Unfinished Business

Enter Hearthglen and find a high vantage point from which you can see the town and gauge the Scarlet Crusade's forces, then return to Kirsta Deepshadow in Western Plaguelands.
  •
Overlook Hearthglen from a high vantage point

Description

What? Really? You want to know more? But you've already done so much for me, <name>. I couldn't possibly ask you to enter Hearthglen itself on my behalf.

Are you sure, <name>? Hearthglen is much more dangerous than the Pass--I cannot provide you any protection or even information about what you might face.

Well, if you really are willing to help, then enter the town and find a high place to gain a good view of the town. From there you can gauge their numbers and report them back to me. But be careful....

Interesting bit there... she mentions the name Elling before stopping herself, most likely referring to Elling Trias, a Master of Cheese and, more importantly, sensitive information in the Alliance. Elling has contacts all throughout both continents, and it would appear he has Kirsta checking in on the Scarlet Crusade.

If running cosmos like most people do these days, the tower is an open topped tower, like the one where one of the guys from the previous quest is found. The cosmos points are 45,19. You technically can run through the town, up the tower, jump off, wait to exit combat somewhere off the path, mount up, and leave. The quest gave me 6200 xp. I was lvl 56.

Warning, if you try to stealth in beware the Sentinals as they can see through it. This is only a problem on the way in, didnt see any more of them inside.

The tower you want is dead ahead, you need to circle around the back to get in though.
Just climb to the top of the tower, look across to the entrance and you'll get a quest complete message.

This is easy for locks. Simply get your vw out, ride left around the castle and as far into the tower as you can. When necessary sacrifice the vw, run to the top and the quest will be completed. Jump down from the tower and run back the way you came from, but not all the way to the entrance. The mobs following you will un-aggro if you haven't hit them. Now simply mount up and ride out.

Soloed in under two minutes at lvl 56.

For the Pallys... Hrose into the tower, if you're lucky you'll get a head start on the pallys chasing you, and flip on the devine shield as soon as you get your first nicks of damage - it should yget you to the top of the tower - run around and look out the tower towards the castle, (the yellow complete text will pop up) and jump off..&nbsp Use BoP as necessary..&nbsp not even a single heal required, nor a single guy killed.

The tower is the first tower, right after the gates.
Ride in, take left, go around the tower, ride in, vanish, walk up, jump down.

Completed!

Dont try to stealth past gates, the sentinels got high stealth detection.

Normally the tower is free of mobs except for the 2 paladins guarding the front, but there's a rare spawn called Scarlet Executioner that sometimes shows up. He's a 60 elite.

If your class can't kill him at your level, just bring him to the bottom of the tower, fear / root / CC / whatever him, then run to the top to get your quest credit. There are lots of ramps in the tower to jump off of to kite. You can also jump off the top of the tower itself to get away; it won't kill you as long as you're above 60% hp or so.

If you happened to be doing the chain quest Scarlet Subterfuge, you actually get a Scarlet disguise that lasts 30 minutes. Wear it and you can waltz around anywhere in Hearthglen, or any Scarlet camp, cuz they think you're friendly. I just walked right up to the top of the tower without being stopped, and still had enough time to finish both quests at once.

Are you a Priest? You can do this w/o killing anyone. As a 58 priest, I Mindsoothed the 2 Sentinels at the gates and ran thru them w/o aggro, then used my Gnomish Cloaking Device to invis past the Paladins at the tower (an invis potion would work fine). Cake.

If you're lucky, you'll find a rare spawn in the tower when you're doing this quest.

Scarlet Executioner. Level 60 elite rare spawn. If he's there, you'll have to fight your way past or stealth.

I solo'd this as a 57 Frost Mage.

It's the first tower you see when you enter the gates. You have to circle around to get to the entrance. When you enter the gates go to the left (the right leads to a lumberyard with lots of lvl55 non elites around it). A lvl61elite patrols the whole area so watch for him.

My step by step: Ice Barrier, mount up, get to entrance, auto un-mount at tower, ice barrier again, use water elemental to draw one of the guards off, frost nova the other on the way up the stairs, circle the top untill it says complete, slow fall down to the top of the wall in front. I lost aggro after a few seconds, topped off health and mana, and slow fell down to the ground in front of the 2 guards at the gate. After a brief chase I was free.

Total time: ~7minutes (had to wait for the 61elite to leave).

Once you finish the quest chain that ends up with escorting the Highlord, you may grant yourself easy access inside hearthglen by talking to the gnome Hag in Uther's Tomb. You'll be tranformed into a member of the scarlet crusader for half an hour, making the mobs there friendly. awesome, isn't it? =]

The objective of this quest is to run into Hearthglen and to the tower at 47,19. Go up to the top of teh tower and look off the north side.

To get there you can either fight or run past 2 56 Elites at the gates. These are easy to fight because you can pull one at a time so I advise to fight them because you will avoid running into other elites trying to shake them off.

Run up the right path avoiding enemies. Then run around the lumber mill and into the tower. Two Paladins will be there to greet you, Priests can Mind Control one, take the other out and then fight the one left or Rogues can use sap. Which is pretty obvious.
For other classes just run past them and shield or fear them off, run up the tower and look off the north side, jump off the north side and run out.

These Elites are pushovers so it should be easy for anyone to take them on.

Do this quest in line with the quest from Fording in EPL...When he sends you to talk to the gnome by the graves near Chillwind camp. She will cast a spell that disguises you as a Scarlet. Just walk into town, up the tower til you get Quest complete dialogue. Continue onto the caqstle to finish Fordring line....Easy as pie..no fighting...no dying no damage nothing....just exp and money....

Went in by horse, eventually lost all aggro and came out of combat. Went inside the wrong tower at first (just go to the left and up once you're inside and you should find it, gray "guard tower". Stealthed and made it past the two elite guards without being noticed... went up the tower, got the "yellow text", stealthed back down, went out by horse... piece of cake :)

Did this as a 53 Priest, I ran in on my mount and the two guards at the gate dismounted me so I put up a shield and ran left and then turned right towards the entrance of the tower, kept replaceing the shield and ran to the top of the tower also fearing some guys occasionally, made it to the top and looked around until i got a "complete", then used levitate down the tower and ran out. gg

This must've been made easier or something...

I checked out the notes here before doing the quest, because I have horrible memories of Hearthglen being a big pain in the you-know-what long ago when I had another character doing these quests.

I went into the front gates of Hearthglen... I was able to pull the two guards in front of the main gates one at a time, and they were level 54s. I went in, pulled one Scarlet Priest that was level 57, and then traveled around the left side of the tower as instructed. At the entrance to the tower were 2 Scarlet Paladins... both level 56. They were able to be pulled one at a time, so this was cake. I went in, and there were no mobs inside the tower at all. I don't know if I lucked out somehow, but the place was empty. I ran upstairs, ran around the top, got the quest complete note, and then ran back out the same way I came in. Just watch for High Protector Lorik, a 61 elite, that paths along the road there on that side of the tower. He doesn't come around to the back of the tower, though, so just let him go down the other little road before you try to pass him, just in case.

Easy as pie.

Here's what you do (as rogue). Get to the gates, go to the right side (Near that big Crossbow machine thing, take out the guard there, take out the right guard (at the gate), than you have enough room to stealth by the left gate guard, stealth up that first tower, and to the top (You can stay in stealth and complete the quest). The guys inside did not seem to detect my stealth, but just to be safe use distract, The higher level you are the better. I've Tried and tested this method it works for me. I should tell you though I am mainly a combatt rogue so taking out the elites (55+) is a little easier than for an assassin. Good luck :)

Oh and btw, watch out for the level 60 elite pats

This is soloable by basicly anyone that can kill a 55 elite on their own. I did it easily as a holy spec 60 priest in mostly greens. Basicly you just have to kill one gaurd at the entrance of Hearthglen. Past the entrance turn left and follow the path to the tower entrance -- there are 2 more 55 elite gaurds there. They can each be pulled on their own. I only bothered to kill one of them (I just let the other chase me up the tower). Run to the top of the tower and around it (you get the quest complete message), drop down the stairwell (key to gaining distance on the gaurds) and as soon you run out of the tower not too far you will be out of combat and you can just walk/run/mount back out of Hearthglen.

Soloed this as a 57 hunter. Once you get to the tower, pull one guard at a time and kill them. You should only need to kill two of them. Run to the top, run around to complete, and here's where the fun starts. Drink a bunch of Noggenfogger Elixir until you get the buff that makes you float. Then Aspect of the Cheetah, do a running jump off the tower, and float to safety. Once you land, Feign Death, jump up, mount up, and turn in.

Quite simple really. Enjoy!

If you are a rogue, just sprint past everyone at the gate, then by the time you are at the entrance you can just stealth normal as you will fade out of combat. On the way out can can do the same thing. You don't even have to use any vanishing powder.
