some people are getting confused here.

You simply open the chest and OBTAIN the quest (hence the accept button). Then you merely open the chest AGAIN and COMPLETE the quest to obtain the rward (which is a box). You then open said box and get some random items along with black dragonflight molt.

This chest is sitting next to two NPCs, directly south of Thorium Point, one of which gives you a series of quests. Finish his quests and you can open the chest, almost as if it were an NPC.

The molting you recieve can be turned into another NPC along the region wall in far-NE Burning Steppes - once that area is discovered, you'll see a small cave marking on your map. THIS NPC challenges your worth and pits you against a 54 Elite Dragon...unless you have this molting from the chest.

This all information that I've gathered from Thott. I have neither of those quests done. I found almost none of the comments concerning either quest helpful, so I hope this post is.

You need to use the chest twice. Once to get the quest and once to complete it (and recieve your box of goodies).

after you open the box and receive the contents, you're kind of left out in the dark with regards to where to go next - you don't get a new quest, just some info.

among all the verbage the name Cyrus Therepentous comes up - he's the one you need to find next to continue on with this line of quests. you have to bring the Black Dragonflight Molt to this NPC.

Cyrus Therepentous can be found in a cave in the eastern part of The Burning Steppes at map location 94,31. talk to him and you will receive the next quest - A Taste of Flame.

go to 38,38 and next to Kalaran Windblade is a chest on the ground. if you have already done all his quests u will be able to open it. when u open it starts a quest that says "Open the chest". the chest is in ur inventory just right click it and get the stuff out of it one item is "Black Dragonflight Molt" and it is the only useful item out of it as far as i know.

Travel to the NE crner of Searing Gorge (Slither Rock), at 94,31 there is a cave with a Dragonkin (Cyrus Therepenous)inside, show him the molt and he gives you a quest (A Taste of Flame 58D) and 5450 exp.
