In Eranikus' Own Words

Travel to the eastern part of Winterspring and speak with Umbranse the Spiritspeaker.

Description

<name>, our first step will be to devise a method to speak with Eranikus through the gem. He lies in a precarious state between sleep and death now, twisted within a weave of nightmares. Though the essence you have given me is badly tainted, there is a chance we can reach him.

Travel far to the icy lands of eastern Winterspring and seek one of our mortal allies, Umbranse the Spiritspeaker. He is a human medium who speaks for the dead. Though Eranikus is not truly dead, he may be of aid to us still.

Okay,

If you can move this post to the top so eveyone can see it you better.

I have been told by blue, that you do give up the trinket for the exp.&nbsp The quest ends there.&nbsp There is no more to it.&nbsp The text reads as thou it goes further on but it does not and there is no more supportive content to the quest.

I'll honestly say, the GM I spoke with seems as upset as I was about it, and made it very clear that the quest ended there.

If you like the trinket, keep it.&nbsp I wish I had, but if you want the exp fine, it's a poor trade if you ask me.&nbsp There outa be a nice weapon, gold or something for all that you go thru to get the trinket.

This quest chain seems to be an incomplete one.

After you turn in the Chained Essence of Eranikus to Itharius and go to visit Umbranse, the chain dead ends with its completion. He will not point you to another questgiver or give you any task to complete. Though it would seem that what he says would, logically, lead to another part, it does not, which is a disappointment.

Messages to the GMs and on the forums have yielded nothing except messages that the quest is "working as intended".

/Sigh

Why do ppl post garbled information here...Eranikus is an Emerald Dragon, one of Ysera The Dreamers brood, he was set to gaurd Hakkar's remains after the emerald flight destroyed him, Hakkar is the god of the trolls who dewelled withing The Temple of Atal Hakkar...Now commonly known as the sunken Temple, if u actually read the quest log instead of just twisting words u'd know this. the corruption of hakkar twisted the emerald dragons set with eranikus to guard the remains of the troll god, upon his death at ur hands his essence was trapped within a nightmare...again information that was given in the quest line.

oh and BTW quest items don't always need to have a quest attached to them, and some will only drop once u have completed other quests...the onyqia key quest chain springs to mind, why don't u try searching thott for the term "augurary" or whatever the precise spelling is.

Umbranse is standing in a shack in in Winterspring at 68,27, east of Mon Horror Den.
Chal Fairwind, lvl 53 Night Elf, stands just outside the shack and is hostile to Horde but won't attack unless you attack first.

----------------------------------------
If you have Chained Essence of Eranikus when you speak to Itharius he will give you Oathstone of Ysera's Dragonflight that leads to this quest.

Beebob said, on another page:
>Those who were around during the opening of >Ahn'Quiraj will realise that Eranikus' spirit >returns during that event, so clearly that's the >only follow-up this quest's going to get. If you >don't get it, ask an older player.

The Ahn'Qiraj event was a one-time event.

If that were truly meant to be the follow-up and the final ending of the quest line, the quests leading up to it would be disabled after the event closed.

However, this is not an event quest.&nbsp You can still give up the trinket and do this quest line after Ahn'Qiraj opens, thus there must be something else.

Maybe it's not in the game yet.&nbsp Or maybe it's so well hidden, so ingenious, that the tens of thousands or more of level 60 players just haven't found it.

Maybe the GMs tell you that quest chains are "incomplete."&nbsp What does that mean?&nbsp Does it mean that this is the last node?&nbsp Not necessarily.&nbsp Every quest chain in the game is theoretically incomplete, as it is always possible to add more quests to the end of existing chains.&nbsp The Eranikus quest chain could very well be "incomplete," but still have 10 more quests after this one that all of you just haven't found yet.

Never give up!&nbsp Trust your instincts!

(That said, I'd be VERY interested to know exactly what text was displayed in the game when Eranikus's spirit returned during that event.)

Issue Reported:The In Eranikus' Own Words quest line ends with Umbranse the spirit speaker saying he needs some device to help Eranikus but does not give another quest or any hints besides somthing about needing the help of some one who does not suffer the limits of age. This quest line appears incomplete or the NPC is bugging and not giving me the quest for the next step. At this point I am out of the trinket I give up for this quest and cannot complete the line.

We are aware of the situation you reported, and we are currently working on a solution.&nbsp Please check the World of Warcraft website (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com) for future updates and corrections.&nbsp We appreciate your patience.

Here it is Patch 2.01 and this quest is still unfinished. Much like The Missing Diplomat chain. I've read up all over, and heard some interesting things. Some lead to Videre Elixir, some lead to Sleeping Night Elves. I still have both the Oathstone and the Chained Essence in my bag on me at this moment.

I'd like to get rid of them for the bagspace, but I dont wanna miss out on what may lead to a huge Emerald Dream event. I'd like to know how this quest ends. But I guess we'll have to wait until Blizzard decides to end it.

As for my own thoughts... I'm wondering if maybe you have to speak to someone you'd never think of in a million years, but is so obvious.
In my mind I keep thinking, Druids walk the Emerald Dream. But the only few I can think of at this moment are Malfurion, Cenarius, and Remulos (moonglade). There are the Stormrage Barrow Dens in Moonglade that seem empty. Malfurions last name was Stormrage, I'mm gonna try visiting it in my wisp form and see what I can dig up.

Edit: After killing myself in Lake Elune'ara and searching the entire moonglade (mainly the Barrow Dens) I came across nothing. Even the great bear spirit was missing from the spirit realm.

Umbranse the Spiritspeaker: Itharius was wise to send you to me. While he is not dead as you understand death, Eranikus will soon give us advice in his own words. For now though, I cannot directly help you... at least not yet.

I will lend my skill at death-speaking to you, but first I need the help of one who - unlike me - is not limited by the frailties of old age. My most potent augury device has been taken from me against my will, and unless I have it back we will be at a loss to help Eranikus.

Any 60th lvl players check this out if its lvl dependant?

i replied 'oh! so i've completed the quest line here already?'

he told me ' the quest chain does end rather abruptly, i'm afraid that is all the information i can give you as giving out specific information to players on quests can be seen as an unfair advantage over other players.'
then
'Perhaps there are other players in the game who can shed light on your situation' and maybe there are some World of Warcraft related websites that will give you your answers....'

so i said - aha where i am is not the end of the questline then :( '
then
'i'm sure some one will be able to give you answers soon' and added a smily face

well i spoke to a GM and he/she told me that the quest is working fine, the Gm said that is does end a bit abrupt and strange, but that is how it is supposed to be, the Gm also said that in the future a chain might be added. so my guess is that they just don't want to admit that it was broken :)

so well mystery solved i guess

I am pretty sure, if not from ZG, that this quest chain is related to the 4 new Green Dragons that will be put in a future patch, randomly in Azeroth.

Eranikus is part of the Green Flight patch. He is corrupted. The Dream world is corrupted. The 4 Green Dragons are corrupted as well.

Maybe.....

i think the device is he talking about is the book from this quest:
(Quest #6030) thing is that i have already done that quest... so i can't get the book, if anyone can still accept that quest keep the book and go see if you can talk to Umbranse the Spiritspeaker again... report back if you can

I went and visited the Bloodelf, went and visited the Human and then the trail was left dry. But after I rode off near Winterspring, some Orange Text came up and mentioned something about Moonglade. So I flew on over to Moonglade and more Orange Text popped up. But that's as far as I got. It mentioned something about Necro or Nex something...something related to the Undead. I thought If I traveled to Eastern or Western Plaguelands something would happen, but nothing.

So far I haven't seen any other Orange Text telling me where I should head to next.

Redeeming Eranikus is a part of the AQ opening of the portals quest, il post a piece that ive copy/pasted from a guide on that part of the AQ quest:

6b) The Green Flight

This was cool. I went to see the sleeping shade of Eranikus in ST. As soon as I entered the room, Malfurion Stormrage phased in between me and the dragon. He told me that Eranikus has been corrupted by the Old Gods and that I needed to cleanse him in order to recover the scepter shard. He sends me to speak with an agent of his outside of Darnassus(!). I did that. The agent sent me to Keeper Remulos in Moonglade. Remulos told me of Eranikus's corruption, and how he wants nothing more than revenge upon Malfurion and upon the Moonglade. He might be lured into a trap, but it would require the recovery of four shards of the corrupted dream, from each of the four dragon portals around the world. Three of them are held by the dragonkin near the portals (raredrops from the dragonkin they do not drop from the green dragons themselves). The fourth is in Duskwood, which has no trash, but where a demonic Twilight Corruptor awaited me, phasing in as I approached the moonwell there. He was tough (40-man raid mob), but we took him out. The drop rate on the other fragments is awful -- it took 3.5 hours of nonstop farming in Feralas to get that one, and 1.5+ at Hinterlands. Ashenvale has so few dragonkin that it also proved problematic with the new lengthened respawns, but at last we had all four shards.

I brought them back to Keeper Remulos in the Moonglade, and he used them to lay a trap for Eranikus. Eranikus has been in the corrupted Emerald Dream, twisted by the will of the Old Gods, brooding and yearning for revenge against Malfurion and the Cenarion Circle. The fragments were used to open a portal into the heart of the Dream, and Eranikus emerged over the Moonglade lake. With hundreds of people gathered to defend Moonglade (and to watch), an epic battle was waged against dozens of Nightmare Phantasms that emerged from the portal, as Eranikus hovered menacingly in the skies. Aeternus, Aftermath, Advent, LoH, Exordium, and countless others, all turned out to assist us, and I thank them. As the phantasms were defeated, Eranikus landed to do the job himself. He was controlled, and we began to wear him down. As the fight went on, Tyrande arrived from Darnassus (the point of my trip to Darnassus had been to covertly notify her) with a half-dozen Priestesses of the Moon riding white tigers. They healed the army as we continued to rain blows on Eranikus, and Tyrande and Remulos fought against him side-by-side. As he weakened further, Tyrande channelled the powers of Elune in a prayer to redeem the cursed dragon. He thrashed and resisted, but ultimately the light of Elune overcame him. He suddenly ceased fighting. The dragon vanished, and in its place lay a crumpled night-elf on the ground. He stood up and haltingly apologized for all the harm he had wrought, and left to attempt to begin to make amends for his actions. Before leaving, however, he entrusted me with the green scepter shard that Anachronos had given him long ago. I returned it to Anachronos.
