Dreadmaul Rock

Venture forth to the Burning Steppes and find out what became of Sha'ni Proudtusk.

Description

Sha'ni was sent to investigate reports of strange ritualistic activity coming from the Firegut ogres of the Burning Steppes over three weeks ago.

Goretooth tells me that he hasn't heard from anyone in that platoon and that it's best that I move on and focus on the task at hand. Can you believe it? That's my wife!

I can't leave my post, <name>, but I must know what became of Sha'ni. Travel to the Burning Steppes and search for her.

Sha'ni is on top of Dreadmaul rock in the Burning Steppes. NOT in the badlands and NOT in Searing Gorge.

Her coords are 80,45. You will find her between four pillars. Right click her corpse and talk to her ghost.

I had trouble with the coords above too. I saw the mountains and couldnt get up there. Unlike others, I only tried for 5 min or so before I RE-READ THE QUEST! AN IMPORTANT STEP PEOPLE! It is a badlands quest and I think most people read over it casually and didnt see the fact that this is located in the BURNING STEPPES, not the SEARING GORGE, located right next to the Badlands. Ironically, the coords, when placed in the Searing Gorge, appear to fit the decriptions made by everyone here. Its an unattainable position in the eastern mountains (so sad some ppl tried hrs to get to it). After I discovered the location discrepency I immediately knew why half the ppl were having problems....

Moral of the Story: READ QUESTS THOUROGHLY!

To get the Sha'ni, follow the red lava path up from 77,51.

Sha'ni is on top of Dreadmaul. Approx loc is 80,45 if your using cosmos. If your not, then there is a stone alter she is stood infront of opposite a cave.

She is a ghost and you need to 'summon' her by using the remains on the alter.

This quest leads to Krom'Grul

she is on the top of dreadmaul rock.. her skeleton on the altar between 4 pillars.

You cannot get to the top from 77,51... maybe with a Warrior's Charge you can.

If you want to climb up the mountain, go 76,38 and walk up the rope bridge

I think where the misunderstanding is, somebody thinks it's in Badlands, it's not. Remember it is in Burning steppes :D

Try to use the cords in Burning steppes :P

The guy who gives this quest sometimes patrols around Badlands with the rest of the Kargath Expeditionary Force. You cannot get the quest from him while he is patrolling; you have to wait for him to return to Kargath.

The ogre's can kick you backwards, so make sure you keep your back to the path and not the edge of the mountain.

The skeleton is on an altar at exactly 79.8,45.6. Right-click on the skeleton, click on good-bye and wait. Look between the two pillars closest to you for a ghost. Look for something half-visible (even the yellow question mark is hard to spot...) Exact co-ords for Sha'ni's ghost are: 80.0,45.4

Just did this -- all coords above are good.&nbsp Found the corpse covered in maggots and clicked on it, but all it said was GOODBYE.&nbsp I turned around and the ghost was standing behind me.&nbsp She's kinda hard to see, but she is there.

I walked right up the mountain to the pillars and up to the corpse (if you can read you dont need coordinates it says locale on quest and on the map function on this site). Killed no mobs went up right clicked on the corpse got the maggot statement and...nothing. Is the ghost supposed to be so transparent it doesnt exist.

As of today, I have been able to click on the remains and her name appears in green but there is nothing to click on the complete the quest, there is no "body/ghost" to click on. Just her name.

Edit: after typing this I went back to the game and trying to complete the quest again and this time it worked.

Temp Fix: Let it "despawn" then reclick the remains.

I just sosloed it with my lvl48 Warlock. Went to the bridge, killed to ogres of the lowside, went felsteed and rode all the way up to the top, let me be killed up there, in a secluded spot. So....went up in Ghostform, resurected and waited untill the coast was clear enough to goto the Altar, clicked on the reamins, and her ghost appeared on the inside side of the altar.

very quick quest.

Though might be just a tad hard to try and stay alive all the way if you're "just" a warlock )

BTW, all the coords where good as far as I could tell... we really only need the coords for the bridge, though, as there's only one way&nbsp up to the altar from there

That guy was lying because he feels like tricking everyone who comes to thott..&nbsp It's this huge conspiracy against YOU actually!

Here's the deal:

You go to the top of the mountain, between 4 pillars is Sha'Nai's corpese

Right click on it, her ghost will appear, and she'll give you a new quest.

i saw the coords here.. followed the lava river up towards the top of the mountain (after killing a elemental) and then got up some wierd way and found the pillars there... or you could go to the rope bridge.. much easier to find but with my way you only had to kill 2-3 mobs

just click map ^^ ride straight there from windrider and u cant miss the rope bridge that leads up, easiest 5100xp ever, took like 30sec

went there today 8/7/05, have the quest but using the remains gets me this " The remains are covered in flies and maggots."&nbsp and nopthing else, either the quest or I am broken.

After you click on the skeleton and get the maggots and flies thing, a ghost should appear, go to her to complete the quest and get the next one.

The lock of where you turn is the quest is 80,45, but instead of going into the cave you can just go to (76,38) when you get there it's an path you can take right up to the mountain amd an lot less mobs, but be careful some of the mobs will hit you into the air and off the mountian. I though this was easy for an 57 shamen but any lvl form 50+ can do.
