Duskwing, Oh How I Hate Thee...

Find Duskwing and slay him. From the corpse, recover a Patch of Duskwing's Fur and return it to Nathanos Blightcaller.

It is said that Duskwing roams the countryside to the north of Marris Stead.
Patch of Duskwing's Fur

Description

Up until now, you have completed the missions I have assigned; even if not in the most timely manner.

I suppose you think that you are ready for a challenge. Yes... Yes, imbecile, perhaps you are ready for a more involved set of missions.

The albino demon bat, Duskwing, roams the countryside just north of here. Track him down and destroy him. Return to me with a patch of his white fur and you shall be rewarded.

im a lvl 60 hunter, easy solo'd this no problem at all, just simple kite, kept a serpent sting on him and used concusive shot and got a few auto shots on him, had him down by the bridge heading into the western plaguelands.

oh and all this rubbish about him having a ranged attack isnt true, he got close enough for me to get a scatter shot on him. although he does have a AoE attack that hits anything within distance of him, my pet took a few K damage from this.

As of 2.3 Duskwing is now non-elite. very easily solo'd now.
And as far as i know he wanders west to east and back north of Crown Guard Tower.

Duskwing himself has about 4.5k health and does a 5 second AoE silence.

Nathanos doesn't have this quest listed for me.
is there a PreReq I missed? I did the quest at the Elven Lodge, which I read somewhere would open up this quest. But it isn't listing. Any advice?

Duskwing casts an AoE Silence, centered on himself, with an 8 second duration.&nbsp So if you like casting spells don't stand near him.

57 hunter, tried this twice, both times i got him well into WPL and around 60% just to have him go evade. throughout the kiting process i did my best to stay right on the cusp of max distance... you just can't risk getting any closer to him for fear of getting dazed while in Cheetah.

i suppose i'll have to wait for help with this one.

I've seen the bat north of the Crown Guard Tower, around 40, 70.
Hope it helps.

A simple kite can tackle Duskwing.&nbsp Turn your pet's taunt off, tag him with an aimed shot, slap a serpent sting on him and high-tail it out of there.&nbsp Clear a path to the road, if you have to, or do what I did and wait until he passes near the Marris Stead.

Whichever way you do it, drag him to the road and make sure you keep a serpent sting on him whenever it wears off.&nbsp STAY AT THE EDGE OF YOUR BOW/GUN RANGE!&nbsp Don't let him get close to you, he's got a wicked attack that'll do 600-1200 damage, totally ruining your day.&nbsp

Use a conc shot if he gets too close for comfort and you shouldn't have any problems.&nbsp Just be sure to maintain the aggro on yourself - don't let your pet steal it.&nbsp A distracting shot now and then helps this along.

It took me halfway through WPL before he finally dropped, but it was a breeze.&nbsp Good hunting!

I found him just east of the quest giver. If you wait there, he will come around. He has a route that he goes and the round trip is about 5 min.
Me (59) hunter and 60 rogue and warrior killed it in less than 20 sec...easy kill with rigth people.

As a 59 hunter with a 60 priest, we did it no problems. Set the dog on the bat to tank, the priest kept healing the pet and I kept firing away from a safe distance. Dropped everything he should have, I just wish Goregalore, the pet swallower was just as easy.

Duskwing tends to patrol from North-East to East of Nathanos Blightcaller. Be sure to clear out any nearby enemies before tackling him.

Did this easily with a 5 man group: Two warriors (60, 57), Priest (57), Mage (56) and Hunter (59). Borelgore puts up a much greater fight.

Soloed as a 58 Hunter, even with the instant cast spell. Just stay at maximum range and you shouldn't get stunned at all.

His silence lasts 10 seconds, and he may very well do it back to back and keep you silenced, as he did with me. Mana classes beware.

I finished the "The Ranger Lord's Behest" quest and returned to Nathanos but he did not give me any option for the next quest. I noticed that there was another quest available to kill bats in the area. This quest is not listed under Nathanos. Do I need to finish more than just "The Ranger Lord's Behest" to get this quest?

A random warlock or a hunter should be able to solo it also, same with the huge worm from the other quest he gives.
