Incendicite Ore (6)

Description

I heard that a rare ore, incendicite, was found in the Wetlands, in a cave northwest of Algaz Gate. Incendicite is volatile stuff and hard to use without blowing yourself up, but I'm sure if it's smelted the right way it could make cannon shells that pack a mighty punch!

Get me incendicite ore and I'll find someone brave enough to experiment with it.

Oh, and to extract that ore from a vein you'll need skill in mining. If you don't have it, then ... bring a friend who does to that cave!

Travel to Thelgen Rock, just North of the Dun Algaz entrance into the Wetlands.&nbsp The entrance is on the left, surrounded by lvl 20-22 spiders.&nbsp This little cave is a great place to level, farm sellable/disenchantable items, and improve mining skill.&nbsp

Mining skill can be a tad difficult to improve in the 100-150 range (mentioned above I believe) and the incendicite counts towards the mining skill.&nbsp
Additionally, one can continue to mine the ore after reaching the six ore necessary to complete the quest.&nbsp &nbsp The ore may be auctionable, making it possible to sell the excess ore to those too lazy to travel to the cave themselves.

The spiders are evenly spaced and may be killed one at a time with little chance of being mobbed.&nbsp The necessity of mining skill (65) prevents some from making use of this cave but the exp. gained from the mobs and the quest make this place great for those who can.

I was able to mine this at skill 115 in mining, and got several increases from it as well, as it was still green.

If you are not a miner you can buy the ores from AH if there is any for sale or ask a friend who is miner to get the ores for you. The ores itself are not Soulbound and can be traded freely.

This quest is very useful as it also increases your mining skill during the dull time of around 110-130 mining skill level.

This requires mining 65.. 3 of us in my guild needed this quest, and the incendicite ore takes a while to spawn... We spent prolly 1.5 hrs in there mining and killing the critters.&nbsp Found the cave at 53,64.&nbsp I got 1850exp at lev 23.

Yes, All you need to do is stop by the AH and buy up the goods those farmers put up, or you can ask a guildy/friend to mine it for you.

In my opinion, this cave is by far the best place to Lvl your Mining from 85=>125 (tell your friend this)
Cheers!

I went in there as a 23 Warrior and found it pretty easy.&nbsp The spiders are agressive but not social, so pull them with a ranged attack if possible.&nbsp Also if you're also doing the warrior quest "Fire Hardened Mail" you can kill two birds with one stone in here as all the spiders drop 1 or 2 of the required fangs every death ( you need 50 ).

The xp from the spiders is decent and they don't do much damage ( to me anyway ), but they will always keep you poisoned.&nbsp The poison isn't strong and I barely notice it but your character will be green the entire time you're in there, and it interrupts bandages and shadow melding.

The incenidite mines yield one or two ore each, and if you sit around the first and second corners you can wait for the ore to respawn without getting too deep in.

The only time I died in there was when I couldn't be bothered working my way out so made a run for it.

Go north through Dun Algaz into the wetlands. Once there the map map should say Thelgen Rock. Go until it turns to Mosshide Fen then turn west and slightly south. You should run right into the mountains and it should be right in the area.

just finished this quest....great place to skill up your mining.&nbsp Spiders respawn quickly so need to keep your wits.&nbsp Treasure chest respawns usually in one of the two pools of water.&nbsp Found good stuff for my enchanting...even got a blue item.&nbsp Overall, great place to level up.

Ore is useless except to finish the quest.&nbsp You can't smelt it or use it for anything useful. On the plus side, there are tin and silver deposits in the mine as well.

Have anyone brought up the fact that you have a bigger aggro range if you are of a lower level, e.g a level 20 character would find it harder to pull the spiders one at a time then a level 25 character.
This could be the reason why some people find it harder then others, apart from apparent reasons like class etc.

Yeah the reward for this is pretty damned weak. But, that's not the point of this quest. You can up your mining a bit from mining the incendicite as well as the other minerals in the cave. But along the way I got a ton of experience, I collected enough spider-type vendor trash to earn about 1 gold, plus I got three drops. One green, two blue. It was a forest buckler, as starlight tunic and a Gargoyle's Bite. So happy hunting, the loot for this quest is well worth it.

I took my rogue in there, mined 36 incendicite, 40 tin, 4 silver, killed a rare spider, and found three chests before I got bored and left.

It was easy for me just to skulk around the spiders or drop a dummie if I got swarmed.

I went ahead and mined it for my husband and guildies whilest I was there.

The rogue/engineer combo worked out really well for this quest.

I think I ended up gaining 20 points in mining by the end of my trip thru.

At level 23, I died five times and not getting more into the cave than into the first intersection. The spiders respawn super-fast. I've tried Gift of the Naaru, potions, bandages and JC statues. I still died. (My AoE grinding skills are mediocre so I didn't try this.)

Best is to do this quest after The Algaz Gauntlet http://classicdb.ch/?quest=455
So you only need to make the long walk from to Menethil 'once'.
From Menethil you can just fly to IF and down Dun Morogh to turn it in.

As a lvl 20 warrior.&nbsp Got about 1/2 way in, got 2 ore, and was progressing smoothly, then aggroed to by accident and that was the end.&nbsp Used up 5 light healing pots in the process, and by the time I got back to my body, the spiders had all respawned (fast!).&nbsp I tried to rez, but there's no place to rez without aggroing, and I couldn't take a 22 spider with half my hp gone to start.
Damn.&nbsp SO close, I could see 2 more veins right ahead, and if I'd gotten past that corner, it would be very simple, single pulls.&nbsp Probably could be done if you are very, very careful never to die.

The cavern is full of spiders level 20-22. Bring friends if your under 20 and move quickly. The repop on the spiders is fast and they will back spawn rapidly which can add grief if your in the cavern mining Tin and Incendicite. It's possible to skill mining to at least 130 in this cavern.

there are about 4 Indencite Veins in Thelgen Rock you need to mine for these. Each has 1-2 of these ores. The mining req. is rather low, no way you don't have that much yet when you do that quest. Was also worth some more skill-points for me, including some tin/silver veins in there.

Same skill as tin or silver -- both of those are "green" to me...

One other thing, I found 3 tin mines and 2 silver mines in there while looking around... Was in for about 25 min. 2 tins and a silver "popped up" while I was in there so that was 5 tine and 3 silver mines total in 25 minutes. Not to shabby...

It's a good cave to farm (and there's even a chest in the cave!). Darn I though I could use the ore. Made my stash look sooooo good :P

If you can mine Iron, you defintely can mine that. It was green for me. Lot's of spiders in there yep and there's also a semi-elite spider there too (with a grey Dragon around its picture) dropped a shield for me, one that had the same image as a spider drop.

Tin and copper pop out there too.
