This was pretty hard to solo as a 57 rogue. Once you get up to the crossed shaped house which has the book in it, you'll notice 3 patrolling guards, and 2 outside of the cross shaped house. Note the tree to the right of the + shaped house, go towards the tree and pull 1 guard guarding the entrance, kill, and do the same for the other. Wait until (or stealth if you are a rogue)the 3 patrolling guards pass, when they do, walk on the right rail to go on the ledge of the house. Put on walk by hitting "/" on the numerical key side of your keyboard, and walk down the ledge, staying along the wall. While doing this, hover over the wall until you either see the 2 guards (they will be 60) or if your cursor goes over the book. Once you&nbsp find the book, walk into the green ledge, you'll automatically get up on it, right click, and there ya go! You've got it! Don't try to attempting getting it from inside the house... I've tried so many times to do so, but these guys respawn so fast. Ended up with a 3g armor repair doing it that way, and still didn't get it until I hovered the wall outside :)

The wall "trick" seems to have been fixed in 2.1. Doesn't work for me, at least.

The registry was on a bench in the south wing of the lodge guarded by two level 60 Quel'Lithien Protectors.

Registry is in the building right wing. The guards are called Quel'Lithien Protectors so they can't be mistaken. There are two of them guarding the registry&nbsp on top of a bench.

Entrance of camp is at 51,24.

Btw the Protectors have short respawn timer

You can grab the registry from outside the building. Jump up on the ledge of the western wing, and search the wall left of the center with your mouse for the action-wheel. The elves are rather annoying, so this is the best way to solo this one. Good luck!

It's safe to read the register if you want to.&nbsp It just tells some background about Nathanos.

Just face the door.. Go to the right hall which your mouse look for the regist and do the loot for out side of the house.. Easy )

tried to loot the register through the wall today, did not have luck with that ~ so I just solo'd the 2 60 guards ... took a sec to clear the path but sapped one and worked them over -easy that way

something wierd: theese guys have a very high aggro range and I pulled them with only my Hunter's mark so be careful... happy hunting

Hunters, just set your pet on ag and run for the book, youll have plenty of time. As previously said, its your first right after coming in. I died after, but hey, got the book. Going back for the kills now. Good luck all.

As of Tuesday, June 27th 2006, Patch 1.11 the wall trick is still firmly in place.

As a 57 warrior, i died my way in, got into position on the edge (you cannot be standing on the ground, you have to get up on the edge from the little hill next to the building) and rezzed, and looted the book, no hassle at all.

where do u hand in the quest after completeing it?

The lodge is up north, in about the top-middle of the map. If you go all the way up the N road you go through a portal into the Ghostlands, so you have to go off the road to the left and either hump it over the hills to get to the lodge from the right side (facing the lodge), or go up the path to the left side. The left side necessitates killing more guards, but you have to kill them anyway for the quest. Be careful for a patrol of 3 guards in back who use a circular patrol route (just like in the classic western "For A Few Dollars More"). There is a similar patrol inside the lodge. Good luck!

Book is guarded by two Quel'Lithien Protectors. They hit hard, they hit fast, they will attack from range, and they will interrupt your spells. In addition, the lodge and its surrounding area is packed very tightly with elves; inside the lodge there is a two-elf patrol that pats to the two protectors and the book.

It gets even better. You must kill both Protectors; if you only kill one and die it will respawn immediately. In addition, the respawn rate of the other mobs in the area is so fast that you get ONE shot before you have to reclear everything you worked so hard and carefully to clear before. Because the mobs are so dense here, you have no escape either. If you mess up, you die and start over.

PS. The book is not lootable through the wall anymore.

As a 57 Demo Lock, I am really hating this Q. The respawn is way to fast to easily solo this Q

If you're a priest and you're having trouble getting the book through the wall, use Mind Vision on one of the Protectors as you're standing just outside against the wall (you can use the Tab key to target them).&nbsp Assuming you're close enough to the book, you should be able to click on it and grab it while using Mind Vision.&nbsp

I wasn't able to get the gear to pop up for me through the wall until I did this.&nbsp

killed everything up the path... leave the 4 man patrol alone at the top. kill the two rangers, 60/59 and grab it through the wall. run like hell.

Yep, found it also in the west wing of the building. Soloed it as 59 hunter, but you have to move fast as the mobs respawn quickly. I also snuck around the back by the eastern wing, used the pet to pull the two stationary guards out, dealt with them and went back for the roving pair of elves. The rest was easy.

You have to do his other 2 quests as well before you can move on to Duskwing...

Very frustrating quest for me on my druid. Although some of the mobs here are as low as 56, the two protectors whom you can't avoid are 60. And if you can't CC one, they will tear you apart if you aren't of the appropriate level. I spent a half hour or so on this quest before giving up, first at 56 and then at 57. It took me a long time to get a decent pull on the 60 guards since I was trying to be stealthy, and even when I got one I just couldn't kill them... I had already used all my consumables, of course.

So although it's tempting, I would really recommend against trying this quest before level 58 if you don't have a reliable form of CC you can use.

The protectors alone resist Drain Life nonstop. Those pats make it so annoying. I recommend NOT doing this at 56.

WELL as a rogue EASY sapped on of the protectors and got 5 combos on other cheap shotted him and took the thing under his nose then vanished BEST WAY to do it these days

Just a warning to all rogues/druids, as of 2.3.3 at least, they seem to completely ignore stealth, without showing the Blue Eye. Stealthed behind one for sap he turned before I could try to sap and they are all green to me. And no, i did not run into it, this has been happening the entire time.

WHAT AN UNLUCKY QUEST !!! I'm trying this quest from an hour and still can't manage to solo it. Die 5-6 times from two mobs who protect the registry (60lvl).... except this there has two 60 lvl patrol mobs :) When you kill the protectors they automaticly respawn in the same time :) If you don't like difficult quest this definitely is not your one ... have fun :)

this quest is realy a pain... but i managed to do it as a 56 fure mage... almost.. when i was in the house and near the book a 70 priest runed by and help me .. :)

impressive dec 4 06 the through the wall trick still works. just press v to find the mobs in the west wing, stand outside the wall and get the book. trying to solo in the building is suiside for a lone warrior

Soloed this as a lvl 59 warrior. Something about those elves that make them wana dodge me a lot, which helped. But more than that, this place is great practice for pulling...no one runs, only one ranged mob(good for LOS pulls) in 4 types in area, and they have steady patrols. Walk in the front door and whatch for a sec, then kill them all...damn elves...

i guy cleaned all befor me and wen i was killing a mob 4 resawned near and ataked me :( i died :'( lol

Found it in the west wing, guarded by the two static spawned protectors. They pop quickly, so don't hang around after you pick it up.

Solo'd as a 58 rogue. The elves have killer stealth detection, though.

I finished this quest but was not given the option for the two follow-on quests. Is there another prereq to get the next quests? Do I need to finish all of Nathanos original quests to get the next ones? There is an early quest to kill noxious plaguebats from him that I didn't do. Would I need to finish that first in order to get the Duskwing and Corpulent quests?
