A Husband's Revenge

Kill Valdred Moray.

Bring his hands to Raleigh Andrean in the Undercity.
Valdred's Hands

Description

Valdred, once my good friend, was my wife's murderer. Although I am incapable of grieving, I do yearn for revenge. If you kill Valdred and bring me his cursed hands, then I will reward you.

I last heard he was at the Greymane Wall in southern Silverpine, trying to flee into the kingdom of Gilneas.

Actually it's not a castle, it's the Gilneas Gate. lore has it that Gilneas sealed itself off from the rest of the world to prevent the Scourge from invading. it's hoped that someday Blizz will open the zone.

Valdred Moray wanders back in forth in front of the wall. If you are on the road facing the wall he will start in front of the "gate" then wander to the right towards a cluster of people. He will go back and forth between these two points constantly. The key is to get him in between, otherwise you will pull far more than intended.

My best advice is to pull him back to the road. There is a fence that lines the road here. Pull to where the fence ends. You will avoid getting beast type aggros from the back. If you pull Valdred at the right time he shouldn't bring any buddies. If it is one on one, anyone 18+ should be able to get him fairly easily.

Soloed as L17 Mage. The only problem was avoiding the Son of Arugal. He was in the area and I wasn't prepared for a 25 Elite so I hid from him. Otherwise, pull Raleigh and rip him a new one. No difficulty at all.

You can't actually go in the castle this guy is standing out in front of the castle. You're best to be level 18-22 to do this quest. It is relatively easy i you just single pull him.

Cords are 45.85
He is on the right side of the gate.

He is gaurded by a bunch of guys, and there are 2 wandering patrols I saw, they have torches and run really fast.

I was a lv 22 loc and kill him then died.

I suggest trying to pull the surrounding mobs first, otherwise you will probably die too.

Just killed him solo with my level 18 undead mage.&nbsp I picked off the solo stragglers in front of gates, avoided the camps, and waited until he was in between camps, near the gate itself.&nbsp It was very close, had 10 hp left at end of fight.&nbsp Doable, very tough, but doable at level 18.

Everytime I've attempted to do this quest I ended up getting jumped by Son of Arugol.&nbsp I think he has it in for me as he always seems to be in the area of Silverpine that I'm in and always jumps me.&nbsp As of right now I am a level 18 Rogue and I would probably be able to solo this quest by simply pulling Valdred with throwing knives but before I have a chance to I'm always picked off or chased off by Son of Arugol.&nbsp It sucks =/

As the quest mod says this is a lvl 20 quest. Valdred is around 44 84 he is hidden around the other humans. Go up the road to Gileanis (the road is on the way to Prywood and Shadow Fang Keep, and yes it is in Silverpine)he's on the right side in the tent as you look at the castle. If your a low lvl bring a friend! You gotta fight your way up to the tent. I hope this helps other noobs like me I died a lot finding this spot. If this helps send me 2 copper I'll take your two cents. Love BOLVINA&nbsp ?:O)

He is easy as long as you clear a few guy near the middle and then when he is out in the middle with no one near him pull him back to you with a spell or something. I did this with me as a lvl16 warlock with void out and my girlfriend as the same lvl 16 warlock with void out. The voids hold aggro and we as warlocks doted the crap outta him lol.

People arent being specific enough in the location of the 'wall' that he wanders in front of.
Its the Greymane Wall in the very south of the map. Not the walled embarkment by the main road. Head south on main road, then make a right towards Pyrewood. The road will fork again before the village and head south. You will pass some worgs and Moonrage and see a giant closed gate in the middle of a stone wall. Many humanoids 19-21ish around. Thats where he is. Hes wearing a lighter colored shirt than the rest.

This quest is yellow for my level 18 mage, but seems a little difficult to solo at that level. I was going to try it last night, but Moray is level 21 which makes him orange almost red to me. Also, he walks amongst a group of two or three other people who travel from one side of the gate to another, so you have to be very careful in single-pulling him. I don't know if an 18 mage can defeat a 21 NPC or not...especially if he stuns me, the way the other humans in this area do. Probably better to do this quest with a buddy.

I managed this as a lvl 17 warlock, pull mobs and then catch him as he walks between two of the tents. When it came to getting his hands he ran towards the main gate so the place was swimming with mobs, sacrifice voidwalker to get your shield then run in, loot all and run like hell out of there.

Was pretty easy with my 20 Priest. He walks around the entire wall. I killed the patrols and waited for him to go to a place with no adds. Didn't get a single add, and just Mind Soothed the passing humanoids when killing the rest.

I found him walking backwards and forwards beside that great big wall. I cast curse of agony on him when he was far from anyone else and started running away. I let my voidwalker distract him (although he resists torment most of the time). It was a very close battle and I was running around in circles most of the time and letting my DOTs do the rest. Healthstone and sacrificing the voidwalker saved my life. I guess that at such a low level (I did it on 16) the trick is to get him away from everyone else (it can be tricky because there's so many lvl 20s around).

actually, this was quite simple after i figured out what to do. lvl 18 undead warlock- went around and killed a few of the others around. once i went back and stood on the path, valdred came out and was running by himself. a few of the others ran passed him though. all i did was wait until they were far enough away from him, ran up and cast a spell to pull him towards me.

after that me and my void took him out

Do it just like Doofgodolac said Beware of the npc named son of arugal, and make sure to clean your way towards the fence... it's pretty good to make this quest at level 20-21, if you are a Warlock and you fight Alone.

I was able to pull him on his own as a 19 Mage as he was walking around and walked to the farthest right side of the castle.

He did run away and I got killed getting his hands, but I was able to kill him without any other aggro nonetheless.

I pulled this off solo with a level 17 warlock. Died twice getting the timing down of getting him alone, but all and all, not too tough.
