Falling to Corruption

Search the Deadwood furbolg camp in northern Felwood for a clue.

Description

This greenish liquid... it reminds me a bit of the sludge I saw when traveling through Felwood. And I have seen some Winterfall Runners passing into Timbermaw... Perhaps these things have something to do with the flask you found, <name>.

There is a large group of furbolg just past Timbermaw Hold, in Felwood. Called the Deadwood tribe, they have been corrupted and driven mad by the fel. Why don't you look around there and see if you can find any evidence of dealings between the Winterfall and the Deadwood?

The cauldron is in Felwood at (60, 5), top left of the mountain range at the top center.

The cauldron can be clicked on and its like talking to an NPC so you don't need to kill the mob, just run in, click it and escape.

But I killed the mob before I found that out :P

Just a warning, as well. The five mobs that are around the cauldron are linked, so be prepared to run if you can't fight all of them at once.

The cauldron is an instant action, so you don't need to kill the group camping it (I think it was three deadwoods and a winterfall). Just run in, exchange quests and run out.

Don't bother going in bear form, you can't interact with the cauldron while shapeshifted xD.

You can however cast a Regrowth and a Rejuv, run in there and click to complete quest, then keep healing yourself as best you can while the quest text scrolls and the 5 or 6 furbolgs wail on you :> Nature's Swiftness and Barkskin both very helpful.

If you're a hunter or a warlock, set your pet to attack the mob on the farthest side of the camp and while it keeps the mobs busy, you can run in and check the cauldron before running like hell.

I'm a level 59 Priest. I got in riding my mount alongside the mountains to the west. Sheilded myself, Feared then clicked on the caulderon (pot of boiling liquid in middle of camp) and ran into the lake.

Great fun!

If you are coming from Winterspring to do this quest,&nbsp you will find the camps to the right down the hill. The camp you are looking for is way to the back end of the lake.&nbsp

Noticed there's no shammy msg here, so here it goes: rush in between them, drop an eathbind, run away, drop another stoneclaw a little far off, go complete quest while they aggro the stoneclaw, and drop another earthbind for their return. wolf your way outta there.

Walked in, got cauldron, strolled out twiddling my thumbs. Seriously, with as many people farming this place for timbermaw rep as there are, I have a hard time finding deadwood to kill, much less having any obstacles to the cauldron. If there are furbolgs there and you don't know how to get past, wait five minutes and 40 guys will show up wanting to farm rep.

As a rogue, just simply right click the cauldron and then swap quests. Then when monsters charge at you, simply hit the vanish button.

first couldnt find the camp for the life of me... for those of you without cosmos...the camp is in the Felpaw Village at the north eastern tip of the map.

Anyways, lvl 56 fire mage.&nbsp crossed the pond as everyone else did, cleared a path.. now the camp where the cauldron is is NOT at the camp right on the water.&nbsp the camp is set north west away from the water.&nbsp about 5 or 6 felpaws are circled around the cauldron.&nbsp i positioned myself so when i shot fireball, all creatures aggroed.&nbsp once they got to me, blasted frost nova and ran for the cauldron.&nbsp i also silenced the one shammy that was there.&nbsp completed, accepted and ran for my life back to the water!&nbsp mind you i used scroll of protection, agi, and my usual ice barrier, arcane int, and dampen magic for kicks.&nbsp good luck all!

Just make sure you try to avoid the Den Watchers. They are the ones that call out for help when damaged. If you have to fight them, draw them as further away from the rest of the crowd as possible. Aside from this, this is a piece of cake, just gotta grind your way to the cauldron.

I don't know why you have all spent you're time flooding this section with tactics to click on the pot....

With my 52 mage, (ahem*, cloth-user) I just ran in, calmly clicked on it, hit accept, popped a mana shield just in case, and ran 30yrds away with 70% hp/mana. Whats all the fuss? the easiest quest ive ever had to do!

you hardly need to clear a path. If it's too difficult, kill the 3 mobs along the cliff to the right for a pathway to run with. they'll lose agro by the time you hit the tree at the other end.

Man I cant believe im posting this. i feel sorry for you guys if you plan on getting honored or even friendly for that matter.

You can't see the cauldron from the lake. Swim to the northern most part of the lake and you will see a camp on the left side. To the left of this camp you will see a large tree and some deadwoods wandering around to the left of this tree. If you kill a couple mobs next to the shore you should be able to get up to the tree and go around to the north. There is another camp there and the cauldron in question is right in the middle. I took an invulnerability potion and ran up to the cauldron. It takes a couple seconds (about 7) for the quest text to scroll so I managed to complete it before they killed me. Then I rezzed at the gy. There are about 5 mobs in camp surrounding the cauldron. Very nasty place.

A lvl 57 outrunner, a 55 caster and two 55 non-casters was all that was there after I killed off the other close by mobs. Sap the 57, blind, blade flurry and just plain wipe them out. Really very easy.

30.5 is right on the money.

Felpaw Village. Just west of entrance to tunnel.
NW of green pond is the cauldron.
Guarded by about 7 or 8 mobs.

Was just getting ready to sack the VW for snatch and grab, when a human ran by and aggro'd everyone. Easy as pie, in and out for me. LOL.

As an Paladin, start on the mount left of the culdron. Run in to the camp and cast blessing of protection (arm your stopwatch first). Running out is the fun part, but that's what the second shield is for. Run and run.

60, 01

Did it with my 55 lock. Swim to the north of the lake till you see the northernmost cap, left of it is a big tree. The cauldron is in a small camp behind it. I armed my mechanical yeti, send VW to attack the lvl 57 and attract aggro. Check the cauldron and run like hell back to the lake. Had to use howl of terror to get rid of some mobs chasing me and after that i walked out pretty fine :)

A good way to do this quest if you're a class that has pets (hunter/warlock) is to send your pet in tho pull aggro so you just run in complete the quest get the next quest then run. Hopefully your pet will be able to survive long enough for you to get away. If not, feign death (if your a hunter)or (howl of terror) to get away or just lose all aggro.

the thing you're supposed to "find" is a cauldron at the very far north part of the camp, just click on it and it start the next part of the chain called "mystery goo"
