who drop the ore. Droprate is ~26 % (5/19). You need to kill a lot of other mobs to reach the Drudgers. I did this quest at lvl 23... no problem but it took me 30 min.

I suggest you bring a friend who can mine the #$%^ if you are in a hurry. :)

the rethban caverns are located behind and a little to the west of lakeshire.. they are up in the mountains.. if you look on your map you will see a cave indent for them .. that is where they are.. you can pretty much pick them off one by one, but when they are close to dying they run and they will come back with more! the drop rate isn't spectacular but it is okay. i got the ore from both bashers and drugers. Spent only 30min inside the cavern & came out with 40tin, 40 copper, & 20 Rethban ore. It was the easiest run through ive ever had lol & i did it with my lvl 25 Palladin.

cleaned out the cave twice, got 1 ore. being lvl 30 allready, i'm abandoning this quest. I find it to be a waste of time beyond lvl 26

did found 2 greens though -)
