Return the Alien Egg to Hagar Lightninghoof in Freewind Post.

Description

A rumor has surfaced about an alien egg here in Thousand Needles. Those that report seeing this egg have failed to even get close enough to examine it in detail. Serpents guard the egg as if it's one of their own.

I want you to seek out this alien egg and bring it to me so that I may examine it. Reports say the egg is located within a serpent den, but there are several serpent dens along the base of the cliff walls south and northeast of Freewind Post.

The egg location wanders between three diferent locations.

When someone picks up the egg from one location, it respawns at one of the others.

As a result, if you can't find it in one location, look in one of the others.

This quest is a reference to Aliens. The reason the serpent kills the dog before it jumps is because in the movie (either one of the movies or the game, can't remember which) a newly hatched Alien feeds on dogs (and other such pet animals).

Top left corner of World Map is 0,0.
Bottom left corner is 0,100.
Top right corner is 100,0.
Bottom right corner is 100,100.
Dead center of map is 50,50.

You should be able to "estimate" coordinates while looking at the map, even if you don't have Cosmos...but Cosmos makes it a WHOLE lot easier.

Here's the loc where I found my egg: 51,56. Go there and slay a few Cloud Serpents and you're done. After you complete the quest Hagar Lightinghoof will set the egg on the ground and it will hatch. When it hatches a Cloud Serpent flies around and kills a dog the flies off the cliff. You can target it but you can't kill it. Once done you can get another quest, Serpent Wild, level 26.

My results:
You gain 2100 experience.
Your reputation with Thunder Bluff has increased.
Received 15 Silver.

Just a FYI serpents dens are not dens at all, just look for an egg out in the open, should be a few Flying serpents around it.

Finish that and go to Thunderbluff @ Elder Rise to turn it in.

Take the lift down and follow the path to the right. When it starts to bend east, look for the egg on the cliff guarded by some serpents.

So true, killed one serpent, got the egg, all under 5 min from getting quest.

Found at 56,50&nbsp Guarded by Elder Cloud Serpents.&nbsp They are level 28 and while their defense is nothing to worry about, their offense (Lightning bolt) hits HARD!&nbsp

On my way back to the Post, I saw that it had respawned at 52,55 and it was guarded by level 26 Venomous cloud serpent and level 26 cloud serpent.

56,50 as well. Hunters, when completing the quest, the egg hatches into an elite lvl 20 fly serpent thing. If you want to tame it, stable your pet before you turn in the quest.

Just to the east of freewind post, and to the north of the road (don't have co-ords, sorry) in one of the little "hollow" areas, I found a nest guarded by a lvl 29 and two lvl 27 flying serpents.

I'm a lvl 24 rogue - I stealthed in and got the egg before they noticed me there.

As for other classes, not sure...

if you are having problems finding the egg at the loc that is listed by contevita it is probably because it has a long respawn time. I grabbed the egg and waitied around for it to respawn but it never did for like 15 minutes.. In case the egg is not there check at 37, 56. Thats southwest of Freewind Post on the wall of the map thats where i was able to find another one guarded by Venomous Cloud Spirits.
