As you have no doubt ascertained by now, Lady Prestor is Onyxia: Brood of Deathwing, twin to the tyrant of the Spire, Nefarian.

For too long she has held our kingdom in her captivating gaze. Even the Highlord is controlled by her trickery - a puppet. It all ends today... The spell will be broken.

This quest is marked as a raid however, it can easily be soloed if you desire and don't have the time to do it with a group of friends. Bolvar does all of the fighting, so just stand back away from him and the dragons. Take some bandages, a healthstone, or health potion just in case one of the dragons hits you. If you have a ranged attack you may use it to "tag" the kills and gain XP if you're not already 60.

As a side note: Windsor is not attacked as you escort him to SW Keep.

It might help to use guild or SW City chat to find out what state the Keep is in BEFORE accepting this quest. Make sure Lady Prestor is there (and human), the Highlord is at her side (and not in Attack Stance), and the boy-king is there with his usual blank stare.

When you go to find Marshal Windsor, also make sure the General is there on horseback, and there are NO kneeling guards to be seen.

Not sure whether it makes any difference, but you might also want to ensure that ALL members of the group are actually on the quest.

I'm guessing that if this is the case, you should be able to complete the quest without a hitch.

BACKGROUND
After having Ony freeze as a dragon (and her guards freeze as SW guards) on our first attempt, we all abandonned this quest and met Marshal again. Half of us finished a few days ago on our second attempt. I just watched the other half FAIL the first time, but complete it on their THIRD try. Here's what happened for these last two runs:

We walked all the way through the city and arrived in the Keep, only to find that Lady Prestor was GONE, as were her guards, and the Highlord was standing around in his Battle Stance. Marshal had nobody to talk with... no dragon to conjure... and nothing changed for several minutes... so they were forced to abandon yet-again, and walk through town for their third time.

But this time I stayed in the Keep (I had completed the quest, so I was not in the group), and used guild chat to let the others know when Lady Prestor re-spawned and the entire Keep had reset to normal. They made sure to wait until I gave the Say So before accepting the quest. And it worked!

My theory is that this bug has something to do with others being on the quest at "almost" the same time.

In the failed attempt I described above, someone had obviously just failed this quest, leaving the Keep in a very weird "half-spawned" state.

And in retrospect, I do remember seeing the guards kneeling at the city entrance a few minutes prior to our very first failed attempt that time we waited until the General showed back up on horseback before running to get Marshal (and the quest), but maybe that wasn't long enough..? Maybe there was still another group in the Keep at that time..?

Can anyone out there please test my theory and provide some results here? It'd sure be nice to have a workaround for this one!

Its a long chain of quest you need to Start with "Cragonkin Menence" and after that you need a random "This item begins a quest"-item.

Alright if your an idiot like me, you've done something to fail the quest, I'm special and actually failed it twice so far.&nbsp (somewhat intentionally if anyone's a skinner soloing this, you know why)

I havn't been able to time to the respawn on Windsor yet, does anyone know?&nbsp I had someone else get the the quest for the first time, and it spawned Windsor, that's how I was able to fail for the second time.

I'm parked outside SW, waiting for that slowpoke to respawn, I'll post any info if I get him to pop up.

&nbsp &nbsp This quest starts at Morgin's Vigil in The Burning Stepps as a quest were you must kill a bunch of dragons.&nbsp After this comes multiple messenger quests with Morgans Vigli, Lakeshire, and Stormwind.&nbsp After these you will be asked to find Ragged John.&nbsp He can be found at the Horde FP in The Burning Stepps(dont worry the flight master doesnt attack). You must then do his quest and then you will get a quest for Black Rock Depths where you must find Marshal Windsor.&nbsp Once you find him you will recieve the Jail Break Quest, and once you complete it, you will get this quest.&nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp &nbsp I hope this clears up how to get this quest&nbsp Good Luck to those who try this quest, it certainly is very long.

Okay, I failed because she was already dead when I turned up to fight her with the guy.

I abondoned the failed quest, and went back to entrance. We broke the raid group, and re-invited. And he rode up again (although it took him about 10 minutes).

You have to walk him all the way through Stormwind again (gutter). But you can repeat the quest if you DC'ed during the fight or picked a bad time to start it.

Just, don't do it. It is hard now, but wait. It big bug so we can't do anything about it. Just , leave bug to the GM's, they're going to working with it, so, that's enough. Do something else for couple of days, go farm gold for epic mount or go and play AV till exhalted. The quest ain't working now, that's for sure.

I did not have to wait on Windsor at all. I failed the quest (don't stand too close to the fight b/c the dragon kin cleave, that is what killed me) and all i had to do was abandon the quest and talk to Squire Rowe at the gate intrance into Stormwind. He will signal Windsor and I waited maybe 30 seconds and he came riding up on his horse.

i am so confused, i escorted marshal windsor to stormwind keep then lady prestor transformed to lady onyxia, but no ones fighting.... =( do i need anything at all for quest to work? pls help me

Okay,
I followed a friend of mine who was doing the quest into the Keep. Everything worked fine for him. I whatched every bit of it. Then I did the quest, escorted Windsor, and after Prestor turned into Onyxia, the event froze. Suddenly, after about 20 minutes, I logged off. When I relogged the next day, everything was back to normal, but I was able to talk to Bolvar about the quest, and I couldn't hit the "complete quest" button. I abandoned the quest, and waited at the gates of Stormwind for Windsor. After 10 minutes, nothing, so I flew to the Burning Steppes. Nothing. What do I have to do now?

I failed the quest due to getting too close.&nbsp However, I abandoned the quest, waited by the Stormwind City gates, and sure enough Windsor respawned.&nbsp YMMV

I walked with him to the keep and they started talking.&nbsp Then lady prestor dissappeared i waited and nothing then she respawned as lady prestor and i had failed! Could it have something to do with someone turning in Ony head as i was trying to do it? Not sure but either way it sucked.

Edit: what if i was in stealth when they were talking? does it matter?

So I went to SW and found Windsor, we walked through the town, up to the keep. Saw some people, said hi, everything was good. We get there, he starts taunting ony, she goes all dragon form on him, then- Nothing. They sit stil for ten minutes and then I fail the quest. AS of now there is no way to do this.

Although I have not done this quest yet. I am seeing many people having difficulty due to this bug. If you watch the post date of the messages here, it is obivious that the quest hasnt been fixed and has not for some time.

I suggest everyone should wait a week. It takes time to fix bugs. With 1.11, Blizz will be concentrating on the many bugs that came with it, so they obviously will fix these bugs first before paying attention to the old ones.

Some of you probably cannot go to Ony yet, may it be your Guild is not ready or you dont got enough fire res. Then again... you might be ready, like some are and cant go. :(

Dont despair! Try next week, and if that dont work... RIOT! Or...Just try the week after.

It will be fixed eventually guys.

After doing this quest atleast 30 times during the week, i decided to wait till after the patch on tuesday, as soon as my realm came on i did this quest&nbsp thinking the whole time it wouldnt work , to my surprise it worked :) i was hoping it was fixed for everyone but it looks like it isnt :(

Since yesterday, I've waited over two hours for Windsor to show. That with the bug in the Keep, after Lady K's transformation, where nothing happens is getting a little frustrating. I've written to GM (Quel'Thalas realm) each time with the reply that simply states that they are investigating the problem. As I write, I'm standing at SW entrance, waiting ever so patiently for Windsor... I don't think he's going to come riding in on his steed.

The Quest got stuck on the first attempt to do it... but suspect that it was because one of our groupmates did not turn in the quest before.

So we had to return, and restart. Marhal appeared without problem, but one in the group was to far so we had to abandon and restart again.

Marhall again appeared after a minute or so, and we started the quest. Followed through, revealed onyxia, did the fight, and then completed the quest.

Quest is probably bugged, or at least I think so. If you die during the Bolvar fight, you instantly fail the quest. So it is either bugged or is one of the lamest quests out there. In other words, 'amassing an army' doesnt mean crap because you can't possibly not expect to die, someone to die, while fighting the beasts that spawn and hit for 1k. So yeah, Bolvar is supposed to solo them all.

this part of the quest is listed as a raid, but it is very soloable. the trick is, as noted in the quest guide from filterspawn , is to actually NOT do anything.
As a paladin, all i did to 'assist' was to buff Fordragon with Blessing of Kings. then I just stood down in the hall a little ways (out of agrro range) and watched. Fordragon can tank all of them on his own (for me, he got to 49% health) . the tricky part is asking and getting the lookie-loo's to listen to your request to stay back.
once he was down to one guard and that guard was at low health i told then told them to go ahead and "help" kill the dragonkin

Tried this after 1.9 patch and I follow Windsor all the way to the keep, intitiate chat and then follow him up to Lady Prestor. Then he just sits there. nothin happens at all. Left there after a 10 minute wait, failed quest, abandoned quest. Waited 30+ minutes outside SW and he's not respawning. Check Morgan's Vigil and no new quest there either.

Tried quest 3 or 4 times on the 23 rd July/o6. Didn't seem to work...Windsor's respawn seemed out of synch with the key Npc's in Stormwind Keep. I would arrive at the Keep with Windsor and noticed that the Dragon Lady was there while Bolvar was not there. It also happened the other way around for some odd reason. If you see this happening, the quest will not activate to the final grand battle I found. One of the 4 times it failed she actually spawned into the dragon, but that was it.......the quest stalled there, Windsor disappered, FAILED. This happened when there was alot of activity in SW and there were people in the Keep being a nuisance.laughing at me.....saying I'm wasting my time etc etc. So i waited till there were very few people on (1:30 am PAC time) and had a Guildie go to the keep and gave me a thumbs up on the status on all the NPC's. Got to the KEEP, let it all play through without doing a damn thing. Just activate and let it all play out and Voila.....Quest Completed!
