Breaking the Keystone

Find and kill Fozruk. Bring the Rod of Order to the Keystone in the Arathi Highlands.
Rod of Order

Description

Opening the Stones of Binding loosened much of my confinement, but a lock still holds me chained. It is the Keystone you see among this circle of stones. And the key is held by one of my captors, the stone watcher Fozruk.

You must obtain that key, which the stone watchers call the Rod of Order, from Fozruk and use it to open the Keystone.

<name>, you have done so much to aid me. Just a little more...and my gratitude will shake the very foundations of the earth!

I am a human mage level 39 and just completed the quest..

here are some tips:

Princess Trapped is a very easy quest if you can find the cave.. the cave is hidden on the North-East-North of Hammerfall between the rock and mountains.. the pad is behind the tree..

after you complete the first part, second part is a piece of cake if you are level 38+.. else bring some a good friend with you.. however, the chance that the bindings are cleared of the mobs are big.. Alliance always grinding on the firey things ..

Third and the last part: to locate and kill the big ugly fat guy called Fozruk, you first need to locate him.. if you dont have mount, dont spend the whole day looking for him but do something else in Arathi, like killing the Stone Exiles for mount money..&nbsp when you accidently find Fozruk, stay with him and call for help.. General messages are always answered and people will come to help you .. (my clan mates made a raid to help me :P .. just for fun we were with 15 people..) .. so if you have a level 45-60 you can get to work.. make sure you get "Sleepy" the irritating kobold first, cause he makes you sleep for afew seconds.. after you kill the guy, bring the quest item to the Circle with stone exiles..

after you complete the quest, another level 42 elite appears.. so make sure you are gone or have some help.. (i got help from a level 60 mage undead, i needed to /bow /kneel afew hundred times) ..

last part you go to Ironforge, the guy is found in Forlorn Cavern.

.. thats it people.. I am still busy doing the Badlands part, but i am waiting till i have my mount (10k xp) .. i dont like walking

I killed the giant, and in the time that it took me to kill the remaining two minions (not that long - I am a lvl 48 combat rogue), his corpse despawned! next time, i'll loot him while they beat on me...

Did this yesterday with lvl 43 warrior. Am lvl 40 lock and did not find it easy.

Fozruk uses you as a door mat, and one of his 3 friends makes you sleep. Maybe taking out the "sleeper" first should help. A mage to pin Fozruk down would definately have helped. Did not get around to use Fear after DoT's on Fozruk, but try if you are a lock.

Get you rod when you have downed Fozruk and go to Cirkle of Inner Binding (the one near Stormgard). Clear the Elementals within the Circle. On the centre stone your wheel will apear and a new quest can be picked up. When you accept, a new lvl 42 elite giant spawns. He is much easier than Fozruk. We just killed him, and I do not know if the tips above with waiting and he disapears actually works.

Waited and waited and waited by the inner circle like the post above suggested.&nbsp He never showed up.&nbsp Went to the East circle where the comment above stated he spawned.&nbsp Sure enough he does.&nbsp So DONT wait at the inner circle - people prob kill him before he gets there.&nbsp If u just gonna sit and wait, do it where he spawns.&nbsp Lots of stuff to kill for XP and loot while u wait too.&nbsp

By using Sap I was able to kill one at a time, making the quest much easier.&nbsp I used my 'improved sap' to sap one of the bodyguards.&nbsp The giant and the other bodyguards do not wait for him while he is sapped.&nbsp I killed him when the rest of the guys were out of aggro range.&nbsp I then ran up and sapped the next bodyguard, then killed him.&nbsp I kept doing this until the giant was all alone.&nbsp This way I only had to kill one at a time and it was much easier.

Killing Fozruk is fairly simple with a few 35-38's regardless of class. Kill/Fear/pettank his guards and concentrate on Fozruk. DOT's or a good pet can take out his guards. The Keystone is located with the Earth Elementals and is in the center. Use the Same group to complete and the elementals are nothin.

Confirmed. In 2.3.0, you must kill him and loot him before killing his adds OR kill his adds before him.

When I killed him the first time, I kill the adds then tried to loot and it didn't work. The second time, I killed him then looted just fine, then killed the adds. For testing, I waited around and did it again. I was able to loot him if I killed ALL the adds before Fozruk.

The adds have 150-160 HP.

I must be a total newb, because I had a time and a half killing fozruk. >_<

No one in AH wanted to kill him, so I was stuck at lv 39 with 42 warrior and 37 rogue. It took a while, but we finally did it. Here's a neat trick that works will to kill his guards, but it requires a rogue, probably with improved sap. I don't know if this will work without.

Find Fozruk and his guards just as he's leaving one of the circles of binding. Sap one of his guards, and everyone will leave the sapped guard behind. Once fozruk is a short distance away, out of relative aggro range, kill the sapped guard. They will continue walking, oblivious. Do this for all of the guards, then you can take on Fozruk solo.

But you HAVE to be quick about this, because the guards respawn when he reaches the next circle of binding.

Was pretty easy to kill Fozruk with my lvl43 rogue (and probably at lower levels too).&nbsp Use the standard distract+sap to separate the kobolds from him one at a time and pick them off (i.e. distract so that one kobold stays behind, then sap or improved sap or sap+vanish to keep him there, then kill him after the rest of the group is far enough away).

OK, maybe things have changed since the patch, but there's more to this quest then just killing Fozruk. With a 37 prot pally (me), 38 pally, 38 shammie & 37 holy priest we snuffed Fozruk & his little posse without too much hassle.

The holy priest & I went back to hand in. As soon as I clicked on complete, a second 42 elite giant appeared and attacked us. We put him down, priest handed in the quest & clicked complete - the same thing repeated itself.

From the comments on allakhazam, I was expecting a neutral giant to appear - I wasn't expecting him to appear *red* and immediately attack us. But apparently nowadays he is, so if you can't solo a 42 elite then be sure to take your group back to the hand in with you.

Oh, and do remember to click on the keystone again after the fight to pick up the follow on quest chain. We nearly forgot & it's not readily apparent.

since patch 2.3 no longer elite, however not to be underestimated

his caster adds have roughly 150 health(no kidding, i could 1-hit them) and his warrior add has about 200(i just couldn't 1-hit him)

however, Fozruk has 2.4k health and some nasty abilities and high armor, but weak melee, all in all not a tough fight, my suggestion is if you have aoe, focus on Fozruk and use aoe to kill the adds, if you don't have aoe, kill each add seperately, they aren't tough at all

watch out when completing the quest, a giant with roughly 1.5k health will pop up, i almost died because i was at low health

Actually he walks between the cirles, like he goes from the inner binding to the western binding to the eastern back to the outer.

I heard he walks a lot around between the Inner and Western circle.

This Q wasnt too hard, with a 46 pally we easily killed them.

Did this by myself as a 41 rogue. Wasn't that hard, distracted his three caster sidekicks seperately and then killed Fozruk. Used blind, 2xHeavy mageweave bandages and a superior healing potion.

Way to easy.

Of the three guards, 2 are casters. There is one with around 3000 mana, he is a mage type that casts the firebolts. The other caster with around 1200 mana is like a paladin and he resurrects. If you take him out, then you can gradually take out the other guards without them getting replaced. After the you take out the mage, it becomes -much- more manageable.

After you kill Fozruk and get the quest item, you take it to the keystone. A level 42 elite "Forzuk clone" (as someone called him) spawns, just as stated here in another post. You DO NOT have to kill that enemy in order to complete this quest, however you DO have to click on the keystone again. This will complete this part of the series and allow you to continue to the next step.

I did this as a lvl 41 NE Hunter, wasnt too hard. The first time I tried it I kited him through the whole damn map. If u kite him his guys will go back at one point. But while I was kiting him when he was at like 1/4 health he just froze and then he just disappeared, then I couldnt find him again. The 2nd time I just killed one of his guys at a time then feign deathed or ran. Then when he was by himself I just attacked him. But then after I killed him and when to look at the stone another 42 elite attacked me at 1/2 life and mana. But I just kited him around and killed him... yeah he didnt drop sh1t.

If Thenan the Fozruk clone kills you when he appears, you can still complete the quest. It's not far to the Circle from the Alliance graveyard at Refuge Pointe. When I resurrected, the giant was still there, but he ignored me. By the time I'd built up my health and ressed my pet, he had vanished and I thought I'd have to do the quest again. Just to see what would happen, I clicked on the keystone and it gave me the next step of the quest.

I also noticed that Fozruk is quite hard to see for a giant! He vanishes from view when he's still quite close - at least on my machine. I could still see mobs that seemed to be further away than him. Not sure if anyone else gets that happening - could just be my view settings.

Fozruk wanders around the whole map with his two sidekicks. His wandering path can be seen here.

You can wait for him anywhere (preferably where adds aren't a problem). It may take some time 'til he shows up, but he's HUGE, so once he comes around, there's no worry about missing him.

SUCH a fun quest.

me (41 pally BE), an undead lock lvl 31, a orc hunter lvl 35 and another 39 undead lock killed fozruk and pals when this stupid 40 ally warrior tries to kill me at 5% health.

so i lay on hands, get full health and own him =]]

then i go to the keystone to turn it in and the huge foz clone comes outa NOWHERE and i had to solo him.

an adventure ill surely rememberr =]]
