The Corpulent One

Find Borelgore in the northern wastes of Eastern Plaguelands and destroy him. Return to Nathanos Blightcaller when the mission is complete.
  •
Borelgore slain

Description

Past the Argent Dawn encampment of Light's Hope and west of Northdale, you will find the corpulent maggot beast, Borelgore.

I've lost entire regiments to that monster. His size knows no bounds! The more he eats the greater his girth becomes...

While I would not suffer any emotional harm should the beast devour you, I would prefer that you were the victor. Borelgore has been known to devour others who tried to hunt him.

As of 2.3 Borelgore is now non-elite, He has about 6,6k health and does hit quite hard still, Solo-able but make sure you have the area around him clear, wouldnt want to pull anything else. He wanders along from 53,31 to 62,32 and back.
Done as a 57 feral druid in cat form no problems.
Watch out for the dogs, they have a annoying habbit of running your way just as you pull him :p

As a feral druid I was able to solo this at 63, but it took nearly 15 minutes. It has one hell of a lot of health and hurts if you get close. I just kept using entangling roots, moonfire and starfire and *eventually* it died.

It's easy to find there is a long fairly thin valley near the north tower running east to west, he will be in that valley somewhere.

I suggest you clear the surrounding mobs (bats and hounds) before you take it on.

Not too hard to solo as a hunter. I kited him along the road by keeping Serpent Sting on him and by auto-shotting him every time he stopped to do his AOE poison. I kited him all the way to Western Plaugelands, then turned him around and continued back through Eastern Plaugelands. Took about 10 minutes to take him down.

This is the first MOB me and my other hunter friend have not been able to do since level 50.

The big, fat blob simply swallows pets whole and then comes after us. This is going to require another person to either heal, or hold the damn thing in place.

A warlock (60) and I (59 shadow priest) tried to take him on ourselves.

He has 100k+ hp.

If you're a priest or warlock, this is especially easy. Just DoT him and run aroudn the gorge. make sure to avoid the extra creatures, this guy moves so slow that you can just keep running in circles around the gorge. Don't even need to heal, although this takes forever and you MAY get ganked by alliance.

Decently geared warlocks with MD can solo. Use a VW regen and lifetap when mana is needed, never let fear fall and he'll never get close enough to hurt. Takes forever, even with +300 to spell dmg.

Just took him down after a good 20 minute battle with a warrior, druid, and priest, all 60s. I (warrior) died once but the druid was able to sleep him enough to let them regain mana. I was able to hold aggro while they healed and we picked away at him.

solod with a blue geared mage. He is very slow, so easy to kite. But he is very tough and has a nasty poison attack soit was a hard fight.(lucky he doesn't use his poison attack very often).

Did it with 3 hunters, rogue and priest, levels 55-60. He hits hard, but moves slowly. Everyone died at least once, but had time to get back from the graveyard and rez before a wipe occured.

59 Warlock Demonologist (0-32-18)

Engaged him at 6:12, killed him at 6:25. My cosmos estimated his HP at 45,000. He seemed like a pushover except for the HP initially, cuz he was fearable, but I got lazy around 75% and let him get into melee range. It's so far up the combat log I can't get to it anymore but I think the hits were in the 600 range. He poisons you for 1000 dmg over 30 seconds as well. He also casts an AE that does 650 dmg. Barely survived when he got into melee range so re-applied fear and FD summoned a new pet, (Voidwalker so I could sac in case it happened again). You need high spirit or first aid to finish this fight tho, cuz you'll run oom otherwise. Just keep him feared and conserve mana and you'll do fine. No other mobs assist him.

peace.

Took him out with a 5 man group:

1 warrior(60), 1 hunter(60), 1 rogue (58), 1 druid(58), and myself a shaman(59). We hardly broke a sweat and he went down in about 2-3 mins. All you need is a good tank and someone to heal him. Oh and a shaman to lay a poison cleansing totem would be nice since he seems to AOE poison attacks every 15 seconds or so.

Duskwing was much harder with his silence AOE. Make sure you keep your healer away from the battle so he doesn't get silenced against Duskwing.

Im a 59 Hunter, myself, a 60 priest, and 60 rouge got him down to about 1/3 health and then he took out my pet, followed by the rouge. I managed to keep the priest alive until the rouge got back to his body, but it was futile. The priest died, then the rouge. I tried to kite him around until they got back to thier bodies but this guy hits hard. I had to FD. Gonna try again with a full party.

57,31 as shown at the monster location for Borelgore. He passes by that trench and crosses the road he just runs back and forth. It's a tough fight even for a 61 war, asked a 66 hunter to help out and even his pet got wailed on.

My advise get a healer if your doing this at 60. Almost 40k hp++ and hits hard with that AOE dmg etc.

61 elite.

at about (57,31), there's an intersection of sorts, between a road and a ditch. the worm follows the ditch, over the road. 63 shammie, really easy, duel wield wind fury, and searing totem. done in less than 30secs....and yeah, he has poison that i took care of in mid swing...
