The Tauren, Kanati Greycloud is bold to set up a hunting camp in Thousand Needles. We must kill him to rid this hunting camp and all who may follow him. We will converge at the small post Southwest of the Great Lift.

Coords are 21, 32 <or> just west of the Great Lift... (https://classicdb.ch/?npc=10617)

- Walk west to main path... follow that north and you'll see it just up on the left.
- Follow on quest has 3 lvl 27/28 attack.
- I used a heal potion and was able to take care of them as a 33 hunter (w/o pet out, I was just passing through)

As Alliance you can get the quest from the centaur messenger, but this is definately a horde only quest.... this npc is hostile towards alliance.

The Cords are 21.32 I completed this quest as a 27 Shaman with relative ease. Being buffed sure did help alot. Easy XP on this one!

So I killed the centaur that began this quest. Found him on the trail to The Great Lift. Went over to the camp and started the quest. The NPC started killing one of them (level 30) and my cat another (level 31), and that left me with a level 33. We all died, but the quest is still available to me through the NPC. All I have to do is talk to him and start the quest all over again. I'm a level 27 Horde hunter. Probably could have killed them all if they were around my level like everyone is saying, but they weren't.&nbsp

Just a thought, for you alliance types.&nbsp Perhaps the Horde gets to escort him, where the Alliance gets to kill him.

To find the mob Galak Messenger, which drops the "Assassination Note", which starts this quest, just wait at the intersection at location 29,34 and for those who don't have coords, it is the first intersection south of the great lift that leads to either Freewind Post or Whitereach Post.

I got the Assassination Note a couple of levels ago, but I'm a 32 Mage now.&nbsp When I right-click the note, it tells me I don't meet the requirements for this quest....&nbsp ideas?

I did this quest with my lvl 28 shaman. I let one fight the quest objective and took 2 myself.
For 1 I used a taunting totem and killed the other, then killed the second and assisted the objective.. They hadn't very high lvls tho, I think 30 was the highest. Maybe they tweaked the quest a bit?

after a few sec a lvl31 kentaur warrior (Achellios the Banished) spawned

solo'ed as a lvl 26 mage. As soon as they come get them together and use frost nova then flamestrike and cone of cold then keep using arcane explosion.

finished him easely with L28 Shammy.
summon any totem you want ( I summoned my fire totem), and stand in the tent behind the NPC. You will pull 1 centaur at the time now which you can kill really simple. Heal NPC each time when nessesary

Easy enough, but the people that first posted could have been mistaken about the mobs that spawn. There is a 31 mob who pats right through that camp with 3 pack hounds, you don't agro them (that i'm aware of) but the others spawn and you might attack the wrong one and agro them all. My first time trying this quest I did this, he ran right past and I thought he spawned so i attacked him and died.

I dont get it. This quest is for horde isnt it? Because I was sitting on the road and the messenger attacked me and i killed him. The note dropped off him but what could i do with it? If I approach (I am not horde) I get attacked. Is there an alliance side to this quest as well?

I'm Lvl 33. I successfully killed Katani, but didn't get any quest credit. Note that the wording of the quest contradicts itself, anyway. I suspect it's broken. The description says, "warn Katani" while the body says "kill Katani". It conflicts. I can't speak with him, as I'm KOS as Alliance, but when I kill him I also don't get any quest credit. I've bugged it, so we'll see what happens.

I spoke with a GM about this quest in-game. It is indeed Horde-only, and is currently bugged (in that it's dropping for Alliance). It should be fixed in the next patchh.

Read the quest info for the follow up quest to this one (Protect Kanati Greycloud) before you warn Kanati. 3 level 31 mobs will spawn on you if you immediately accept the follow up quest after completing this one.

make sure you've plenty of healing potions, three things come up and attack you when you talk to him :-(
