Please bear in mind that the position of this book changes.&nbsp It can spawn anywhere in the stromgarde (ogre-controlled) section.

I have seen this book many times, mostly when I didn't have the quest yet and sometimes when I was actually looking for it.

The most common (I'm not trying to imply here that this is the end-all, be-all of locations) is the top Tower of the ogres (usually spawns by the top chest or nearby) or in a fireplace.

I have seen it ALL over the place in fireplaces but the most common one is on the east side, 2nd level before you reach the tower.

If you are level 60 (and you probably really should be doing this quest line), you can probably have an easy time searching for the book with no aggro.&nbsp I practically stood on top of the ogres there and they didn't even notice me, so as long as you're somewhat careful you should be able to search in peace and ride out.

Is in the top of the building at Scholo, turning Right instead of going into the Instance.&nbsp head upstairs and there he is.....

You need to have equiped your Spectral Essence - Trinket in order to see him.

I then found the book in the Ogre fireplace as pictured above.&nbsp My friend needed the same item which then respawned in the top room of a house in the Sindicate region. And outside this house Marez Cowl loiters!

It can spawn in any of the fireplaces around Stromgarde Keep.

Co-ordinates won't help you any more than simply finding 'Stromgarde Keep' and searching for it.

It can be in plain sight, it can also be in the upper floors of the buildings.

By the sounds of it, it can also be on the floor of the tower.

It won't take more than 15 minutes to find, as a level 60, just aggro the minimum amount of things, search the visible ones on horseback then search the buildings you can enter on foot.

found book on the syndicate side

I found the book at 27,66 in Stromgarde Keep.

found it on the humanoid side, second level of the end house in the chimney

just been in every part of stromgarde over and over again, including the human side (i'm alliance) in case of a weird spawn location i can't find this thing

edit: of course, 2 min after posting i found it, such is the way things go =)

Found it at the inn, at 29,65, upstairs.

found it finally in the back corner of syndicate area. one of the one-storey houses south east of the keep/barracks.

Found it on top of Tower of Arathor.
Spawn loc is completely random.

Since 2.0 patch I cant loot the book, loot window is empty and it despawns, this happen to anyone else?

on the upper part by the keep, syndacite side.&nbsp If you go up the hill and make a left, in the back corner, there is a 2 story building.&nbsp I found mine in the 2nd floor bedroom in the fireplace.

For those of you unable to loot the book, double check to see if you're in a raid.&nbsp I've had fun trying to loot the one in the plaguelands for awhile, knowing I had the right book, but having it turn to dust on me.&nbsp Forgot I was in a raid.&nbsp So just double check.&nbsp =)&nbsp

This CAN spawn at the top of the Ogre tower.

I found it once on the ogre side and I forgot I was in a raid group and the book disappeared.&nbsp After looking for another 15 minutes I got frustrated and decided to check the places where I thought there is no chance it would be.

I just raced to the top of the tower and lo and behold there it is.&nbsp All the ogres chasing me gave up and I ended up only having to kill 2.

So if you cant find it the tower might be a good place to check.

Took about an hour of searching to find it but i found it. Was on the 2nd story of one of the buildings in the area with the Syndicate guys. Back room of the upstairs of the building.

My shammy friend found the book at the top of the ogre tower (on the floor) and then RIGHT after I found it in the bottom level Inn, upstairs, on the syndicate side. It reappears somewhere else after it is looted once. I would try it in that order, if you find it in the oger tower 1st.

I spent 2 hours searching for that damn book.. and i dont find it ... someone tell me whats happening?

you need complet a chain quest for get spectral essence for see ghost in cear darrow

after that you&nbsp go in castle of scholo at top and you will find a ghost that give you that quest =D

Okay, I finally found it at the top of the "inn-like" structure near in the syndicate portion of the keep.

I checked everywhere in the ogre place (even the top of the tower) and nothing.&nbsp If you are having trouble check the fireplace in the closed building on the syndicate side.&nbsp I almost missed it but it is on the second floor and to the left right as you pass the one of the doorways.

Ok... here is the method by which to get this quest:

1. As you approach the Scholomance entrance there are two ghosts outside, One has a quest

2. Doctor Theolen Krastinov, the Butcher - https://classicdb.ch/quest=5382
This involves kiling the butcher and collecting the remains of the two ghosts from around him (they are chunks of meat on the ground in his room).

3.Now the ghosts send you to kill the butcher's master, Jandice. she is in another section of Scholomance. Pick up the bag of horrors she drops and return it.

4. Returning the bag they give you Blood of Innocents Use this in the brazier resting on the viewing platform. Kill the gargoyle and return to the ghosts.

5. The ghosts reward you with a trinket that allows you to dee the ghosts of caer darrow. You MUST equip it to see the ghosts.
The ghosts of interest is the baker (just inside caer darrow to the right), the blacksmith (in the smithy) and the Magistrate.

6. The magistrate is in a large room above the scholomance instance (NOT IN THE INSTANCE) instead of going into the scholomance door, turn right. go up the wooden stairs and turn left. You should enter a large room. If you are wearing the trinket then there is a ghost there.

7. Take the trinket off... the ghost dissapears!

8. Put it back on, the ghost appears! what fun!

9. Talk to the ghost, he will have a few things to say, listen to them. When he is finished he gets a quest mark above him.

10. Talk to him again. Get the quest and celebrate... now do the chain.

As a side note: the baker is great cause he supplies food and drink, really useful if you got no mage because chillwind point doesnt have any.
The blacksmith has some alchemy recipies.

Found it first place I looked: Ogre side, the ruins of the house in the far north west corner, north of the tower, in front of the chimney. Bright red, can't miss it.

I found it at 29,62 in the house at the end of throad on the first level of syndicates upstairs in the fireplace.

ok .. the book does spawn in random fire place . on both thge ogre side and the human side ... i just found it on the human side same lvl as the keep in a building upstairs.. so it realy is just a case of checking the wholo of stormgrad and not just the ogre side... good luck and dont let it get u frustrated :P

Found mine on the second floor fireplace in the Prowler/Conjuror side of Stromgarde.

Just found mine, top of the ogre tower (Tower of Arathor 17, 69).&nbsp Just laying on the ground.

Checked every house and the main castle on the other side of Stromgarde.&nbsp I'm a rogue so figured I'd just check everywhere.&nbsp Covered 2/3 of the keep before I found it in the tower.

I found it in the Inn which Titan Panel lists as 29,62 - 2nd floor back room, in the fireplace. This is all the way in the back-left corner of Stomgard. I had to feign death to shake a bunch of aggro from the lvl 38-40 Elites who hang out here.

where in stromgarde, someone said its random but can someone give me exactly where they found it and we can build a list of potential spawn spots

20, 65 in a fireplace but i think that it spawns randomly so check all the fireplaces
