Description

The contract you recovered was signed by Baron Vardus, a noble of the former kingdom of Alterac, and one known for a cold heart and brutal practices. I'm not surprised someone like the Baron was behind this.

Find this man. Find him, and bring him to justice. He must be among the Syndicate haunts - perhaps at the ruins of Strahnbrad, or perhaps within the valley north of them.

For those who dont know where Strahnbrad its in the Alterac mountains, just follow the path from the Hillsbrad area north, you will come to a fork in the road take the right one and keep going and you will find it.

(Note all the camps are in the Alterac Mountain zone.)

As for Baron, hes another problem he can be found in the Inn in Strahnbrad, or in that general area.

If hes not there look in the Sofera's Naze area (Its just south of Strahnbrad).

If hes not there... you can look in the Corrahn's Dagger area as well (South West of Sofera's Naze).

If not there... (I feel for you) but there is yet hope check in the Gavin's Naze area (West of Corrahn's Dagger).

As other people have said if you looked in all four places he has probably been killed... so you have to recheck each again.

I hope this little bit of info helps everyone... took me a few hours to find him...

he spawns in camps in the valley but he also has a hidden spawn in the basement of the inn behind some barrels 59.43

Okay, a friend and I did this quest.

The first time around, the Baron was at the first camp. When we went to turn it in, we realized that he didn't loot the head. Haha. So we went back..

After reading the comments, we found him at the third camp.

So, just saying, there are THREE possible camps. He could also be in the inn.

The camps are OBVIOUS. Just keep walking. If you don't see him, move on to the next camp.

Found him at the two camps between 49.17.

It was weird...

first I killed him at the lower camp, and then I ran away from the guards, and he was at the next camp over.

It's a lower pop server, so that might have something to do with it.

found him in alterac mountains, in the valley north of strahnbrad, at coordinates 53,20.&nbsp he was surrounded by syndicates, but it wasn't hard to pull them off him individually.

He dies way faster than any other peeps in the field. The hardest part is to find where he is.

While a friend of mine earlier found him near Strahnbrad, I was not quite so lucky. I found him tucked away in the western-most Syndicate camp in The Uplands, surrounded by about six-seven others: archers, casters, and plain ol' axe-swingers. After two abortive attempts at whittling down his bodyguards (one death, one ignominous retreat) I settled on just picking off a few followers before focusing on him directly. Once I cleared out a quadrant of the camp, I sent my Voidwalker in to solo the Baron and then I laid on as much firepower on him as I can. He is a caster and does not have that much staying power. Lay the hurt on him fast and he'll be toast. Once he was down, I performed a "loot & scoot" and then abandoned my pet to the mercy of his guards as I ran.

I found him in the valley to the north, in one of the camps. Pretty easy kill. I was able to pull each one of his guards seperately and then take him on alone.

But be prepared to freeze him or stun him, he runs around alot T_T.

I found him behind the casks too.&nbsp Here's what I did to find him.&nbsp When I got to the ruins, I typed /target baron varnus.&nbsp When I was too far away, nothing happened.&nbsp But when I was closer, his icon appeared.&nbsp So, I knew he was around, and not in a camp.&nbsp I died while looking, so when I came back, I searched while in ghost form until I found him.&nbsp Fortunately, I died while in the Inn, which was where he was.&nbsp I was able to rez on the stairs going down to the basement, and no mobs agro-ed me there and I could rest.&nbsp The rest was not hard even tho I was a solo - Priest, lvl 37.&nbsp He was a 40, but not elite.

Solo'd lvl 39 druid... not hard really... just use cat form to find him... try the camps first.&nbsp Pick off the sentries, and sabs one by one... sometimes two.&nbsp

Like the quest notes say, he can also be found in the camps to the north of Strahnbrad. While there are usually around 10 mobs around each camp, they can be easily pulled. I was able to solo this at lvl38 with no problems at all.

was getting frustrated not finding him, then i did a /target baron something macro, and found him in the 4th village, closest to the lake(might have been 3rd, i was tierd). realised he was mage-type and that he had adds, so i pulled with multishot, (what? the adds are gonna come anyway) and nuked him, low hp. did it as 40 hunter. gained around 15-20 skills in herbalism while looking for him :) nice reward.

I just found him, in the camp south and nearest the city, killed him easely as 37 human rogue. (Poison on). Pull the other syndicate people, and it'll be over in no time!

This guy is such a pain to find.&nbsp You have to just rotate starting at the inn in Strahnbrad.&nbsp Go downstairs and clear the area. If he's there, good for you.&nbsp If not, go north outside of town and go into the valley.&nbsp There are 4 camps on the east side down the valley.&nbsp He can respawn at any of the 4.&nbsp So that's a total of 5 possible respawn points for the dude.&nbsp The nice thing is you can stand back at the camps and just snoop and see if he's there.&nbsp A total pain in the a$$ quest but 1G and I actually got good XP from it at level 42 (Warrior).

And you can pull each individual mob at the camps as well.&nbsp THe guy is only level 40 (non-elite).&nbsp Don't do this until you get a mount b/c the running around is torturous otherwise.&nbsp Also, just check in on this quest if you're in the area. You don't want to take a special trip up there looking for him.&nbsp Too much of a pain. Took me 2 weeks to find this dam guy.

Basically, go to Strahnbrad and check the basement of the inn.&nbsp If he's not there, go north and on the east side of the valley will be 4 camps.&nbsp You can pull each and every one of the baddies in the camps.&nbsp He'll be in one of those 5 places.&nbsp Annoying but you get 1G.&nbsp I'd suggest waiting until you've got a mount b/c you could be running around all day if someone else gets to him first and he respawns at a place you've already checked.

Oh, even at 42 I got some real nice XP for turning in the quest.&nbsp Not bad.&nbsp Just took me 2 weeks to find him.

solo'd at lvl 39 palidin retribution focus'd. got killed four times and found by time got back all had respawned. found him in the second camp, the sentry and guards were easy to pull away. the sabotuers nasty. ran in pulled 1 or 2 then ran away killed them out of site of baron. went in and attacked baron looted him the cast protection b4 running like mad. good xp when turned in though..
