Down the Coast

Kill 10 Torn Fin Tidehunters and 10 Torn Fin Oracles for Lieutenant Farren Orinelle in Southshore.
  •
Torn Fin Tidehunter slain (10)
  •
Torn Fin Oracle slain (10)

Description

Transferred from the Stormwind city guard to Southshore, a town that should be abandoned by the looks of it... Smell of the harbor day and night.

Not to mention ol' Redpath... Wants me to take care of the murlocs. Ha!

I can barely rouse myself to go out to some of the pockets of the overgrown fish down the Western Strand. If you would go in my place and take care of them, I'd appreciate it.

If you are doing this quest alone and are around the same levels as the murlocs (especially if you're squishy), I suggest going into the water right off the shoreline. You can easily pull the murlocs in the water one at a time. The ones on the shore and at the camps will almost always come in at least pairs. I went the water route with my lvl 31 lock and had no problems.

If ur a Druid or Warlock (class w/underwater breathing) swim in the ocean and pick them off. I thought it was easier that linking 2-3 on land. I did this as a 31 Warlock died 2 times b4 I figured out to swim lol :P GL

and 10 Torn Fin Oracles (Levels 25 to 31). Torn Fin Oracles are white, and Torn Fin Tidehunters are the normal green and blue. Drops are bad for both.

Hint 1: Killing the ones in the water can be easier, exspecially for warlocks. The Torn Fin 's are spread out more, and if you need to run you can move deeper into the water without running into another. However, don't go too deep - you can't eat or drink anything whille swimming.

Hint 2: These can also cast on you, so don't get close! Pull one away from the others to kill it.

Hint 3: Watch out for their frost nova! It freezes you in place for approximently 6 seconds.

Hint 4: Stay closer to the dock, that way if you can't kill one, or have numorous targeted on you, you can run onto the docks and the guards will kill them. You won't get credit or experiance for the kills, but it's better than dieing.

3. Return to Lieutenant Farren Orinelle.

The suggestion to go in to the water and attack from there was definitely useful, thanks.. I tried along the shore and died a few times before reading this, and it really helped with my lvl 30 mage. Shouldnt be too difficult to complete like this.

you don't ...

i have been playing D&D for wayyy to long... and i have to admit this coords system pwns..

the quests are not always that good and the rewards do not justify spending a long time screwing around.. some people want to lvl faster.. and enjoy other quests..

don't knock what you don't like.. thats about as nubcakes as it gets..

This quest gives no reputation, only xp. From the entire series I only got 50 faction total (Stormwind) and they were yellow at the time.
