Once you have returned to Winna, click on the cat to release it to Winna.

Return the corrupted cat to Winna Hazzard
Provided Item:
Winna's Kitten Carrier

Description

This corrupted water can be used to our advantage, <name>. With just a small amount of the water, my kitten doubled in size, and seems to be stronger... somehow. These cats may prove useful...

Here, <name>. Take this cat carrier, and release the kitten inside next to the moonwell in the Ruins of Constellas. Heh, heh... I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results!

Return the cat to me, and I'm sure I can make it worth your time.

After returning to Winna Hazzard with the corrupted cat, you must talk to the pet to continue the quest. Until you do this, Winna will have a gray question mark above her head.

Also, be quick about talking to the cat. Once you are close enough to Winna Hazzard, the cat stops and no longer follows you. The cat will despawn quickly so be sure to talk to it quickly otherwise you'll be doing the whole thing over again.

Title says it all.&nbsp Seems someone did bury this comment on the page afterall but I did the quest without knowing this and wondered why I couldn't turn it in.&nbsp Had to go back, and discover the hard way.

Do yourself a favor, and right click cat first.&nbsp I did everything possible to try to make this stand out from the page for people looking for coords or whatever, so they won't have to go back.

Some of the previous posters indicated these symptoms as well, but here goes:

Your cat will no longer follow you once you get into Bloodvenom.&nbsp It goes and sits next to Winna.&nbsp And you will NOT see the gold dot on your mini map.&nbsp You have to go to the cat, right-click, and "release" the cat before the gold question mark will appear above Winna.

As a previous poster indicated, you don't seem to have much time once the cat leaves your side.&nbsp Someone I did the quest with was running around when we returned it and the cat disappeared from Winna's side before he realized what was going on, and he had to abandon and start over.

Fight your way in and open the carrier, the cat turns into a large green cat that is very fast.&nbsp Just mount up and ride back to the road, as long as you don't get knocked off your mount by running right over a Jadefire, you are home free.&nbsp The cat follows you, unlike other escort quests, so just haul and get to the road and that's it!

Did this as a 52 Hunter.&nbsp Some mobs will respawn behind you, but as I say, just run around them and continue to the road.

Edit: The first time, it didn't let me "talk" with the cat at first so I wound up wandering too far away and it despawned. Second time I noticed it was letting me "talk" with the cat, and was able to complete the quest.

Very easy quest as a rogue, only problem I had was getting ganked by a mage on the way to hand it in...

So you know, if you die while you have the corrupted saber, you will have to abandon the quest an re-get it. So just be careful. Cat does not despawn when mounted so either that got patched... or y'all have some bad luck.

(Coords for pool are, 32.66)

I just completed this quest on 2/27/07.

I had read the posts and thought I was supposed to right-click the cat's portrait when I was suppose to release him to Winna. However, when we arrived, I hoovered over the cat and a chat bubble appeared. When i clicked him, he gave the prompt to be released and that was that. Much simpler than previous posts made it sound.

Don't know if this was recently changed. Just thought someone should know.

For those of you who hate escort quests, this one is a little different. When you release the kitten at the corrupted well, it turns into a saber kitten level 5. The great thing about this escort quest as opposed to others is that the Saber Cat doesn't lead you, it follows you very closely and it doesn't get involved in fights. That said, all that was involved in getting back through the camp was pretty much what was involved in getting to the well in the first place. Methodically kill the satyrs in your path or that might interfere with your progress. As a level 54 Warlock, I used my Voidwalker to take all the agro and in the couple of instances when I either drew agro myself or got an add, the kitten was passive and the satyrs did not bother it, which allowed me to go at my own pace, fight, use pots or eat when I needed and not have to worry about the cat. It moved or stopped when I moved or stopped. Far easier than your typical escort quest. Just remember to release the cat to the quest giver when you get back to camp.

Unless you gonna go in adn kill everything each way waiting and doing it at a higher level works pretty good. I forgot about this whole area and went back at 58 ran in did quest, ran out, in, out. and still got like almost 5k exp for this part of quest. Also...does anything come after this? I want one of those things as a guardian!

This quest is horrid solo as it's almost impossible to lead the cat out alive even if you clear the whole area first as it only takes one respawn to one shot kill it.

I had read that the best way to do this (solo) is to clear a spot in the back, release the cat, then hop on your mount and purposely train as many mobs on to you as possible while leaving the area. The theory being that the cat would follow you and all the mobs in your path would already be hitting you leaving your cat alone. I tried this about 10 times last night and every time sooner or later the cat would attempt to defend me and since I wasn't fighting back, draw aggro, and die instantly.

I chose a much longer and more tedious method: I cleared the back spot, released the cat, then hopped off of the side of the mountain into Darkshore. I avoided all the mobs and fled the Alliance controlled zone ASAP then slowly rode through Ashenvale and back to Winna carefully steering clear of any mobs.

Another note: When you get back you must talk to the cat to release it before talking to Winna and claiming your reward.

I soloed this as a 49 Rogue.

Stealth into the camp. Release the cat at the moonwell. Re-enter stealth. Stealth out.

The cat by itself doesn't draw any aggro and walks past everything unharmed. If you are stealthed and draw no aggro you get out unmolested.

I got the cat back successfully, but not knowing that I had to talk to the cat, I looked up on here what I was supposed to do, and by the time I got back to WoW screen, the cat had despawned, so I had to drop the quest and now I'm going to do it again.

Moral of the story: The cat will despawn if you don't do the quest quick enough.

Had a hunter just went with a Silver Tabby Broken Tooth and was mounted ran in. FD easy (lvl 55) none of them resisted. Then I go and get the corrupted saber. Awesome to see 3 cats. Ran out but Broken Tooth died turned in quest after like 1 minute since the cat wasn't able to be talked to for a sec.

I mounted in, dazed, died. Revived, healed, ran some more. Died. Let the kitty out and mounted, ran back, died. When you die with the kitty out you need to go back to the pool and redo it from the start. So it's not as easy as everyone's saying unless you are a rogue.

If you're having a run of bad luck, this quest can be amazingly difficult.
If you live in the middle of nowhere like me, and still have dialup (as satellite is not available), then your first problem lies with disconnections, disconnect in a bad spot, you die, cat dies. After about 3 attempts i finally got the cat out, and a level 60 mage decided to poly me halfway up the road and finish me off, time to start again...morale of the story, this quest is totally bent, 5 attempts and still trying.
Although for those rogues out there (like me) if you have a good connection, it's stupidly easy :)
and for the record, don't be tempted by the thorium vein beside the demon camp, you'll get a ton of satyr's on you followed by a disconnection!

Completed on 6/23/08 without any glitches--the saber followed me on my mount all the way back to the post with no problem. Quest easily soloed (using caution) as a 54 frost mage. Appreciate the comments about talking to the cat first and *then* talking to the quest giver upon returning.
