Hints of a New Plague?

Find the Forsaken Courier and bring back her Sealed Folder to Quae near the Go'Shek Farm.
Sealed Folder

Description

So, Phin sent you to check on us? Not surprised--he worries too much.

We've been watching the farm for days, and Kin claims she saw a courier come out of that small house to the south not long ago.

She talks a lot, but I can always trust her senses when we're in dangerous areas.

You wouldn't happen to be a skilled tracker, would you? We think the courier might be carrying notes to Tarren Mill. If we could get our hands on those documents, it might shed some light on what's happening in Hillsbrad.

The easiest way to find the courier is to follow the road from Tarren Mill east to Arathi, and continue following it all the way to the farm. That should give the game enough time to spawn the courier if it isn't up, and if it is you'll run into it on your way east. If for some reason you don't find her, she (and her guards) will spawn in the house at the south-west corner of the farm. It's the same one with the apothecary in it.

The courier herself should be easily soloable by any class, it's the guards that are a pain. I solo'd this quest without a problem as a 35 warrior. Bloodrage + charge courier + intimidating shout. YMMV.

the courier spawns @ Go'shek Farm (60,60)

he rolls with 4 bodyguards (low-mid 30s, forgot the exact lvls)

he follows the path towards Tarren Mill (55,20) which is @ Hillsbard (west of Arathi)

he does not walk back to Go'shek from Tarren Mill (i believe), he just spawns again @ Go'shek

i didn't actually see the courier party get pounded by the alliance bodyguard but if everyone is saying that then solo it by following the courier party until a gang war takes place

if not, then group up
tank the courier and kill that dude no matter what
everyone else, immobilize the party (sheep, charm, fear, stun, you get the point)
if the courier dies while everyone in tha party is still alive then either finnish of the rest if possible or run, since the courier is dead already
if your partymates dies after the courier dies, its fine, the item is still loot-able after rez

i hope this helps

For those of us on the Alliance side, there are a group of mounted guards that run the same road. They will attack this mob on sight. All I had to do was follow them until they dismounted and make sure I got the the courier and I was able to do this as a 35 mage rather easily.

I sat, melded, and waited (about 20 min.) for the courier and her four body guards to spawn at Go'Shek Farm, 61,62.&nbsp As soon as they did I stood and recast Mark of the Wild and Thorns, then shifted to cat and prowl.&nbsp Then I followed them along the road past Refuge Point, almost to Stromgarde, coord. 31,52.&nbsp There, four friendly guards, that patrol the same road, attacked her crew.&nbsp When they did, I immediately came out of meld and attacked her (the courier) from the rear.&nbsp The four friendly guards had no problem dismantling her crew.&nbsp She turned on me after my second hit.&nbsp I came out of cat to drink a potion when i had to, shifted back to cat and kept hitting her with all I had.&nbsp She died about the same time the guards finished off her body guards.&nbsp (If you dont finish her, guards will attack her, too) Very easy, very neat, loads of fun.

There is a 3 unit cavalry squad that patrols from Stromgarde - I waited until they met up with the courier group and then focused on the courier with my pet and ranged attacks. Once the bodyguards attacked my pet - the cavalry squad came to the rescue and I was able to dispatch all the guards and get the courier message! I don't know if it is timed that way, but I waited just outside Stromgarde until the groups met. Good luck!

Soloed as lvl 36 rogue. A little tougher than doing it as a warrior, due to lower armor. I can kill things 1 or 2 on one, but 5 on one is a little much.

Sap one guard, blind another, start killing courier. Use evasion when the one guard is no longer blind. Probably have to healing-potion in the middle, unless you're twinked out. Kill what you can, then Vanish, as long as the courier is dead. Wait a few secs, and the guards will move down the road back in formation.

Wait until you won't aggro them, and loot the corpse. Done! Not the prettiest solo, but it works.

2 methods:

1) Wait for the elite cavalry to intercept the foresaken (fire of a shot at the courier before they do)

or

2) wait for them to walk near refuge point, shoot the courier and kite him into refuge point.&nbsp The guards will kill them and perhaps other players will as well.&nbsp The same trick works for the elite giant.

The Courier spawns right at the Go'Shek farm with 4-5 of his buddies. Be careful. I (39 War) was there with a 39 Priest waiting for the spawn. He spawned and immediately came at us. Were it not for our levels he would have overtaken us completely.

Later on I saw the whole gang walking the road to the zone just north of the Circle of Inner Binding and Stormguard.

Did it as 35 Shaman. Earthbind, Healing Stream. Pulled Courier with Lightning Bolt and kept running around the Earthbind totem, frost shocking courier on each cd. When it was dead, i ghost wolfed and waited for guards to reset.

As 35 rogue, just ambush, evasion, all out nuke then vanish. Easy as hell.

As mage, start with a high damage spell, do it til its near, frost nova, max range and fireball/frostbolt again. No need to sheep. When courier is dead, blink away and wait for guards to reset.

Unless you use above advice ofc. But this is just as easy and takes no time at all.

wow u can bug this and do it at pretty much any level as long as u can kill the apothecary person. If the courier has been killed run to the shack with the apothecary kill her and wait. As soon as the courier respawns right outside the door attack her. When things spawn there is a delay before they become agressive so her guards won't attack u and will start on their patrol without the courier.

Just to reiterate for the rogues out there... stealth and use distract on the guards. Then run up to courier and backstab or garrote and focus on her til she dies. I did have to use one healing potion during the fight. Then vanish and wait for the mob to keep going (they'll keep walking without her). Loot and you're done.

I tried to solo this as a L37 druid (feral) twice, but came just short of killing the courier before dying both times. It's easy to line up a rip while prowling because the guards don't aggro me quickly enough at this level. After going out of energy, I switched out of cat form and moon-spammed and got the courier very low on health, so it's definitely possible to use this method to kill the courier and then come back after dying to loot - especially as a slightly higher level than 37, or getting a crit in there.

On my third attempt, I was near Refuge Point so a L60 passing by kindly helped me. Never hurts to ask politely. Think that's the easiest way to do this quest. :)

Here little guide for lvl 34 Draenei Shaman.

1. Farm those mobs on the farm until you see the group front of that small house at the entrance of farm where is this Apotechar or something.

2. Follow those like 5-10 sec so mobs in the farm wont attack you.

3. Shoot the main target with Lightnigh Bolt, use (racial) Gift of the Naaru.

4. Frost shock, Stoneclaw Totem, melee, melee, Frost shock and he is propably down then.

5. Change to Ghost Wolf and run away and get back for loot with almost full hp.

I found as a druid your best bet is to follow the suggestions of waiting for the group to meet up with the guards.&nbsp I followed this tactic and even though I wasn't the first one to get the hit in (a guard was fighting him) I was able to easily kill him. And looting was no problem because the guards had the bodyguards distracted. I was level 37.&nbsp I wouldn't suggest doing this one by yourself, however, as a druid if you don't rely on the guards. Find a group and complete the quest.

Patrol from the farm up to the wall you'll find him somewhere in between.
Just send your pet on the guards and start firing on the Courier till your pet dies. If the guards attack you keep hitting the Courier till he dies and then use 'Feign Death'. The guards will walk away and you can go loot the corpse )

I meant to save this til I was a little higher level, but saw the courier passing by just as I'd turned in another quest at Refuge Point and thought I'd try what I'd read here. IAM'd the courier, frost nova'd, backed up the road to Refuge Point, hoping to maybe get near an Alliance NPC eventually, repeated. Two guards weren't frozen by the second nova and they sliced and diced me in a second or two. Might do it with more finesse next time, a healing potion here, a mana shield there, a blink, but the guards not staying close enough together to freeze twice caught me by surprise and would probably get me killed again. I am liking the idea of following until an Alliance patrol attacks them, or at least of doing this with another player along.

Alright. All I did was get up in front to that crossroads nearing the Refuge Pointe. Moonfired the Courier, ran like crap to refuge, shifting in and out of travel to slam the moonfire button. Got her and the guards to the alli guards, they offed the courier, just spammed swipe on the bodyguards and popped a healing potion while the 40 guards did my work for me.

...then the next quest was 'Get a bunch of free loot as a 38 kills everything for you, then kills a level 36.'

Then it was 'go get more free loot for FLYING TO SOUTHSHORE.'

Sometimes, Blizz. sometimes you make my heart tear up in joy.

There are probably a number of ways of doing this and it's soloable as a Rouge but it's a lot easier on the subsequent quests to have a partner, plus you both don't have to wait around for those damned mages with their frost/blizzard spells nuking everything in sight. If you distract the entire party the guards will just hang around and wait for the courier. It's easier to distract the last two guards, take them out after the party moves out of aggro range, then do the same for the other two. If you get the courier plus two guards you can sap one of the guards then go after the courier and hit vanish afterwards if health is too low. The best place to intercept the party is just after they leave the spawn area. That way you're not waiting forever down the road while some mage decides to farm.

Got there just as another player killed the courier at the farm they spawn.
Figured I'd wait on the hill near the Apothecary.. Couldn't take that long to spawn, right?

Wrong...
Took 35 minutes exactly before she spawned with her bodyguards.

I did this as a level 35 mage. The courier was wandering along the main road toward Stromgarde Keep from Thandol Span. I got to furthest distance and fired Pyroblast, Fire Blast, Scorch, Arcane Missiles, took Healing Potion and did Arcane Missiles again. Completely forgot about frost nova but didn't need it - that killed the courier - I blinked away from the bodyguards and went back to collect the sealed folder from the body when they'd carried on along their way. :)

I soloed this quest at lvl 34 and won. What you do is got to the flight path and wait for the horsemen to come thru...then follow them (or just run) to Stromgarde. And yes you have to wait a lil while for the horsemen to come back but its worth it. And btw they came from the West of Stromgarde. When the 2 groups come close enough together... target the carrier... hit him and run the whole group in front of the horsemen. I hit the carrier with a few Dots(AKA:Moonfire) then died and he died right after me. Went back and looted corpse and completed quest... very easy.

I managed a variation on several other people's style, one that a fellow lock or a hunter could duplicate I did it at level 36. Found them in a nice open stretch of road, then targeted the courier and sent my void after him. Once the whole group had focused on the void, I started flinging DoT's and Life Drain at the courier, killing him before the void died, then took off running down the road until they stopped chasing. Went back and looted teh courier, no problem.

Just because I was feeling nasty, I went back and lured the bodyguards into the refugee camp and let the guards there slaughter them.
