Description

Pilot Stonegear loves his siege engine, as every pilot should! And he's always eager to find new ways to improve his tank's firepower!

He heard rumors of a rare ore and is looking for someone to hunt it down for him. If your boots are starting to itch, then find Stonegear at Steelgrill's Depot in Dun Morogh and see what he wants.

I seem to remember Longbeard told me about it...the dwarf in Ironforge military ward, next to the big birdlike tanks.

Of course, that doesn't mean you can get it twice - when you have picked it up from one of them, the second will no longer offer it. Also, if you've picked up the quest from Stonegear, none of them will offer it. All very logical.

one of my alts just got this quest from one of the guards patrolling back and forth thru Thelsamar in Loch Modan - Mountaineer Kadrell. guess the info for this quest needs to be updated...

ok you must be lvl 20 to get this quest from 1 of 2 NPCs, the guy by the Gates of Ironforge or Mountaineer Kadrell in Thelsamar. the pilot is at Steelgrill's Depot (you should have helped him out once already to outfit his siege engine). when you go to Thelgen Rock in the Wetlands you either need to have mining skill lvl tin, or bring a friend that has the skill. warriors on the Fire Hardened Mail quest can get the fangs from all the spiders in the same place. it is not too hard of a quest and the XP is decent.

Mountaineer Kadrell in Thelsamar does indeed give this quest, as does the Pilot, but as with dual alliance/horde quests that have different starting points Anonymous only records one of them. Anonymous suffers from the same flaw.

he is at (49, 48), for ctmod/cosmos users, in dun morogh. just follow the gates out of ironforge and he is in the town there

I am 17 lvl paladin and I have 115 skill in mining (yes I know...) and I am going to do it now. I wish I could do it earlier but I didnt know about it till now. On the other hand from what I have read it is really going to boost my skill^^
