Tribal Leatherworking

Bring a Wild Leather Vest and a Wild Leather Helmet to Se'Jib in Stranglethorn Vale.

Completing this quest will give you access to the Tribal Leatherworking arts.

The completion of this quest will prevent you from learning Dragonscale Leatherworking and Elemental Leatherworking; be sure this is the path you wish to follow before doing so.
Wild Leather Vest
Wild Leather Helmet

Description

To learn tribal leatherworking demands an understanding of how primal nature truly is; I know that you have already mastered the art of making wild leather armor, and I am willing to complete your training.

Know this, <class>: by choosing this path you agree never to learn dragonscale or elemental leatherworking; there is only room for practice of one of the three arts. Furthermore, bring to me the finest samples of your wild leather armor. From there, we will begin your mastery.

You must complete all the Wild Leather quests first before you can get the Tribal Leather quest.

Well, i had big troubles getting this Tribal Leatherworking. But at the end i found out. As a Undead Rogue i completed all the Wild Leather-quest from Jangdor in Camp Mojache, Feralas. Then i should deliver a letter to the LW trainer in TB, and exspected that she would say where to go then. But no, nothing. I have a lot ealier in the game seen a Tribal Leatherworker a bit outside Gromgol Base Camp, in Strangelthron Vale, and decided to see if he could give me Tribal Leatherworking. And&nbsp yes, he could, so now i have the quest for Tribal Leatherworking:D

And im on the right road. But first of all complete all Wild Leather-quest, deliver the letter to the LW trainer in TB, have 250+ in LW skill, and then give a guy southeast of Gromgol Basecamp, STV, a visit:)

to do the 5 wild leather quests before the cloak, you need all of this:
182 Thick Leather
8 Wildvine
26 Silk Thread
12 Heavy Silk Thread
108 Turtle Scales
all of this will make every piece you need to finish the first 5 quests.&nbsp Methinks this is slighly expensive.

I'm a 69 Orc Rogue that stopped by Se'Jib in STV to see if new patterns were available after the patch.&nbsp I had selected Tribal back when I was 45 because I could.&nbsp I didn't know better and it didn't seem like an issue.&nbsp Since most armor pieces were BoE, I had no problems making items then selling them anyway.&nbsp Devilsaur Armor was the best set to farm and sell, BTW.

I'm not sure when it was changed, but when I spoke to the Troll in STV, new patterns were available including 3 epic items.&nbsp Unfortunately, they were ALL BoP.&nbsp So, nothing I'd be able to make was usable.&nbsp THIS is where my Tribal LW became an issue.

However, I also noticed that he gave me the option of unlearning it.&nbsp It would cost 100G, but it could happen.

So, after I get my flying mount, I plan to unlearn it and go Elemental.&nbsp I should still be able to get some low lvl Tribal patterns, tho.

Nano is wrong, you do not need lw at 250 to get tribal.&nbsp I have tribal and I am not at 245 yet, nor was I even at 240 when I got it.

finally i come bearing the gift of knowledge which every other person has failed to contribute.&nbsp i logged in to petition a GM on this quests bug (which isnt bugged after all) and found i had mail, this is the key factor to getting the quest.&nbsp Once you complete the quest: Improved Quality from Feralas, the quest NPC (the leatherworking supplier) sends you a letter containing: (1) rugged leather kit, and some random compliments and other meaningless dribble. All you need to do is wait for this mail, then once recieved goto the tribal trainer near grom gol, he will then have the quest. Take note, this is for horde only, as i noticed some alliance ... pfft, typical alliance, was asking why he couldnt get the quest off the aggressive horde character, um ... DUH

IMO Tribal is the best to go-
You cater for the two main leather wearing classes, the devilsaur armour is better than stormshroud for rogues and druids buy it also.

I am a hunter and looking at the options, tribal is the one to make the most money and service the most people, seeing as though many shamans and hunters prefer Elements and Beaststalkers.

Eastern Kingdom, Stranglethorn Vale (36,34)

You get the quest when your done with the leather quests in camp mojache. Also you need enough level (35?) and enough leatherworking skill (250?)

Good luck.

Most Rogues prefer the Devilsaur set over the Stormshroud set.

It really doens't matter which you choose as only you'll use either's pieces for a few of levels.&nbsp End game leather armor are all drops at this point.

for the quests before this, the best place to farm turtle scales is no doubt on the eastern coast of the hinterlands, north of revantusk. it's nearly a 100% droprate, and if it's not, it'll be good leather, rugged or thick

Also, I had made myself a Wild Leather Vest of Intellect which was perfect for me (I'm a resto druid) so I was wearing that when I handed in the quest. I also had a Wild Leather Vest of Power in my backpack which was the vest I intended to give to Se'jib to train in tribal leatherworking. Rather annoyingly, he took the vest I was wearing instead, leaving me without decent chest armor for a while. Extremely annoying, and pretty unavoidable. Be warned!

Is there a place I can read up on the different types of leatherworking? I am not sure which one I want to go with for my hunter and I want to research the choice before I make a boo boo of picking the wrong one.
I have a troll hunter and a night elf hunter that both do leather, and I am not sure yet if they both should pick the same one (I assume hunters would just be the same...not that the race matters) or what.
Any advice?

As a level 40-41 druid, I found the best place to farm for turtle scales was on the Tanaris coast. I had a pretty high droprate, and got lots of good drops as well (including a blazing emblem). I was able to complete the quest at level 41, after levelling up my leatherworking to 250.

you need to complete the wild leather quests which, for the horde, begins in Feralas.
