Facing Negolash

Bring 10 Barbecued Buzzard Wings and 5 bottles of Junglevine Wine to Captain Smotts' Lifeboat.

Kill Negolash, and bring Smotts' Cutlass to Captain Smotts in Stranglethorn.
Smotts' Cutlass

Description

Negolash is a hungry giant.

When the giants destroyed our ship, Negolash went straight for my kitchen. He wasn't hungry for crew like the other giants. Negolash wanted wine...and my Barbecued Buzzard Wings. They're my specialty, and I had to go all the way to the Badlands for the recipe!

If you want to lure the giant, then get some wine and a heap of buzzard wings. Put them in our old lifeboat, southeast of here along the coast. When Negolash smells all that food, he'll come for sure!

the wine is purchased from the goblin behind the bar at the inn of booty bay.

the barbequed buzzard wings can be purchased on the major city auction house - good luck finding it on the booty bay auction house. they can also be cooked using buzzard wings that drop from nearly every kind of flying bird lvl 30+

Got the wings from birds in Blasted Lands took about 10 minutes, the wine is at the bar in the inn @ BB, liferaft is right where it's shown on the map.&nbsp Clicked on the liferaft completed the quest putting the food down and up popped Negolash lvl 52 elite.

I did this quest as a 41 druid with a 41 hunter. I went out and got the mats needed:
Farmed the buzzards for 45 minutes, and bought the wine at the inn.
Like my hunter friend and I had done before we just kited the boss's back to the entrance of Booty Bay. We did this quest (after all the mats) with 15 minute s left till server shut down, and finished it with 4 minutes to go.

The easiest way we found to do it, have anyone in the group put the mats in the boat. Have someone mounted or have the entire pathway to Booty Bay entrance cleared. Have the hunter lead off with a Concusion shot and have him haul ass to Booty Bay. As I'm sure some of you have mistakenly done, the Guards use nets to grapple people in the city. Once the Giant gets close to the entrance, the guards become friendly and the net the giant. This particular giant killed the first guard and brought the second one to half health. Just make sure the two of you (or however many in the party) is doing as much damage as you can, the guard will hold agro. My friend and I finished this at 41 and were awarded 7100 xp, the trinket. Worth doing if you have a hunter/friend whos a hunter.

The lifeboat is on the Wild Shore, east of Booty Bay. Coming out of the BB tunnel, take a right and head down towards the beach. Go South a little, and you'll find "Ruined Lifeboat" on a peak of the beach sticking out towards the Bloodsail boats. The boat is under some palm trees.

Note: It's not the first clump of palm trees you see by the water there's a second clump slightly south.

This quest works fine i don't know why everyone seems to be having trouble. put the stuff in the boat, wait, then he comes. the boat is on a small jetti east of booty bay. go over towards the buccaneers and hug the coast can't miss it. he's a 52 elite lots of health but not to hard to down.

The prereq. for this quest is The Monogrammed Sash which starts by killing Mok'rash . He spawns on the little island just west of Booty Bay, but I think he's a rare spawn. You'll hear him yelling now and then if he's there. By killing him, you can loot the Monogrammed Sash which starts the quest.

Take the sash to the captain and he'll tell you how you can lure Negolash. Make 10 of those Barbecued Buzzard Wings and buy 5 bottles of Junglevine Wine from the goblin behind the bar at the inn. Then go to the boat (location below) and lure the big guy (he comes out of the sea).

Only one member of the party needs the stuff to lure him, everyone can loot Smotts' Cutlass afterwards.

I did it with a lvl 55 hunter, 49 warlock and me 51 priest. Easy :)

The quest says you need 10 Barbequed Buzzard Wings, which have to be made by cooking them.. Here's the quest for the recipe http://classicdb.ch/?quest=703. The drop rate in that area sucks though... IF your capable I would suggest Farming Fire Rocs or regular Rocs in Tanaris, as the drop rate is much better. Try around 45,40. I killed 33 of which 12 dropped, thats about 35.5%

The tough part of this quest is getting the barbecued wings. First, you need to kill about 30 buzzards in south-eastern Badlands for the raw wings. Then you need about 180 cooking skill to prepare them.

The giant himself is not really tough for two 50+ chars, although he'll be nasty for solo...

The quest reward is a trinket which isn't that useful.

Quest wasn't that hard. I got the buzzard wings out in the Badlands. Cooked them myself and then bought the Junglevine wine from the bar on the bottome floor of the Booty Bay inn. The boat is next to a palm tree. Take a right on the beach and head towards the Bloodsail boats. Its next to the water. When you put the food and wine in the boat Negolash walks up out of the water. He is a 52 elite. I killed him with a group of 3 hunters. Me a 54 a 44 and a 45. No problem killing him. Hope this helps. ~Later~ Jacksheart

Kill Negolash, and bring Smotts' Cutlass to Captain Smotts in Stranglethorn

Rewards
You will receive: Smotts' Compass

Buzzard wings can be farmed in desolace badlands arathi etc. The barbequed buzzard wings recipie is available in badlands as a "Barbecued Buzzard Wings" quest reward from Rigglefuzz in the Valley of Fangs. You turn in 4 buzzard wings to Rigglefuzz and he gives you two barbecued buzzard wings and the recipie: barbecued buzzard wings. One buzzard wing and one hot spices combine with cooking skill of about 220 to produce one barbecued buzzard wing.

The junglevine wine is available from Nixxrax Fillamug <Food and Drink Vendor> 27, 77 behind the counter in the Salty Sailor Tavern in the town of Booty Bay. The junglevine wine costs 3 silver each.

The hot spices for the barbecued buzzard wings recipie come from Kelsey Yance <Cook> 28, 74 at the Good Food stand within The Old Port Authority Building within Booty Bay just under the stairs out to Stranglethorn Bay. The hot spices cost 40 c each.

You can cook the wings in the Salty Sailor Tavern there is a Stove behind the counter right next to Fillamug.

The Junglevine Wine is bought from Nixxrax Fillamug <Food and Drink> in Booty Bay (loc 27,77) for 3s per bottle.

The Recipe for Barbecued Buzzard Wings can be quested for in Badlands, or bought for a few silver in Arathi Highlands;
Alliance merchant is Narj Deepslice <Butcher> at Refuge Pointe.
Horde merchant is Slagg <Superior Butcher> at Hammerfall.

The recipe takes 1x Buzzard Wing and 1x Hot Spices and creates 1x Barbecued Buzzard Wing, so at best you only need to grab 10 Wings to have what you need to cook.

From the maps of where Negolash's been killed it is that smashed up boat on the coast.&nbsp I couldn't get anything to activate anywhere, so I thought I should stand on the boat and right click the wings and somehow they'd activate with the boat, but instead my character ate one of the ten wings and now I have to go back to Gadgetzan of all places to kill one more buzzard to send one more set of wings to my friend who did cooking... this is a pain!&nbsp Since the comments about the quest being broken are recent I'm going to assume the quest is still broken.&nbsp Today is February 27th, 2006.&nbsp Please fix this Blizzard!

You buy the wine from a goblin on the bottom floor of the inn. You can't see him if you walk up because he's short and the counter is a bit taller than him, so adjust your camera angle.

Went back to the boat worked fine. He'll come up out of the water from the North really slow so don't be worried about being jumped. 48 mage hellscream was cake with 60 rogue friend.
