A few things to keep in mind:

- Make sure that everybody in your group turns in the quest prior to that *before* starting Jail Break.&nbsp If they do and some other members haven't turned in yet, they won't get credit and be rightfully mad ad you.
Clarify these rules way before entering the cell, and remind everyone just before.

- You should clear the center area before starting the quest, but clearing the ring is optional.&nbsp Here is why.

Pro:&nbsp once the area is clear, you're pretty much guaranteed to complete (still have a couple of easy fights left)

Con:&nbsp if you wait for Windsor to fight with you, not only is it one more party member, he has a nice +700 Devotion aura.&nbsp Of course, you also run the risk of having him killed during the run...

At any rate, stay close to him throughout the entire journey.

You don't actually have to kill the two bosses again if you fail. The only thing you will have to do is reseting the instance and talk to him again!

Anyway, here's some strategy for you guys who still keep failing:

-First, clear the circle around the ring of the law.

-Then kill all the mobs on the area which has many "arms" (it's the first room you will enter after going into BRD when on your way to Marshal Windsor).

-Clear the way to Marshal Windsor. BUT DON'T START JAIL BREAK! FIRST YOU MUST CLEAR THE ROOM MARSHAL WINDSOR HAS HIS GEAR IN! (this is the second room Marshal will enter on his way out from BRD). Remember to do this as the last clearance for jail break... Voila, tell me how easy it was.

-When Marshal asks you to meet him at the gates of SW, make a party with someone, and convert into a raid group. Then he will spawn. Follow him to the SW keep, DON'T RUN TO FAR FROM HIM! I had to mention it, because that's also a reason someone fail for. Run out from the range of the mobs in SW keep when they spawn and watch Bolvar have some fun...

(I ve failed "Jail Break!" three times beacause my group didn't clear the storage room/the room Marshal has his gear... =S)

P.S You don't have to tell me how easy it was with this method...

It is very annoying to get a group together and plow through the long, hard and tedious escort only to discover that you haven't received credit for it at the end and have to do it all over again. So, here are some warnings:

1. Make sure EVERYONE has talked to Windsor and completed "A Shred of Hope" before ANYONE accepts "Jail Break!". This means you all need to be standing in range of Windsor and see a "!" over his head. Then, when someone (anyone) accepts the quest, a dialog box should pop up on everyone else's screen saying "x has started Jail Break! Would you like to accep the quest too?" or something similar. If Windsor starts moving and you don't have "Jail Break!" in your quest log, it's time to reset the instance.

2. Do not release your spirit. If you release your spirit, you will be de-linked from the quest and won't receive (Complete) credit at the end, even if you're revived by a party member before you zone in. It won't be marked (Failed) either, so it can be very misleading. The GMs won't help you out either so this is your warning. The second you release your spirit, it's time to reset the instance.

3. Don't let Windsor die or go out of sight. Just like any escort quest if Windsor dies or goes out of visible range the quest will be marked "Failed" and it's time to reset the instance.

Clear the halls in the jail area.&nbsp Clear the loop around the ring of law.&nbsp AND, this is the important part, clear the storeroom in the jail area too.&nbsp You'll need the key off of the named mob in the jail area to do that( only drops 1 per group so all must check corpse and only 1 can get ).&nbsp Do this before you start Jail Break.

There are mobs in storeroom that are pretty easy to handle.&nbsp However, if you don't clear them you get those and spawns when you start the quest.&nbsp I wiped there twice after spending 1.5+ hours clearing.&nbsp Argh!&nbsp Then a guildie showed me what to do.&nbsp BTW, the store room is the NW room in the loop in the jail area.

A good idea to complete this quest is to clean all the path that will take the Marshal before starting it.

You need to clean the hall in front of the entrance, the path around the arena and the path around the rooms in the south (all this is marked with dots). Don't forget to clean the small room in the north-west of point 5 before starting the quest (this is marked by a little stack of dots).

Since this is one of the most time consuming escort quests in the game (due to a lot of trash clearing) make absolutely sure that everyone in your group has completed the Quest "A Shred of Hope" (https://classicdb.ch/?quest=4282) before starting this one. Once the event is running, it can only be started anew by resetting the instance and clearing all the trash again, afaik.

The most critical part of the quest is the storage room located near the end of the first circular path Windsor will be walking. (http://atlasmod.com/Maps/BlackrockDepths.jpg < opposed to the cell marked by n

I did Jail Break! for the first time last night, and it was only my second visit to BRD.

My group followed the instructions from rendervixen's post, and they served us well. Even the one 60 who needed Jail Break! wasn't exactly sure which areas to clear before starting the quest.

My comments follow.&nbsp Refer to https://classicdb.ch/?so=2898 this map if you don't know what the jail area looks like, where the Ring of Law is, etc.

-> Marshal Windsor did not grant a Devotion Aura on the party at any time. I assume this is a change.

-> Windsor takes the most direct path to the Supply Room, a.k.a. the side to the west of his cell.&nbsp That's why you don't need to clear the entire cellblock ring.&nbsp Save some time by skipping the eastern 1/3 of the place.

-> My group left the Cell Doors closed, and that seemed to work out just fine.&nbsp I have no idea what would happen if we had opened & cleared them all!

-> Windsor goes pretty directly from the Supply Room side of the cellblock to the western side of the Ring of Law, but you'll still want the entire large, hexagonal room cleared.&nbsp Then he'll sweep around the Ring of Law, and make a beeline from its southeast hallway to the instance portal (as has already been mentioned).

The fights:

-> One ambush spawn before the Supply Room. IIRC it was 3-4 elite Humanoids.&nbsp Windsor will say something right before the enemies come.

-> More mobs (elite Dwarves) will be in the Supply Room even if you cleared it before.&nbsp Try to get your tanker in there to get aggro off of him relatively soon, because Windsor won't put his gear on until after the room is empty.

-> I believe the next attack doesn't come until the Ring of Law.&nbsp You'll start opening cell doors at his command, releasing enemies.&nbsp First was an ogre + another elite, then there are 2-3 more doors with just a single elite behind them (dwarf, Scarlet guy, etc.).

After the hostile cells, I think the fighting was over.&nbsp There will be one more cell with a neutral NPC that (I believe) someone on Jail Break! has to talk to.&nbsp Then Windsor will sprint to the exit.

Windsor does not have a glass jaw even at first when he's naked.&nbsp He took quite a beating from the first ambush with my group because we weren't expecting it, and still he only hit about half health.

56 Priest (myself, Shadow/Disc)
58 Druid (Feral)
58 Mage (Ice)
60 Mage (in PvP epics... we had DPS aplenty!)
60 Warrior

Jail Break! can be done with a far less "impressive" group than I had if you go into it with this knowledge.&nbsp The only boss fight is potentially High Interrogator Gerstahn -- if your party needs the Prison Cell Key, otherwise you'll face very managable, "normal" BRD groups. Control your pulls while clearing before initiating the quest & you'll be fine.

At least the Druid, 58 Mage, and myself got through A Shred of Hope while we were in there.&nbsp I'm now a Jail Break! veteran, and ready to go through it again for my own benefit =)

I can confirm Huntermaen's advice. My group just did everything he said, except clearing the Storage Room. Well wouldn't you know, we wiped on it and had to reset the instance after over an hour of work clearing it.

If you do not clear it, it will have a double spawn of the regular mobs plus some adds from the quest and basically be impossible. It is the very first openable door on the western side of the jail loop.

Clear this room, or you are doomed to waste several hours resetting the instance and doing the quest over!

I've run jailbreak several times now, and in most cases we clear out the halls before starting the break.&nbsp But last time I did it with a group and we just decided to clear the hall up until Windsor (including the supply room--very important), free him, and have him along as a 6th party member (he's incredibly tough in all that gear of his).&nbsp The group consisted of:

60 Druid (me)
60 Warrior
58 Warrior
56 Priest
55 Warlock

Ironically, even after clearing the supply room initially, we had a scare when suddenly I noticed our priest had d/c'd, so I had to do some emergency healing to keep us alive.&nbsp Luckily he came right back on.&nbsp The big area was no problem...isolated mobs and no pats, no big deal.&nbsp When we got into the hall of the law that's when we ran into trouble.&nbsp We cleared out the npc's in the first couple cells no problem, but then we ran into a mob and then a pat came too at the same time (Windsor just doesn't stop!).&nbsp The 58 warrior (the only one on the quest) had been getting disconnected a lot, and during this fight was just one of those times.&nbsp So he disappeared and we all wiped, and Windsor was left fighting 3 guards alone.&nbsp Then the warrior popped in again and ran into help, priest used soulstone (thank goodness for that) and healed the warrior, then rezzed the rest of us (I had to tank and run up to help windsor--who was already fighting the next group--by the time I was rezzed).&nbsp After that close call, the rest wasn't too bad.&nbsp Windsor can take one heck of a beating in all his armor.&nbsp If you've got a good group and like a fast-paced challenge, then try this option.&nbsp It's way fun!&nbsp And it's a lot faster.

Seeing as how this is an Event Quest, it is not sharable at any time. Also, you'll want to obviously clear out the patrols that block the way from Marshal Windsor exiting the cell to the LEFT direction.

**You will have to check more cells, there will be more Patrols that you did not clear on the way over here that circle around from the other side, make sure you stand clear of them too. Respawn rates are slow you dont have to worry about that. It's also a good idea to let Marshal Windsor draw the aggro first, he is more armored than any party member and can be healed and buffed. Before entering a cell that Marshal Windsor asks you to open, make sure that its at THAT moment where you stop for a rest (regenerate mana and health and rebuff)

For this, you will most likely a strong healer, a armored tank, and a Paladin to hog the Aggro from all other party members. Marhsal Windsor will attack at random, make sure you leave alone the target he chooses, as you would with a Hunter's Pet. When you breach the end of this event, talk to Marshal Windsor and then you are able to roam the rest of Blackrock Depths as you wish and leave him there. When you leave the instance, he will too (hearthstone, portal, walking, anything)

It's been a long journy and you're almost done!

We cleared out the loop around Windsor, but didn't clear out the Ring of Law. Once Windsor had his gear, we had no problem!

After Windsor freed his friend, he started running to the instance portal. He got about half way across the large main room, and dissappered! I'm still standing in the instance waiting for a GM to respond... Hopefully I don't have to run this again!

Yesterday we were attempt Jbreak, starts easy but near the middle of the fight gets hard, he start running and pulls group by group, first of all you should clear the supply room, its more easier this way, supply room is the first room at the right at the Marshal's tunnel.Marshal can manage a whole group by himself, he dont die easy, so if you are out of mana or health and he is fighting dont worry too much, take your breath and bandage your self/ rec for a few sec.The most difficult part is when the ogre boss showns up, a group of dwarves are near and attacking and an elemental patrol charges on you,
thats near the fire elementals side at the middle of the tunnel.
The !@$#@ is that if you attempt to do lbreak and die at first, when you go for a second try ( same or other day ) probably you will never complete it!
if someone knows whats wrong pls advise cause i am out of ideas, I was died at my first attempt, yesterday I was there again and thats happened:
When I saw the Marshal i didnt have any questionmark above him, in my q log i have the q as incomplete but no failed, I could talk to the marshal although and he started his course, everything went ok, we kill all his encounters and he managed to go alive with him at the instance entrance, I vener stayed away of him, it never said failed, but the q didnt complete. Some tips:

I ran this as a lvl 70 lock with a lvl 50 pally and a lvl 52 lock. They pretty much watched as I cleared. I cleared the ring around Windsor's cell, but didn't bother with the ring around the 'ring of law'.

If you have a felguard, be careful with the 'cleave' ability by the outside of the storage room. One thing I wasn't expecting when clearing the area by the storage room was that when having the felguard tank a mob outside the storage room, mobs INSIDE the storage room got hit with cleave -- and aggro'd -- and came running out. Luckily my Felguard can tank well, and 'seed of corruption' came in handy, as well as a healing pot.

Once Windsor has his armor on (in the storage room), it takes an act of God to kill him. He can definitely hold his own very well. We had no problems clearing the area around the ring of law with him. If you don't clear, be prepared for non-stop fighting, though. :-) It's actually kinda fun as a lvl 70.

GM says I did something wrong and nothing they can do. I believe as of may 5th 06 the quests where players that can accept the same quest (player so and so is starting such and such would you like to accept) is glitched. This isnt the only quest I have been screwed on and thats why I think there is a glitch but GMs wont respond to me now.

I just did this last night with a guild group:

60 Warrior
60 Priest (me)
60 Hunter
59 Warrior
52 Paladin

It really was not difficult at all, and we didn't have a whole lot of DPS in our grouop. You have to clear out all the mobs from the entire prison loop and the entire ring of law loop. You also have to clear all the mobs in the big room that connects them. Marshal Windsor manages to wander almost the entire length of both loops. There are occasional spawns of mobs, but they weren't all that difficult for us.

You don't have to do the ring of law event, and you don't have to clear out the center rooms in the middle of the prison area loop.
